The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 1537: Chapter 1537: Sending Stanley Zachmann Back

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t say much, she just stood by the hospital bed for a while and said to him before leaving, ”Take good care of your injuries, I will get to the bottom of this.”

Audrick Zachmann had wanted to talk to her, tell her not to act impulsively.

Unfortunately, the doctor came in just then to take his blood pressure, and Nathalie went out with the doctor to ask about his condition.

Until Nathalie left, Audrick didn’t find another opportunity to speak with her.

*

Outside the hospital’s inpatient department.

Nathalie learned more about Audrick’s condition and parted ways with his attending physician.

Amadeus Yancey had been by her side the whole time. Seeing her brows furrowed with a layer of frost, he asked her softly, ”Back to the Rhine first?”

”Mm.” Nathalie responded with a hum, turned and said to Stanley Zachmann, ”Dad, I’ll go back and change clothes first. You should head back to school. I’ll update you when I have news.”

”You’re not going with me?”

Stanley glanced at the handsome young man by her side with a mixed feeling in his heart, but thinking of Amadeus Yancey’s character, he relaxed a lot: ”Alright, go back and get some rest first, don’t worry about Audrick’s issue, I’ll find a way to investigate.”

Nathalie’s head was full with this matter, she nodded, appearing very obedient, and then raised her eyes to say to him, ”I’ll see you off.”

Stanley could see the weariness under her eyelids and waved his hand in refusal without thinking, ”No need, I’ll go back myself, no trouble...”

Before he finished speaking, a hand patted his shoulder, and Amadeus Yancey said very politely, ”Uncle, let’s go, I’ve got the car ready to take you back.”

”But...” Stanley’s expression still showed hesitation.

He didn’t want Nathalie to be too tired.

Amadeus briefly and persuasively said, ”We’re heading back anyway, it’s on the way.”

Stanley pursed his lips, still hesitating.

Nathalie pulled down her cap brim, her delicate face with clear and cool features, looked at him, ”Dad, let’s go together.”

”Alright.” Stanley stopped hesitating, nodded, and then said to Amadeus Yancey, ”Mr. Yancey, I’m troubling you.”

”Please just call me by my name, uncle.” Amadeus took out the car keys.

He wore a light-colored shirt underneath with a long trench coat over it, the coat’s style perfectly outlined his broad shoulders and narrow waist, highlighting his tall and graceful figure.

Amadeus’s eyes carried a touch of warmth as he glanced in the girl’s direction, then moved his gaze to Stanley, looking very easygoing, and said to Stanley, ”You can just call me Amadeus.”

Indeed.

Stanley’s brows relaxed further, the more he looked at him, the more satisfied he became, and he wasn’t shy with him, nodding and lightly calling, ”Amadeus, please take care of Nathalie for me.”

”It’s no trouble, it’s what I should do.” The man’s voice was deep and charming.

Nathalie heard this, silently gave him a sideways glance, her hands in her pockets, standing quite coolly, but she didn’t argue back, just cast a lazy, striking glance at a certain someone.

...

On the way back, she hardly talked.

In the car, it was all Amadeus Yancey chatting with Stanley.

Amadeus was always smooth in social settings, but rarely did anyone around him require him to be so attentive, so he usually seemed not very talkative.

But once he seriously engaged in a conversation, he had quite a lot of topics.

Stanley chatted with him all the way.

From Nathalie to academic-related topics, nearly every topic, Amadeus could aptly respond to, and his insights were very profound, clearly not someone lacking in knowledge.
