The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1548: Chapter 1548: Everything That Should Come Has Come

This time, she made quite a grand affair out of it.

At eleven, guests started to arrive one after another.

Sherrina Yacoub and some of her usual close Circle got there early.

Nadya Tucker didn’t come.

These days, Caryn Zachmann didn’t think much of small characters like Nadya Tucker. In her eyes, among the Beijing crowd, there were only a few from the top circle she still held in regard; everyone else seemed insignificant.

Now, she might not even value Sherrina, let alone Nadya from McKinney. In her eyes, the Tucker Family wasn’t worth a penny.

Caryn Zachmann led a group of people inside, arranged a seat at the back for them, exchanged a few pleasantries, and then went to the door to greet other guests.

The name of the Pharmaceutical Association was prominent there.

Many top families in Beijing, for the sake of the Pharmaceutical Association, more or less gave Caryn Zachmann respect.

During Caryn’s previous recognition banquet, no one from the Wilmar Family attended.

This time, the so-called grand welcoming dinner she organized, even Raymond Wilmar came specially.

Besides Raymond, Ivy Wilmar and Myles Sullivan also attended this lunch.

Since Mr. Wilmar passed away, the Wilmar Family’s influence has gradually weakened, but Yonathan Wilmar was somewhat capable. With efforts over time, the Wilmar Family stabilized from the shock of Mr. Wilmar’s sudden death.

Raymond was squeezed out of the core circle of the Wilmar Family, but Yonathan was relatively soft-hearted towards the Family, and as Raymond was his only elder sister, he wasn’t too harsh.

At least, he maintained Raymond’s facade of dignity.

Even though Raymond’s position in the Wilmar Family was far from before, the Wilmar Family was still one of the three most dominant families in Beijing.

A starved camel is still bigger than a horse.

Her willingness to make time for a youngster’s welcoming dinner was definitely giving Caryn Zachmann a huge amount of face.

Caryn, being sensible, went over with her mother to personally greet Raymond and Ivy Wilmar and the others, clasping Celine Tucker’s arm from afar, warmly greeting the three: ”Grandma Wilmar, Aunt Wilmar, Uncle Sullivan.”

”Oh, listen to that sweet mouth, so endearing.” Raymond was wearing an improved green dress today, with a string of matching emerald beads around her neck, looking dignified and elegant at first glance.

Unfortunately, her face was thin, with a long shape. On a closer look, her eyes were fierce, and her lips quite thin; the exterior didn’t suggest a kind elder.

She, however, presented a loving look in front of Caryn and, holding Caryn’s hand, gently said, ”Caryn’s grown up. I remember the last time I saw you, you had just been admitted to Tsinghua University, and now you’re already in the Pharmaceutical Association.”

Turning her head, she spoke very gently to Celine Tucker, ”Mrs. Zachmann, you’ve raised a wonderful daughter!”

The last time Raymond mentioned seeing Caryn was the year the Zachmann Family held a coming-of-age ceremony for her.

That year, the Zachmann Family put on quite a show for Caryn, inviting many distinguished people from Beijing.

Because Mr. Zachmann personally invited them, many people came out of respect.

Raymond was among those people.

Celine was so delighted by just a few compliments from her, though she modestly added, ”Old Lady, don’t praise her too much; she still has much to learn.”

”If she’s already in the Pharmaceutical Association at her age and still needs improvement, then how should others feel about themselves?” Raymond came this time out of respect for the Pharmaceutical Association behind Caryn Zachmann.

”Caryn can enter the Pharmaceutical Association now; you’ll have great fortune in the future.” Since she was there to praise, she would exaggerate to the fullest since praising others didn’t cost a thing.
