The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 586: Chapter 586: Earn Two Million, Lose Two Hundred Million_1

”Amadeus, how should we deal with that batch of raw stones?”

Amadeus Yancey had deep-set eyes and a low voice, ”Just leave it there for now, let Sadam Vinson guard it until I get there.”

”Alright, I’ll let Mr. Vinson know.”

There was no music playing in the car, and Nathalie Quinlan hadn’t brought any earplugs, so she could hear Alfred Garland speaking. When she heard Garland calling her in her forties, she raised her eyebrows, reached up to push the brim of her hat down further, and slumped even more lazily in her seat. Her eyes were on her phone, and just then, it vibrated.

She looked down.

A message from @ilovebeingskinny.

Nathalie Quinlan clicked on the message to read it.

[@ilovebeingskinny: Boss, what’s the point of checking your own stuff?]

Nathalie Quinlan’s eyes were very dark as she typed slowly.

[sun: Didn’t pay attention while checking.]

[@ilovebeingskinny: Is that considered an excuse?!!!]

Nathalie Quinlan’s eyelashes fluttered slightly as she thought about his question and sent a reply.

[sun: I think it is.]

[@ilovebeingskinny: ...]

[@ilovebeingskinny: You’re awesome!]

Nathalie Quinlan saw his two messages flicker across her screen but didn’t reply. Soon enough, a new message popped up.

[@ilovebeingskinny: That batch of raw stones is worth at least a couple of billion. Just got word from the people below that the goods have been snatched away...]

Many people think the Red Alliance is just a hacker organization, and even many in the Illegal Zone believe that, but Emma Gabehart and a few others know that sun also deals with raw stones.

They transport raw stones from Terrafina and then resell them all over the world.

This business had been done by others before, carried out ruthlessly—essentially stealing the raw stones mined by the poor at low prices from Terrafina and bringing them back for sale in a bloodstained trade.

sun also traded in raw stones, but it seemed more like a legitimate transaction.

They had their own channel, cooperating with some impoverished locals, sharing 35 percent of the raw stone sales profits with them, buying their stones, processing, and selling them, then giving the money back to those people.

Doing it this way made the profit slightly thinner, but it was done with more humanity, which was why he always wanted to follow this boss’s lead.

Although their source of raw stones and sales resembled normal trade, they were inevitably connected to the Illegal Zone. Anything associated with the words ’Illegal Zone’ was considered black market goods at every port.

They took a loss on this batch of goods.

[@ilovebeingskinny: Boss, I know you have lots of money and don’t care about it. But please, before you impulsively take the next order, check what kind of job it is. If we keep losing like this, we’re going to go bankrupt sooner or later!! I don’t want to end up selling my ass in an Illegal Zone bar to pay debts.]

Nathalie Quinlan saw his last sentence, raised her eyebrows, and couldn’t resist the urge to let her lips curl up into a mischievous grin.

Her fingers tapped the keyboard to reply to his message.

[sun: Don’t worry, even for free, no one would want you for your looks. You could try to sell, but you’d need a buyer. I’d prefer to send you to work in a Terrafina mine; work a day, earn a day’s wage, no worries about unemployment.]

[@ilovebeingskinny: ...]

[@ilovebeingskinny: F*ck, you’re heartless!]

[@ilovebeingskinny: I could sell my ass in a minute, they call me the Whirlwind of Charm, dashing through the skies! But no matter how handsome I am, I can’t cope with the stunts you pull, boss. Billions in one go, me... I might not be able to cope. You take a job for two million and in turn give away billions... What kind of trading model is this, what’s the angle?]

Nathalie Quinlan lifted her eyelids, hiding the amusement in her eyes. She didn’t banter with him but replied quite seriously.

[sun: For a laugh?]

[@ilovebeingskinny: ...Boss, I like to laugh too. Can you take me into consideration? I’ll laugh for you every day until you go bankrupt.]
