Chapter 166: Time is a Butcher Knife

Time had flown by, and five years had already passed.

When Lin Zifeng’s uncle saw him again, he almost burst with excitement!

Especially now that Lin Zifeng had grown into a real man.

Although five years ago, when his parents were still alive, Lin Zifeng’s uncle had always looked down on them, time had passed, and after not seeing each other for five years, he indeed missed them terribly.

Five years ago, he was just a young boy, always loitering around town with Liu Laowu and others, smoking cigarettes, a prodigal youth who would grow into a remarkable young man today.

Not only did his appearance mature a lot, but his demeanor also became more restrained, lending him an approachable aura.

”Zi... Zifeng? Is... is that really you?”

The middle-aged man seemed a bit excited and happy, with his cloudy, yellowish eyes almost streaked with tears.

Standing at the doorstep in a daze, Lin Zifeng then came to his senses.

”Uncle!”

Lin Zifeng was also stunned, not expecting to run into his father’s brother here! He suddenly became somewhat excited.

”Zifeng, is it really you who has returned?”

The middle-aged man’s hands trembled slightly, his face full of wrinkles and pale, drained of color, appearing rather excited. Even his eyes seemed to be on the verge of tears.

The middle-aged man appearing before Lin Zifeng was named Lin Yousheng, Lin Zifeng’s father’s older brother, and they shared a family bloodline connection. However, since Lin Yousheng’s wife had always looked down on Lin Zifeng’s family, they had bought a house in town eight years ago. His son was involved in the building materials business locally, forming a small-capital family,

At home, Lin Yousheng’s wife dominated, controlling almost all major decisions. Lin Yousheng had a lingering illness from his youth, which left him unable to work, distancing him from all household matters. However, as time went by, even a person who ate without working, no matter how high their status, would be neglected by his wife.

Today, his son had opened a chain of building material stores in town, so Lin Yousheng sent invitations to his old village friends. By chance, he passed by Lin Zifeng’s doorstep, but unexpectedly ran into Lin Zifeng.

Looking at his uncle, who appeared frail and much older than his years, Lin Zifeng felt a pang of pity, but every family had its own difficult scripts, and even if he wanted to help, he likely lacked the capability.

It was evident that his uncle too was not having an easy life.

”Uncle, it’s me! I have returned.”

Lin Zifeng hurriedly approached and grasped Lin Yousheng’s calloused hand, feeling its warmth as well as his aged cheeks. Lin Zifeng couldn’t help but lament that time is truly a butcher’s knife, turning the once dashing Lin Yousheng into what he is now. Lin Zifeng vaguely remembered being held by Uncle Lin as a child, but now...

Time is a butcher’s knife, it blacks the fungus and softens the banana.

”It’s good you’re back, good you’re back. Where have you been all these years?” Lin Yousheng scrutinized the changes in Lin Zifeng, realizing that Lin Zifeng had matured far more than just a bit. In terms of temperament alone, he was vastly different from before, especially for someone as old as Lin Yousheng who tended to be more perceptive than most.

”Uncle Lin, what brings you here?”

”Oh, today your cousin opened another building materials store in town, so I came to distribute invitations to some old friends.”

Upon being asked by Lin Zifeng, Lin Yousheng felt some pride, his beloved son was now making quite a name for himself, which delighted any father more than anyone else.

But at the mention of Lin Yulong Zifeng, Lin Zifeng couldn’t help but smile bitterly, recalling the person who used to talk about him every day, always saying he was bound to end up in jail one day. He couldn’t believe he was now doing so well. Thinking about it, he felt quite pathetic, his cousin had actually guessed right, he really hadn’t amounted to much.

In the midst of their warm exchange, in the dark alley, a well-built woman, heavily made up, slowly emerged after checking her surroundings before making her way forward.

”Well, if it isn’t little Zifeng? When did you get back? You’ve grown so much? Auntie Wang here hardly recognizes you anymore.”

While Lin Zifeng and Lin Yousheng were having a heart-to-heart, the famous beauty of the village, Widow Wang, appeared from nowhere. Dressed flamboyantly and acting provocatively, she seemed to have spotted Lin Zifeng from afar but couldn’t make out his face at first, so she approached to confirm, and indeed, it was Lin Zifeng. Having not seen him for five years, she had almost failed to recognize him.

Er... little one? Who’s your little one, huh! I’m a real man! A champ who can go all night!

Lin Zifeng rolled his eyes, cursing silently. If it weren’t for Lin Yousheng being there, he might have even flirted back with her.

Widow Wang was a renowned beauty in the village when she was young because of her stunning looks. However, due to her lazy nature, she married a rich landlord of the village. But alas, a few years later, during an enthusiastic night, the landlord exerted himself too much and suddenly shuddered mid-act, dying on the spot!

Thus Widow Wang, having been left a considerable fortune, had been living alone for nearly a decade, her seductive aura unmitigated. With women reaching their sexual peak in their thirties and her husband dead, who wouldn’t contemplate an affair? Moreover, she was not a woman to preserve her chastity. Many men in the village lusted after her beauty, but given Widow Wang’s bold spirit, not many dared to approach her.

And here she was, the same woman who had enjoyed teasing Lin Zifeng since he was a boy, reappearing after five years. She had almost not recognized him.

Widow Wang was exactly five years older than Lin Zifeng. She used to live right across from Lin Zifeng’s home, often dropping by for a visit. After Lin Zifeng left his home, there had been no contact at all, and by relation, Widow Wang was actually a distant relative who should be called Auntie Wang.

Lin Zifeng still vividly remembered how Widow Wang used to flick his little penis when he was just ten years old and she was sixteen, in the full blossom of youth. How utterly embarrassing it was for a ten-year-old boy to be teased by her.

Back then, Lin Zifeng, being the cute, free-spirited child in contrast to the more delicate, fussy children at home, was the only one Widow Wang fooled around with. That’s why, all grown up, Lin Zifeng didn’t like seeing Widow Wang because each time they met, she would joke, ”I wonder if your little penis has grown any bigger. I used to play with it every day when you were small!”

The audacity she had to say such things without a hint of regret really put ’little Lin Zifeng’ in an awkward spot...
