The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 590: Chapter 590: Nathalie Arrives in Beijing_1

Myles Sullivan was more composed than she was. After pondering for a moment, he said, ”It shouldn’t be a foreign specialist. The old man has never trusted foreign doctors. Since falling ill, he has insisted on seeing domestic doctors. In China, the best brain surgery expert is Adelle Wafford. Since Mom has brought in Adelle Wafford, it’s unlikely they could find a better doctor than her...”

”That’s true.”

Ivy Wilmar nodded, her heart still very troubled. Looking up at him, she said, ”I still need to go back tomorrow. At such a critical time for Grandpa, I can’t let Mom face it alone.”

If it really was a stroke, it would involve the matter of dividing the family wealth.

With the Wilmar family’s large business and numerous members, dividing the wealth was no small matter. Whoever appeared more frequently at the old man’s bedside might end up with a different share.

Aren’t many people holding this thought, rushing back from other places?

Myles Sullivan, always mingling in the political arena, understood the twists and turns all too well, nodded, and said with a grave voice, ”Yes, it’s good for you to go back for a bit.”

Meanwhile, was even more infuriated by Ghania Quinlan.

If it hadn’t been for the mess with Jecksen Wilmar, Ivy Wilmar would have been able to return today, and now he also couldn’t return temporarily, as he needed to wait for the verdict on Jecksen Wilmar’s case.

The next day.

Nathalie Quinlan’s airplane took off from Capital Airport at ten in the morning.

Just off the airplane, she was entirely too languid, walking out of the plane’s tunnel with one hand tucked in her pocket and the other holding a black phone, with headphones plugged in, and a white wire tucked under her hat brim into her ear.

”Hello.”

Arriving in Beijing at ten, Nathalie Quinlan had taken the seven o’clock flight; she had gotten up at five to prepare, gathered her medication and some other items that might be needed. Audrick Zachmann had driven her to the airport and handled her airplane tickets; she went through security checks and could say she hardly slept at all that morning, feeling terribly sleepy now, half-closing her beautiful eyes, with a hint of sleepy red at the corners, which oddly gave her an impish charm.

As she passed by the vending machine, she casually bought a can of coffee, swiftly scanned to pay, and then bent down to pick up the coffee can from below, pulled the tab, and took a sip.

Beijing in October was colder than McKinney. It was a dry northern climate, and she found out that she was underdressed as soon as she got off the airplane.

Luckily, the vending machines here sold hot coffee. The warmth from the coffee transmitted through the palm of her hand, and Nathalie Quinlan felt a bit warmer, looking up and leaning there, glancing at the busy airport, then she dropped her eyelids and caught sight of her phone.

The incoming call was Amadeus Yancey.

The man on the other end had a deep and enticing voice, with a noisy background, ”Got off the airplane?”

”Just got off,” Nathalie Quinlan raised her head again, took another sip of coffee, her slender and fair hand holding the coffee can, lazily rotating it in her palm, her raven-black eyelashes shading her pupils, looking quite striking. After she responded, as if suddenly remembering, she awkwardly asked, ”And you?”

”Heh.” A light laughter came from the phone, as if spilling from his throat, like a plucked string, ”Is this a reciprocal concern?”

When Nathalie Quinlan asked, she didn’t think much of it, but hearing his response, she felt somewhat at a loss for words.

Thankfully, Amadeus Yancey just teased her briefly before immediately saying, ”I just got off the airplane, too, about to head over. I checked the time and figured you’d be arriving about now, so I thought I’d give you a call to check.”

He had left last night with Alfred Garland.

Nathalie Quinlan knew where he had gone without asking.

He must have gone to receive that shipment at the port.

Indeed, goods worth several hundred million...

She lifted the corners of her eyes, uttered a sound of acknowledgment, sleepy enough to blink, calculating that she got it.
