Demon King: Hero, don’t run away!

“Calling me a rat is quite offensive.”

Slowly standing up, Yang Yu took out his shield and slid it onto his left arm.

Although simply scaling the wall would mean he had essentially completed the task, it seemed that he couldn’t climb over without defeating Asuna.

“If one must draw comparisons, I would prefer you liken me to a stoat in a hunt, as that would at least seem cuter.

After all, we’re just walking within the rat’s den, not actual rats.”

“Do you mean to say that we on this side are the rats?” Asuna lightly flicked her long whip, the sound of it cutting through the air with a terrifying crack, as she gathered her messy hair and let out a snort of derision, “You really have no idea how high the sky is or how deep the earth is.

You, it seems, are not aware of the difference in strength between us.

It’s the weak who end up as mice.”

When the deafening explosion sounded, she knew too well the consequences if the one who caused all of this got away.

Immediately, she ran towards the most likely direction Yang Yu would flee to, and managed to catch up just as he was scaling the wall.

She had to stop him at all costs, sink her venomous fangs deep into the neck of this thieving rat, revel in the look of despair on his face, and make him repay for all the losses here.

“Don’t know the gap between you and me?” Yang Yu’s face remained unbothered, “I am well aware of the disparity in strength between us.

But I certainly won’t let anyone slaughter me at will.”

Her attributes are not low by any means, but upon careful consideration, they haven’t exceeded the realm of “ordinary people.”

At least, she needed to reach Andro’s level to be considered excellent.

Most likely, her position is reliant on that special skill, [Charming Girl].

The long whip snaked through the air and coiled unpredictably as Asuna launched a sudden attack towards Yang Yu’s shoulder.

The speed was so fast that Yang Yu could not evade in time; he had no choice but to let the whip strike his shoulder, taking over a hundred points of damage.

Asuna retracted her whip, her face filled with mockery, “You wouldn’t think that I got this position just because of my Charming Technique, would you?”

“What else then?”

Yang Yu mulled over the previous attack in order to respond appropriately.

The whip’s attack was harder to dodge than he had imagined, not only because of its vast range but also because the whip could transform in mid-air, leading to miscalculations.

Her first miss was probably due to being overly hasty.

“You really do have a sharp tongue.

I wonder how long you can keep it up.”

With that, Asuna lashed out with her long whip again, tracing a sinister arc in the air.

Yang Yu extended his shield, activating [Interception], and the Illusion Shield instantaneously expanded to receive the whip’s lash.

However, [Interception] didn’t fully negate the damage from the whip, leaving him to take 23 points of damage.

Yang Yu was correct in his thinking; Asuna’s whip attacks fell under the category of Flying Prop, meaning that [Shield Counter], a skill requiring a certain melee range, couldn’t be used to deal damage to Asuna.

Generally speaking, when dealing with an opponent wielding a long whip, there are two strategies: close-quarters combat, or staying beyond the whip’s range and freely casting skills.

Originally, if “Interception” had not worked, Yang Yu intended to keep moving around the periphery, using “Shield Counter” sparingly without engaging closely, leaving Bai Jin to finish off the foe.

Now it seemed, the only option left was close combat.

Thankfully, due to the group of black workers, Asuna only had three hundred Blood Volume and was still in a state of slight fatigue.

With such a Blood Volume, as long as he could get close, there was still a way to deal damage.

“Bai Jin!

Get the Curse Magic ready, start with ‘Healing Prohibition,’ the rest at your discretion.

After that, cover my advance with ‘Frost Ice Arrow.’”

Throughout, Yang Yu never forgot the presence of his teammate.

After a brief trial, he commanded Bai Jin to initiate the attack.

Bai Jin’s current mana and stamina were not enough to recklessly cast skills; every drop of mana had to be used with caution.

After discussing, Bai Jin and Yang Yu agreed that, except for some special circumstances, Bai Jin would prioritize following Yang Yu’s arrangements.

Now, she started chanting Curse Magic, extended her Magic Wand, and formed an Array at its tip.

A dull purple light shot out at the speed of light, entering Asuna’s body, followed by Bai Jin tirelessly weaving other Curse Magic spells, hurling one after another at Asuna.

Asuna was undaunted, continuing to focus on wielding her Whip Technique, lashing out at Yang Yu.

Once Bai Jin had exhausted all her Curse Magic and was about to use Condensed Attack Magic, Asuna directly pulled out a bottle of golden-liquid from her clothes, uncapped it, and poured it down her throat.

After drinking it down, she casually tossed the bottle away, smashing it along with Bai Jin’s Frost Ice Arrow with her whip.

“Hehe,” Asuna let out a cold laugh, “You don’t really think that I’m too exhausted from tangling with those black workers to handle you, do you?

You thought by continuously depleting my stamina, I would collapse without a fight.

Now, let me show you the power of our proudest Potions from our research facility!”

Watching Asuna’s Blood Bar instantly recover, Yang Yu focused his gaze.

He thought he was about to happily harvest a weak boss, but instead, the BOSS revived at full Blood.

Not only that, but all of her abnormal Status effects had disappeared, and she was bursting with Essence Qi.

Why didn’t “Healing Prohibition” work?

Could it be the Potion first removed all abnormal Status before restoring health?

Isn’t that just too outrageous?

“Now, can you still smile like you did before?

Facing me at full Status, you have absolutely no chance of winning!”

Asuna swung her Long Whip, and Yang Yu stepped back, using “Shield Block” to defend against the attack.

“Nice reflexes.

If you hadn’t entered our research facility to trouble us in that manner but instead joined us through official channels, perhaps in three to five years, you could have become one of the key pillars of our Commerce.”

Asuna, like a black cat deliberately playing with its prey before eating it, temporarily ceased her attacks, savoring the panic of her prey, awaiting for it to find a glimmer of hope in the darkness, exert all its might, and then she would bite it in her mouth.

“Actually, I’ve always been quite curious.

At that time, you should have been Charmed by me.

Just how did you manage to break free from my Charm!

Speak up, and perhaps I could spare your life, throw you in the dungeon for ten days or half a month.

If you behave well, it’s not impossible to let you serve the family.”

Deliberately dragging out her voice, Yang Yu smiled, “Then, I must thank Asuna for the recognition.

I believe the reason I could break free from your Charm was probably, maybe, because I’m handsome!”

While speaking, Yang Yu didn’t idle, operating the System and jumping to the Fusion section, throwing the obtained Racial Essence into the sugar-making machine.

With his current ability, there was no chance of winning by dragging out the fight.

Only by raising the Level cap and completing the source eradication Task was there a sliver of hope.
