The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1550: Chapter 1550: Why Are You Here?

She didn’t feel it herself, relaxed her shoulders, didn’t hold anything in her hands, crossed her arms, and followed Sadam Vinson and the others into the Imperial Hotel.

...

Outside the banquet hall number one, Caryn Zachmann was already eagerly waiting for several people to come over.

Since the last time, she hadn’t been able to see Sadam Vinson and the others for a long time.

Initially, she had given up hope.

She assumed that Sadam Vinson and the others wouldn’t give face and come over, but unexpectedly, Sadam Vinson suddenly sent a message saying he would come.

Caryn Zachmann’s beautiful eyes lit up, and the corners of her mouth couldn’t help but rise; she was in a very good mood now.

Hendrik Zachmann helped arrange a few guests inside, saw her waiting outside, walked over and asked, ”Caryn, why are you standing here? Is there someone else coming?”

”Yes, Amadeus and the others are coming over.” Caryn didn’t hide it from him. While she was talking to him, she caught sight of the people coming in from the corner of her eye.

Her eyes brightened, she disregarded Hendrik, and immediately went over: ”Sada...”

Before she finished the word ’Sada’, she saw the girl behind Sadam Vinson.

Nathalie Quinlan was too ostentatious.

Even though surrounded by a group of people, it didn’t affect others from noticing her presence first.

Caryn Zachmann’s expression changed, and her tone immediately turned unfriendly: ”Why are you here?”

She was clearly directing her words at Nathalie Quinlan.

The girl in the crowd hadn’t responded yet.

Sadam Vinson was the first to be displeased, unobtrusively blocking Nathalie Quinlan, and said: ”I invited Nathalie to come along. Why, you don’t welcome her? If you don’t welcome us, we’ll leave.”

”I don’t mean that.” Caryn Zachmann reacted much quicker than before.

Knowing that she had caused quite a bit of conflict with Sadam Vinson and the others because of Nathalie Quinlan, if she showed hostility again, Sadam might not give her face in return.

Though internally uncomfortable, she forced herself to suppress it, squeezed out a reluctant smile, turned her line of sight towards the girl, and cryptically said: ”I just didn’t expect her to come. My dad tried to call her and couldn’t get through; I thought she wasn’t in Beijing.”

She’s been staying at the Pharmaceutical Association this half month, not knowing when Nathalie returned from M Country.

Leonardy Zachmann did mention wanting to invite Nathalie to lunch together.

Unfortunately, both Leonardy and Hendrik Zachmann tried calling Nathalie, but couldn’t get through.

She herself didn’t want Nathalie to come, hoping she wouldn’t come to ruin her plans.

After all, not seeing her, she wouldn’t think about the incident in M Country where she met Nathalie, nor would she speculate on why Nathalie knows the director.

Now, seeing that bold figure in the crowd, all of Caryn’s memories flooded back, once again prompting her to recall the scene when she encountered the girl at the Pharmaceutical Association.

No matter how she tried to investigate later, she couldn’t find out the connection between Nathalie and the Pharmaceutical Association, nor in what capacity Nathalie was involved.

Thus far, she only knows that Nathalie and Caleb Dax have a good relationship.

They are friends.

How two people with such a big age difference know each other and became friends, she has no idea.

Caryn Zachmann’s expression changed several times, finally taking a deep breath to calm down.

After returning from the Pharmaceutical Association, she became quite adept at maintaining appearances, smiled slightly, tilted her head, and said to the girl: ”Nathalie, you came back without telling me. My mom and I were worried about you being unsafe out there alone... it’s good that you’re back safely. Next time you go far away, remember to tell the family. I bet Uncle doesn’t know you’ve gone to M Country, right?”
