The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1501: Chapter 1501: Caryn Zachmann—Do You Want to Take Her On?

A few days ago, she was still elated at the prospect of becoming a member of the Pharmaceutical Association, filled with anticipation, believing she could step over Nathalie Quinlan and explore a new world.

Now, seeing Robert Radcliff’s reply of ’ordinary member’, Caryn Zachmann felt her heart sink to the bottom, digging her fingernails deeply into her flesh.

If Nathalie Quinlan only knew Caleb Dax, it would be fine. But if Nathalie Quinlan had other connections with the Pharmaceutical Association, she... Caryn Zachmann couldn’t even bear the thought.

Nathalie Quinlan must have just happened to know Mr. Dax, it’s unlikely she has other connections with the Pharmaceutical Association, right?

The next day.

Nathalie Quinlan got up early in the morning, checked out of the hotel, and headed to the airport to collect her airplane tickets.

There are only two flights daily from the U.S. to the Capital International Airport.

She bought the earliest one.

Flying at ten in the morning, the flight lasts ten hours, arriving in Beijing around seven in the evening.

The weather in the U.S. is quite variable, and today’s quite cold.

Nathalie Quinlan wore a denim jacket over her sweater, with the hood pulled up. It looked quite warm, but she still bought a hot drink at the airport to hold in her hands.

Since there was still an hour until the airplane took off, Nathalie Quinlan wasn’t in a hurry to leave.

She found a spot and sat down only after.

Caleb Dax’s phone call came through.

Nathalie Quinlan slipped on her earphones, her fingertips skimming the phone screen, connecting the call, her voice tinged with the raspiness of just waking up: ”Hello.”

”Are you on this morning’s airplane?” Caleb Dax was just as before, quick and hurried, doing everything with flair.

Nathalie Quinlan raised her eyes to glance at the flight information overhead, lazily responded: ”Ah, at ten in the morning.”

”Ten o’clock? Let me check the time.”

Caleb Dax probably went to check the time, and shortly said: ”Only an hour left? Why didn’t you tell me before? Wait for me, I’ll come over to see you off, don’t go through the security check just yet.”

People seeing off the airplane can only be inside the airport; if Nathalie Quinlan went through security, Caleb Dax wouldn’t be able to get in.

Actually, it’s not entirely impossible to get in.

Given the Pharmaceutical Association’s standing in the U.S., and Caleb Dax’s position as the head of the association, finding someone at the airport would only take minutes.

But neither Caleb Dax nor Nathalie Quinlan like to create trouble; they prefer simple solutions.

Nathalie Quinlan leaned casually on the airport’s lounge chair, speaking softly and lowly: ”No need to complicate things, I’m about to leave.”

Caleb Dax, grabbing his jacket from the laboratory upon hearing the girl’s dissuasion, hesitated with a look of uncertainty: ”You came all this way, and I haven’t even seen you off...”

Nathalie Quinlan felt it wasn’t a big deal: ”I’m in a rush this time, maybe next time.”

Caleb Dax checked the time, it seemed indeed a bit rushed.

Driving from the Pharmaceutical Association to the airport would take at least half an hour, and even if he hurries, he might not catch her in time.

Moreover, Nathalie Quinlan mentioned she was in a hurry, so he gave up on the idea of seeing her off, shifting his attention to the computer where other members of the Pharmaceutical Association had sent him something, and recalled: ”By the way, the Pharmaceutical Association has welcomed some new members, one of whom is from your country.”

He realized Nathalie Quinlan was also there yesterday, speaking in a calm tone: ”It’s the person you saw yesterday, called... what’s their name again.”

Nathalie Quinlan gathered her thoughts, lightly saying: ”Caryn Zachmann.”

”Ah, yes, that’s the name.” Caleb Dax said: ”She wants to learn Chinese Medicine, would you like to mentor her?”
