The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1508: Chapter 1508: Nathalie: It’s Not Normal for Sadam Vinson to Be This Quiet!

The taxi driver only heard the pleasant voice of the girl in the rear. She was wearing a duckbill cap. He stole a glance through the rearview mirror but couldn’t make out her face.

He pressed the meter, responded briefly, and turned the car, heading towards Tsinghua University.

...

The taxi cruised steadily along the road.

Nathalie Quinlan rolled down the car window, letting the outside wind breeze in.

With her eyes lowered, she took out her phone from her pocket and opened it.

A bunch of messages popped up on her phone.

She didn’t look at any and went straight to WhatsApp, clicking it open.

The first contact on WhatsApp was still silent, not having responded to her message up to now.

She pressed her lips tightly, her eyes growing darker, exited WhatsApp, and checked her contacts.

Nathalie Quinlan thought for about a minute, considering, then dialed out.

”Beep...”

Once the call connected, the other party didn’t answer immediately.

Nathalie Quinlan waited patiently, her arm draped beside her, long leg propped up, sitting quite casually with a somewhat disinterested demeanor, but her eyes showed seriousness.

Quite restrained.

”Beep...”

The phone rang seven or eight times yet no one answered, and soon it hung up automatically.

Nathalie Quinlan narrowed her eyes halfway, pulled the phone away, looked at it, persistently dialed again.

Since yesterday, she noticed quite a large group of people in Beijing were excessively quiet!

Usually, besides Sadam Vinson reaching out, Govert Griffin would occasionally send her messages.

But ever since she couldn’t reach Amadeus Yancey, these two vanished without a trace, not even a bubble on WhatsApp, not chatting in the group.

Since yesterday, not a single message.

Govert Griffin can be ignored.

Sadam Vinson, typically quite talkative, suddenly quiet as a chicken, is truly illogical.

However, since they’re avoiding her, Nathalie Quinlan estimated even if she went to see them in person, the other party wouldn’t tell her what happened.

Last night she was busy with Owen Yapiter’s matters until one in the morning, found a hotel nearby, and barely slept.

Early this morning, she hurried back to Beijing from McKinney.

She was truly not in the best mood right now.

The phone on the other end rang about ten times. Just when she thought there wouldn’t be an answer, it finally connected.

Nathalie Quinlan leaned her arm, eyes holding a stable strength, voice steady and robust: ”Hello, Mrs. Yancey, where are you? I’ll come to find you.”

Elsewhere.

Sadam Vinson and the others were ready to depart.

They waited all night without receiving Jeremiah Bonette’s call, even Brian Bonette couldn’t hold his calm this time. In the morning, after discussing, they decided to first head to Sablehaven to take a look, better than waiting in Beijing.

Sadam Vinson fetched everyone and was preparing to set off.

Candice Yancey’s phone call came through.

Sadam Vinson answered the call, voice hoarse: ”Hello, Mrs. Yancey?”

Brian Bonette and Govert Griffin were also going.

Nadya Tucker, being a girl and having other matters to handle, couldn’t make it.

Everyone was seated in their position, ready to leave.

Seeing Sadam Vinson taking Candice Yancey’s call, both turned to look.

”Now?” Sadam Vinson placed one hand on the steering wheel, rolled down the car window, looking at the landmark building on the roadside, said: ”I’m at Penny Parkway here, next to the shopping center, we’re about to go... Uh, haven’t left yet. Brian contacted his uncle, he knows we’re heading over.”

Who knows what Candice Yancey said on the other end.

Sadam Vinson’s expression clearly showed reluctance: ”I got it. ’He’ is coming when?”

Govert Griffin originally wanted to ask who.

But seeing Sadam Vinson still on the call, was embarrassed to speak out.
