The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1547: Chapter 1547: Nathalie: Go? Why Not?

Nathalie Quinlan took a sip of tea and put the cup down, her delicate eyebrows unabashedly sharp, a playful curve at her glossy lips.

Ellen Quarles is here too?

She leaned back, her voice hoarse, chuckling with a flamboyant tone, ”Tsk~ are they planning to go out of their way to court disaster?”

As soon as she said this, everyone in the room turned to look at her.

Sadam Vinson was the first to react, scratching his head, his big eyes full of confusion, ”Nathalie, what are you talking about? What do you mean court disaster? Are you talking about Ellen Quarles and Caryn Zachmann?”

”Forget about Caryn Zachmann, she...”

Sadam Vinson didn’t even want to bother mentioning Caryn Zachmann’s past antics; what puzzled him more was why Nathalie would specifically bring up Ellen Quarles.

He wasn’t exactly stupid; his mind didn’t work as well as Amadeus Yancey’s, but he definitely wasn’t a fool.

He pondered for a moment about what Nathalie had been doing these past few days and immediately realized, ”Does Audrick Zachmann’s injury have something to do with Ellen Quarles?”

Nathalie hadn’t answered him yet.

Sadam Vinson had already pieced things together and couldn’t help but exclaim, ”The Quarles family must have a death wish!”

He also found it unbelievable, ”Just how deep is her hatred for Audrick Zachmann to resort to such vicious tactics, wanting his life.”

This time Audrick Zachmann was lucky.

He survived the calamity.

If there had been any other items on the ground at the time, if he’d fallen elsewhere, he might not have survived.

Sadam Vinson couldn’t quite understand why Ellen Quarles had done such a thing.

There’s a reason for everything; why is Ellen Quarles acting like a mad dog?

”She wasn’t targeting Audrick Zachmann.” Nathalie spoke slowly, her words steady and deliberate, but she didn’t explain much, raising her eyes to look at the handsome man, ”Did Caryn Zachmann mention where and what time she’s hosting the luncheon?”

”Where else could it be? There are only a few dining places for the upper circle in Beijing, she can’t access anything more high-end.”

Sadam Vinson cut to the chase and answered directly, ”She said on the phone at noon she’d host it at Imperial Hotel, she booked a banquet hall on the first floor, seems like she’s inviting quite a few people.”

When it came to Caryn Zachmann, Sadam Vinson raised an eyebrow, sarcastically disregarding her, ”Tsk, just because she got into the Pharmaceutical Association, look how grand she is. She just held a big recognition banquet, and now she’s throwing another one, doesn’t want anyone to forget she returned from Orlais.”

This time, Caryn Zachmann is using the cover of a ’welcome back party’ to invite people, but everyone knows her real intent—to show that she’s smoothly joined the Pharmaceutical Association and become an official member.

The people in Beijing’s circle customarily love to flatter the high and trample the low.

This time, Caryn Zachmann is going to be in the spotlight again!

Caryn Zachmann always liked to be the center of attention, and now she’s probably very pleased with herself.

”Nathalie, are you going?” Sadam Vinson’s mind was still sharp; seeing Nathalie inquire about the banquet’s time and place indicated she might be interested in going.

Nathalie rested her leg, her arm on the sofa’s armrest beside her, the jeans-clad legs perfectly proportioned and straight, her posture very cool.

She turned her head, her eyelashes slightly lowered but unable to hide the sharp gleam in her eyes, ”Of course, why wouldn’t I go.”

”Just when I’m sleepy, someone gives me a pillow, how could I refuse such a good thing?”

She had already planned to find Ellen Quarles.

Tsk, Ellen Quarles came right to her door.

Why wouldn’t she give Caryn Zachmann a proper welcome back?

Of course, she would celebrate for them properly.

Imperial Hotel.

Caryn Zachmann’s airplane landed at ten, and by ten thirty, she was already outside Hall One of the Imperial Hotel with Celine Tucker, greeting guests.
