The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 555: Chapter 555: Could it be a text message from the girlfriend?_1

[sun: Are you there?]

The chat software’s group flashed briefly, and someone immediately responded.

[@playfuldiana: When the boss asks, you gotta be there~ What’s got you online today, boss?]

[Emma Gabehart: I’m here.]

The computer’s light faintly illuminated her face. Nathalie Quinlan had taken a bath and taken her medicine, and now she felt much more comfortable. Resting her elbow on the desk, she glanced at the group messages and noticed that @ilovebeingskinny wasn’t online today.

She didn’t mind it, and her slender fingers danced across the keyboard, sending out a message.

[sun: Has the Yancey family come to us with a job recently?]

Emma Gabehart, who usually spoke the least and was the most serious in the group, replied the fastest this time.

[Emma Gabehart: The Yancey family? There seems to be a job from someone with the last name Yancey, but we didn’t take it. They want to investigate a batch of goods in the Illegal Zone.]

[@playfuldiana: Doesn’t the Red Alliance always avoid these kinds of jobs? We’re not middlemen dealing in second-hand information.]

Nathalie Quinlan left her phone on the desk and saw this message pop up on the chat screen.

The Red Alliance was in the hacker business, mainly selling software and information technology. Dealing with the resale of information, a trade often undertaken by low-level hackers, was something they rarely touched—it was beneath them!

But this time...

The corners of her eyes lifted as she glimpsed the bulging black plastic bag on the bed. Her dark pupils narrowed with a mischievous glint. She felt a bit annoyed; after all, even if one couldn’t feel a bedbug’s bite amidst a swarm, owing too many favors always felt strange in her heart. Every time she brought up that person, it made her irritable.

Nathalie Quinlan suppressed that peculiar feeling in her heart and focused once more, replying to the group.

[sun: Send me that job, I’ll take it.]

[Emma Gabehart: ?????]

[@playfuldiana: ?????]

[@playfuldiana: Boss, are you drunk?]

It had been years since sun had taken any job, and now, suddenly taking one to investigate goods—that was just too...!!

Unbelievable!

Nathalie Quinlan didn’t pay attention to the continuous messages in the group. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw her phone light up; it was Emma Gabehart sending her the tracking number for the goods.

[sun: That’s it, I’m off.]

After sending the message, she didn’t look at the group’s reactions, exiting the app directly. Leaning back, she picked up her phone casually and opened it.

Her fingers moved swiftly, and it wasn’t clear which app she had opened as characters on the screen kept changing. She entered the tracking number she had looked up, and after a while, half-closing her eyes, she pressed the enter key.

The characters on the phone’s screen raced by, and about a minute later, they came to a halt, displaying a map marked with a red dot.

Nathalie Quinlan casually took a screenshot of the map and sent it back in an email, addressed to the location mentioned on the tracking number.

The whole process took about half an hour.

When she was done, she casually wiped any traces from the phone, stood up, and went to the bathroom to dry her hair.

”Damn it!”

Meanwhile, in a club in Beijing, a man receiving the email exploded with a curse, holding his phone and looking at it for a while, hardly believing his eyes.

Govert Griffin and the others were startled by his sudden outburst and looked at him.

”Mr. Vinson, what’s up?”

”Who sent Mr. Vinson a message that got you this worked up? Couldn’t be your girlfriend, could it?”

Caryn Zachmann was there too, the only girl present. She was dressed in an elegant Bvlgari dress, looking as if she was surrounded by stars, seated there with restraint and grace.

Hearing Govert and the others teasing Sadam Vinson about getting excited over a girlfriend’s message, she too curiously looked up, joining in on the gossip with a smile, ”Mr. Vinson has a girlfriend now?”
