The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 557: Chapter 557: If you’re looking for a hacker, I also know someone_1

”Amadeus was looking to find some information, but nobody was taking the job,” he added in explanation.

”Oh,” Caryn Zachmann was not interested in the affairs of hacker organizations. Hearing that Amadeus Yancey wanted to find a hacker, she casually said, ”If you guys are looking for a hacker, I happen to know someone.”

She saw Sadam Vinson’s gaze turn toward her.

With a reserved smile, knowing Lincoln Hoffman’s status in the domestic hacker community, she spoke with full confidence, softly saying, ”His last name is Hoffman, a student of my grandfather’s, and also a hacker. He has some fame in the country.”

Before Sadam Vinson could speak, Govert Griffin beside her couldn’t help but express his surprise and cut in, ”Ms. Zachmann, you’re not talking about the big shot Lincoln Hoffman, are you?”

Lincoln Hoffman’s name was one of the top in the domestic hacker field, inspiring envy in everyone present.

”Lincoln Hoffman is very prideful; he’s not someone who would take just any job easily. Getting him is harder than reaching the heavens. Recently, my family’s company had some issues, and my parents wanted to seek his help. They tried using several connections, but he refused to come,” the speaker said, looking at Caryn with admiration, barely concealing his envy, ”Indeed, it’s Ms. Zachmann who knows more people, even able to call on Lincoln Hoffman.”

It was very difficult to enter the inner circle of Sadam Vinson and Amadeus Yancey; up to now, Caryn Zachmann was the only girl who had successfully infiltrated this circle.

Without Amadeus there, not everyone Sadam Vinson called out to hang out tonight was from their inner circle, and some people on the periphery wanted to squeeze in.

Like this bird’s-nest-head speaking, a typical case of someone with a bit of money and connections at home, and knowing a few people, who had found a roundabout opportunity to cram into tonight’s gathering. Naturally, he was eager to please Sadam Vinson and the others.

But he didn’t dare to directly flatter Sadam Vinson with sycophantic flattery, thinking again and again until he hit upon a roundabout good method—starting from Caryn’s side!

He had been lavishing praise on Caryn all evening, praising her in all kinds of ways no matter what she said, subtly elevating her status.

This tactic was nothing new to the people in this circle, but Govert and the others couldn’t help but frown in scorn upon seeing his overt attempts to curry favor.

Only Caryn, riding high on flattery, found it pleasing and smiled faintly, saying, ”Mr. Hoffman is my elder, and I can only try to speak to him. I can’t guarantee he will agree to help. However...”

Her voice took a turn as she looked at Sadam Vinson earnestly, ”But if I tell him it involves you and Amadeus, he most likely won’t refuse.”

Lincoln Hoffman had some integrity and a reputation to uphold.

But that depended on whom he was dealing with.

Amadeus Yancey was also at the top of the pyramid in Beijing, and Sadam Vinson was no less formidable. Even if Lincoln Hoffman was above it all, he was still human and needed to eat.

He knew whom he could afford to offend and whom he could not.

Putting on airs in front of the right people was considered having integrity, being lofty, and not conforming to common practices.

In front of the wrong people, that was just asking for trouble!

Caryn was very aware that Lincoln Hoffman was not a fool, nor was he as uncompromising as Mr. Norton and others. Otherwise, he wouldn’t maintain a good relationship with her family. The last time she made a phone call asking Lincoln Hoffman to help her track down Lighten Chaser’s IP address, he ended up assisting, didn’t he?

Would he help with such trivial matters if it were anyone else?

She took out her phone, ready to make a phone call to Lincoln Hoffman.

At this moment, Sadam Vinson had already forwarded the email to Amadeus Yancey. Seeing her about to make a call, he immediately interrupted, ”No need.”
