The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 591: Chapter 591: The Other Party’s Voice is Too Young_1

Amadeus Yancey could tell she hadn’t fully woken up, so he asked the people around him to be quiet for a moment and spoke in a softer voice, ”Once you’re there, take care of yourself. If anything comes up, call my Aunt Candice. She’s in Beijing, and I’ve told her about you coming over today. Her phone is on 24 hours a day, waiting for your call.”

Nathalie Quinlan hadn’t expected him to discuss her visit with Candice Yancey, and for a moment, she fell silent, not quite sure how to respond, before quietly saying, ”I might not have time to dine with Mrs. Yancey.”

”I know,” the man on the other end of the phone seemed to have everything arranged, ”I’ve told her you’re coming to Beijing on some business, and may not have time to eat with her, so she won’t bother you. You go ahead and take care of your friend’s business first; if you have time later, you can make plans with her—otherwise, it’s alright. I just meant that if you run into any trouble, you can go to her. She has connections in Beijing and can help smooth out minor issues.”

”Additionally, I’ve had Alfred Garland book a hotel for you. You can also stay in your previous apartment if you wish. I’ll send you the door code. An auntie there replenishes fresh fruits and vegetables in the fridge every day. If you don’t feel like cooking, just order food delivery.”

Nathalie Quinlan murmured a grateful sound without resisting his arrangements. She glanced at the time and said to him, ”Hanging up now.”

”If it’s urgent, there’s also someone else you can contact. I’ll send you his number; he’s also returning to Beijing today.”

”Alright.”

As soon as Nathalie Quinlan ended the call and set down her phone, she saw his message come through.

It contained the location and room number of the hotel Alfred Garland had booked, the apartment number and password for the place at Rhine Residences, as well as a string of phone numbers.

Following was a name.

Sadam Vinson.

Nathalie Quinlan’s dark eyes scanned the name, and recalling the way Alfred Garland had referred to Mr. Vinson in the car the day before, she had a good idea who Sadam Vinson was.

It seemed that since he had gone to personally inspect the goods, Mr. Vinson would be temporarily returning to Beijing.

Her gaze was rather roguish as she saved the number before flipping through her phone book for another number, just about to call Lowie Wilmar.

Then she noticed an incoming call from an unknown Beijing number.

With her eyes half-closed, Nathalie Quinlan answered the call and an unfamiliar male voice came through from the other end.

It was someone arranged by Lowie Wilmar to pick her up from the airport. He had already arrived outside the airport and, seeing that her flight had landed, he asked about her estimated time to come out.

Nathalie Quinlan confirmed his exact location and then ended the call, holding her phone as she walked towards the airport’s exit.

*

Outside the airport, a black Mercedes parked at the roadside was particularly eye-catching.

It wasn’t that the car was so expensive.

Beijing bustled with wealth; almost every car on the road started at 300,000 RMB, and luxury brands like Mercedes and BMW didn’t attract much attention when parked.

But this car was different.

Its license plate was too attention-grabbing.

A plate reading ”Beijing.00089” parked by the roadside immediately overshadowed the nearby Maybach, and virtually everyone leaving the airport took a glance in its direction, curious to see who this car was there to pick up.

By the car, a man in his early sixties with graying hair stood using his phone to make a call, his expression anxious and his speech rapid.

”...Yes, the flight has landed. Ms. Quinlan hasn’t come out yet; I just called her and she said she’s just deplaned and will come find me herself. Young Master, from the sound of her voice, Ms. Quinlan seems very young. Could I have dialed the wrong number?”

The Wilmar Family’s old butler reported to the person on the other end with an anxious tone.

He wasn’t questioning anything; rather, the person who had answered the phone had sounded so young that he couldn’t help worrying whether the reputed physician they found from McKinney was reliable.
