The Unveiling of Secret Queen

Chapter 565: Chapter 565: Didn’t You Always Call Me Amadeus_1

Amadeus Yancey watched her lazing on the sofa, raising that excessively pretty face. He even lazily asked herself what was wrong, his eyes slightly lowered with a light chuckle, very flirtatious, ”Nothing’s wrong. But haven’t you always called me ’Amadeus’?”

His voice was of the deep kind that was charming without even trying, and right now, Nathalie Quinlan seriously suspected he was doing it on purpose!

She pursed her lips, the brown sugar tea she was holding suddenly didn’t taste as sweet. To hide her restlessness, she buried her head and took a couple of sips before looking up, gathering her wits, and responding, ”I’ve also called you ’Uncle’ with Edric.”

What she meant was, if you find it inappropriate, calling you ’Uncle’ is also fine.

Amadeus Yancey was only teasing her a bit, but who knew she would render him speechless. He set down his coffee cup, rubbed his forehead, and with a helpless expression on his handsome face, said, ”Let’s forget ’Uncle,’ I’m not that old. Call me whatever you like, whatever you’re comfortable with.”

”Then Amadeus it is,” Nathalie Quinlan, rarely winning against him, felt rather pleased and readily agreed, ”They all call you Amadeus, it feels more natural for me to do the same.”

Before, she never thought calling him ’Amadeus’ was inappropriate, but after... the truth was revealed, she couldn’t be bothered to pretend in front of him.

To call him ’Amadeus’ again would always feel a bit strange.

Amadeus Yancey had no objections, especially seeing her obediently sipping the brown sugar tea he made for her, her eyebrows and eyes gradually relaxing. He turned his mischievous face towards her, looked up, and asked, ”Any plans for later, heading to school?”

Yesterday evening, Sadam Vinson had sent him an email saying that Red Alliance had taken their order and even provided a map of the goods, which made him highly suspect it was related to the girl in front of him.

But...

Amadeus Yancey, lips slightly pursed, was patient and didn’t rush to ask her, to avoid triggering her rebellious streak.

’Amadeus’ was much better than ’Uncle,’ and certainly better than... ’just a friend’!

After all, the relationship had progressed a step forward, hadn’t it?

Nathalie Quinlan, oblivious to what he was thinking, lowered her head and took a large sip of the brown sugar tea, which was still unbearably sweet, cloyingly so, sending a shiver through her chest, but at least it eased the faint ache in her stomach. She put the cup down, lifted the corners of her eyes and said lazily, ”Probably going to the hospital.”

”To the hospital?”

”Yeah,” Nathalie Quinlan nodded without any evasion, ”I want to go visit Uncle Cagwin and also get Freddy Cagwin to attend school.”

Freddy Cagwin was still unaware that his suspension had been rescinded. With the college entrance exams approaching, every day was crucial; he couldn’t keep skipping class indefinitely.

Freddy Cagwin... Amadeus Yancey squinted his eyes slightly, his raven-black eyelashes casting down, concealing the sharp glint in his eyes. It took a moment to recall who Freddy Cagwin was - apparently, a boy who often followed Nathalie Quinlan around, average-looking with a relatively introverted personality, not as conspicuous as Justin Wafford, yet whenever that boy looked at Nathalie Quinlan, there was more focus in his gaze than in Justin Wafford’s.

He didn’t take the young boy, who was not yet fully mature, to heart, and gracefully picked up the car keys. With an upright stature, he addressed the person on the sofa, ”Let’s go. I’m free today anyway; I’ll give you a ride.”

”Um, I can take a cab myself,” Nathalie Quinlan was not too keen on him giving her a ride, slowly getting up.

”This is a villa area. Even if you call a cab, it won’t be able to enter. I’m free anyway, and doing nothing is just as dull. Aunt Cagwin once treated me to hot and sour noodles, and her husband is not in good health. It’s only polite for me to visit the hospital.”

Nathalie Quinlan: ”...” He would go to the hospital just because she treated him to a bowl of hot and sour noodles, worth seven bucks?
