The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 564: Chapter 564: What Did You Just Call Him?_1

She only saw one person carrying a coffee from the living room to the sofa.

Amadeus Yancey was stirring his coffee cup, his fingers well-defined, pale and slender; that hand was clean and handsome, perfectly suitable for a career as a hand model.

Today, he wore a long black coat paired with a shirt she had bought for him, accentuating his lean figure with straight, long legs.

Quite an eye-catcher!

Who wouldn’t want to see something beautiful first thing in the morning?

Nathalie Quinlan found it quite a cleanse for her eyes, at least providing a respite to her eyes, which had been assaulted by a post on the school forum.

She walked down the stairs.

Halfway down, the man lazily stirring his coffee looked up and saw her, his deep eyes slightly squinting, pupils reflecting her image.

”You’re up?”

”Yeah.”

Nathalie went over to the fridge, intending to grab a bottle of Evian water, but just as her hand touched the bottle, a hand quicker than hers took the Evian, propped on the fridge door and said quite domineeringly, ”You can’t drink cold water.”

”??”

Nathalie’s mind hadn’t caught up.

In the past, she did whatever she wanted; where did all these ’can’ts and don’ts’ come from?

Amadeus’s deep eyes seemed to see through what she was thinking; he half-squinted his eyes dangerously, thin red lips touching as he said, ”Forgot about your stomach ache last night?”

He shouldn’t have mentioned it; it reminded Nathalie of last night’s discomfort, her lower abdomen subconsciously recalling the tugging pain.

She frowned.

Her hand was already pulled away by him.

Amadeus closed the fridge door leisurely and said, ”Sit on the sofa for a while, wait for me; I’ll make you a cup of hot water.”

”Hmm.” Nathalie shrugged her shoulders, actually meaning to say she didn’t need cold water, and plain water would do.

But the man acted quickly, letting go of her hand and heading into the kitchen.

She had no choice but to obediently go over and sit down on the sofa, playing with her phone and sitting there waiting as he had advised.

It wasn’t too long before the man holding the cup came over.

The mug was the one she used often, bought for her by Audrick Zachmann and Lily, with a cat pattern on it. The mug was a brand, quite expensive, costing a five-figure sum, but it was comfortable to use.

She usually drank water from that mug.

This time, steam was rising from the mug, indicating he had made the water very hot for her.

”Drink slowly, it’s hot.”

”...” Nathalie took the mug, expecting it to contain coffee like his, only to find a Brown Sugar Tea with two Jujubes floating at the top.

Suddenly remembering Lowie Wilmar’s words, ”Red wine grapes and goji berries, essential for young people’s health,” her lips twitched. She looked up at the man next to her who was bending down to pick up his coffee cup, unable to resist saying, ”Amadeus, does Alfred Garland know you understand this stuff?”

He usually played it cool, yet he knew exactly what a girl should drink during her period.

She had meant it as a casual tease, but the man with the coffee responded with his deep eyes, raising an eyebrow, his gaze dominating as he asked, ”Hmm? What did you call me?”

Nathalie: ...

What had she just called him?

Amadeus?

That didn’t seem wrong.

Alfred Garland and Audrick usually called him that.

Once Nathalie thought this through, her body relaxed. She took a sip of the Brown Sugar Tea, the sweetness making her heart flutter with annoyance. Lifting her eyes, her clear black and white gaze met his as she answered nonchalantly, ”I called you Amadeus, is there something wrong with that?”
