Chapter 197: Chapter 200: Just Take a Knife to Your Throat

Chapter 200: Might as Well Slit My Throat

Looking at the man in front of him with a bronze mask, like a demon, Xiang Shaotao’s heart nearly jumped to his throat, frightened that a slight wrong tone could lead to the loss of his life, especially in such a chaotic society as this, who knows what his fate would be any moment.

Seeing Xiang Shaotao’s pitiful state, Lin Zifeng sneered secretly in his heart. When you were bullying others, why didn’t you think about this outcome?

Now he was pleading pathetically like a pug, as miserable as can be.

Lin Zifeng casually pulled out a contract from his pocket and placed it in front of Xiang Shaotao, his sinister chuckle cutting through the air, ”What’s your relationship with Sun Ziliang?”

Sun Ziliang?

Xiang Shaotao was confused for a moment, looking doubtfully at the man in the bronze mask, his mind whirling without a clue as to why he was approached, nor why Sun Ziliang was mentioned.

”He’s just an ordinary business acquaintance, nothing more. May I know why you’re asking about him, big brother?”

Fear crept into Xiang Shaotao, fearing that due to Sun Ziliang, he might suffer a beating, so he tried to downplay their relationship as much as possible to gain some favor for himself.

”Oh? Just ordinary friends, that simple?” Lin Zifeng frowned, his gaze piercing into Xiang Shaotao’s heart, ”You should know Nangong Bing from Tianyu Group, right?”

Lin Zifeng extended his right hand and started reaching toward Xiang Shaotao’s arm, immediately frightening him so much he almost urinated, his body trembling as he quickly explained, ”I know her! I know her! She’s one of my partners, the highest director of Tianyu Group.”

”Then you should know her current whereabouts?” Lin Zifeng stared at him, half-smiling, especially as his grip tightened on Xiang Shaotao’s arm, his portly frame seemingly crushed by a powerful iron plate.

The fear from the depths of his soul almost made Xiang Shaotao wet his pants.

Just now, his face had been repeatedly slapped by Lin Zifeng, and the bruises still remained; he didn’t dare offend this Bodhisattva.

”Big brother, if you want to know the whereabouts of Nangong Bing from Tianyu Group, I can tell you anytime. I heard that this Nangong Bing is also the number one beauty in the business community of Zhonghai City. If you like this type, brother, I can help you, as long as you don’t mind.”

At this point, Xiang Shaotao, the old fox, had completely misinterpreted Lin Zifeng’s intentions; the cold sweat on his forehead was about to drip down his pants, his increasingly flushed face was somewhat agitated, terrified that if Lin Zifeng were unhappy, his own life might end here. And very willingly playing the submissive role.

”You seem quite familiar with Nangong Bing?” Lin Zifeng’s smile was eerie, staring half-smilingly at him.

”Big brother, Nangong Bing is to me...” Xiang Shaotao had not finished speaking when Lin Zifeng’s hand had already moved.

With a ”snap”, Xiang Shaotao’s old arm had completely deformed. Followed by a scream as if slaughtering a pig. No matter how desperately Xiang Shaotao pleaded, Lin Zifeng still showed a harmless expression, as Xiang Shaotao was almost crying for his parents in pain.

”Was it you who released the news that Nangong Bing came to Yanjing City? Oh, I forgot to tell you, that guy named Sun, your so-called ordinary friend Sun Ziliang, has been killed by me. If you want to live peacefully for a few more years, you should know what to do next, right?”

As Lin Zifeng gradually increased the pressure in his hand, Xiang Shaotao, no matter how resilient he was, at that moment lost all his will. His own life was hanging by a thread; he had no spare energy to care about the life and death of others.

However, upon hearing that Lin Zifeng had slain Sun Ziliang, he was still somewhat shocked! After all, Sun Ziliang came from a prominent family in Yanjing. How could he be killed just like that? Most importantly, Sun Ziliang’s wife and his family had connections that could create issues with the military. If what Lin Zifeng said was true, it could cause a huge uproar in Yanjing!

But now, even if he didn’t cooperate with Lin Zifeng, would his own life still be safe?

Xiang Shaotao calculated quickly in his mind.

As Lin Zifeng’s methods grew increasingly cruel, Xiang Shaotao eventually was forced to compromise, repeatedly assuring Lin Zifeng that he knew what to do.

After doing all this, Lin Zifeng also felt relieved. Since he had already agreed to his demands, there was no need to blow things out of proportion—after all, someone else was already handling the cleanup.

”I hope you understand my intent, given your years of experience in Yanjing City. The death of one person, you should be able to handle it neatly, right? I would hate to have to go out of my way to have a chat with you later,” Lin Zifeng said with a smirk, patting Xiang Shaotao’s plump, chubby face, acting as if it was not a big deal at all; however, in Xiang Shaotao’s heart, anxiety was killing him. Now that Sun Ziliang was dead, how much effort would it take him to smooth things over?

One wrong move, and he would truly have no good end.

But now, with people already unknowingly targeting him, where did he have the courage to back down or fight back?

”Absolutely! Absolutely! Don’t worry, brother, I’ll handle this situation thoroughly for you.” Xiang Shaotao’s face turned ghostly pale, trying his best to squeeze out a benevolent smile from his swollen face, which looked like a steamed bun, not knowing he felt like dying.

Looking at his arm, which Lin Zifeng had broken, Xiang Shaotao was in agony, experiencing a level of pain he had never encountered before in his life. This tragic, infuriating situation was happening to him; how could he not be terrified?

”Heh heh, since you know what to do, don’t let me down later,” Lin Zifeng’s hoarse, muted voice revolved around Xiang Shaotao’s ears like demon’s march, especially when he pinched Xiang Shaotao’s chubby cheeks purposely as he was leaving, causing Xiang Shaotao’s mouth to bleed profusely. He almost wished he could just bang his head against something and die, wondering if it was all intentional.

After Lin Zifeng left, Xiang Shaotao was completely dumbfounded.

When a group of bodyguards, driving their cars, found him, the old guy already had a face as white as paper, his entire face swollen like watermelon rind. The most amusing part was that his yellow teeth, from smoking cigars all year round, were all knocked out, leaving his mouth empty, and one of his arms completely deformed.

With a big belly, he looked like a pregnant woman about to give birth.

When Xiang Shaotao regained his senses, he screamed in pain, furiously cursing the bodyguards as useless.

They were less useful than keeping a dog.

Touching his swollen face, Xiang Shaotao felt like crying. Life was such; he might as well take a knife and slit his throat.
