Chapter 154: Chapter 153: Outnumbering and Bullying the Few

Chapter 153: Outnumbered and Bullied

Seeing them just smoking without speaking, the man pleaded again, ”Look, guys, we’ve smoked the cigarettes, can you do me a favor now?”

But as soon as the man finished speaking, the seven or eight security guards blatantly ignored him.

Who said we have to help you just because you gave us cigarettes? Do we even know you?

Seeing them so leisurely and not paying him any attention, the man became angry. After all the sweet talk and even giving away cigarettes he was reluctant to smoke himself, not to get even a word of acknowledgment in return nearly drove him up the wall.

”I’m telling you guys, it’s not right to do business like this,” said the man, hands on his hips, looking menacing. ”You’ve smoked the cigarettes, you should at least drop a word or two.” Seeing that they wouldn’t listen to reason, he decided to try a tougher approach.

Yet the security brothers still ignored him, chatting among themselves as if the man was just a piece of insignificant air. We don’t know you, so why should we care?

”Fuck your mother! You guys...” The man finally couldn’t restrain himself. He was a company white-collar worker, after all, humbling himself to give them cigarettes he himself was loath to smoke, yet they still snubbed him. His patience had finally worn thin.

”Your mom’s a bitch! Who the hell are you cussing at?”

”You little runt, who are you cursing at?”

”Are you sick and tired of living?”

Instantly, the man’s angry curse ignited a fury among the crowd. The security brothers didn’t care who he was; as long as he wasn’t one of the Tianyu Group’s jerks, everyone was eager to go after him. And why not! After all, Nangong Bing’s protectiveness was infamous.

The security brothers crowded around the man, half-pushing and half-shoving him to the point where he didn’t dare utter a word.

”Alright! Are you bullying me because you’re in larger numbers?”

The man glared, stepping back incrementally, well aware of his fear, yet on the surface, he spitefully blustered. The more contemptible his expressions and gestures, the more pointed his finger as he furiously berated the security brothers.

Meanwhile, Lin Zifeng and his companions all had a strange, mocking smile, closing in on the man step by step.

”So what if we’re bullying you because we’re more and you’re fewer? If you’re so capable, why don’t you call for backup?”

The security brothers might not have money, but they were rich in loyalty—bullying others was something they didn’t do half-heartedly.

”You just wait! All of you just wait!” The man admitted defeat for today.

He stepped backward toward the car, talking tough though his heart had already turned cowardly.

In the end, Lin Zifeng and the others forced him to abandon his car and flee.

At the critical moment, he deliberately pointed at Jia Zhenjing and his group with his finger, suggesting, ”You punks just wait.”

For such an idiot, Jia Zhenjing couldn’t bother to care. A group of security brothers arrogantly laughed out loud, as if to say, ”If you dare, come at us with a brick. I’ll be waiting for you, bro.”

The young and beautiful woman who had previously looked down on Jia Zhenjing and the others now scurried away like a scolded dog, hastily hailing a cab to rush into the company. She even lashed out at the man, with a burst of anger, spewing phrases like ”Don’t come looking for me ever again.” The man became furiously incensed, cursing unrestrainedly: ”You whore.”

After almost another fifteen minutes, finally someone gave up their ’leisure’, as some people were clearly hogging the squat without doing their business—eating is fine, but why the desperate need to chat?

A minor commotion came to a sudden halt, but as everyone took their seats, a pink Porsche sped towards the café next to the restaurant.

The model of the Porsche was quite novel and unique. During the ignorant period of his passionate youth, Lin Zifeng had once fantasized about having such a sports car. Now, for him, such cars were nothing more than eye candy, hardly worth mentioning.

However, with a sense of appreciation, Lin Zifeng took a good look at the car model, but the first to step out was a middle-aged, balding, and fat man.

For such a corpulent beast, Lin Zifeng had no taste to appreciate. However, just as his piercing star-like eyes were about to look away, he saw a woman with a few purple streaks in her hair—Zhao Xuemo, dressed in a black OL (office lady) suit.

The woman’s mature charisma was indeed quite appealing. Far different from Mu Yang’s flamboyant and exhibitionist charm, her aura was extremely contained.

The last time at the security gate, he still vividly remembered how this unassuming woman engaged in a fierce verbal battle with Sun Xiaonao from the Trade Department. Despite only a few seemingly casual remarks, she directly hit Sun Xiaonao, notorious for her shrewishness, leaving her without a temper.

Even the computer theft case in the company’s security warehouse a few days ago had a significant connection to Sun Xiaonao, with the intended victim being Zhao Xuemo herself.

Just what kind of woman was she? Lin Zifeng found himself staring in a daze for a few moments longer.

Today, Zhao Xuemo dressed relatively conservatively and stylishly, wearing a simple but not extravagant gray and white women’s business suit on the top and a black skirt with light pink accents below. The delicate white-beige stockings were both luxurious and low-key. On her wrist was a black branded women’s watch, obviously from Seagull, showing she had some taste indeed.

With black sunglasses almost completely covering her pretty face, her pure white and jade-like visage still couldn’t hide her elegance and beauty.

The middle-aged, overweight man first courteously helped Zhao Xuemo out of the car, then naturally moved forward to wrap his arms around her slender, silk-like waist, but Zhao Xuemo clearly shrank away from him.

Slightly twisting her body to resist his intrusion. From the little expression on her face, she was extremely reluctant to interact with this man; however, due to work obligations, she had no choice but to engage in business talks with him. Being a PR department head was absolutely not as idle as working in the security department—almost every day, she had to accompany clients for meals and socialize. In society, they had to learn how to handle all sorts of people. Not an easy task for the average person.

The term PR, in many people’s eyes, often conveys the wrong impression. However, PR within a corporate group is definitely not just that simple meaning. Not only must they look attractive, but they must also be capable of handling any incidents that might suddenly arise. Sometimes, while discussing contracts with others, many people are actually more interested in their beauty, using business as a pretext to hit on them. As such, for the sake of smooth career progression, most of these women have experienced accompanying clients through meals, drinks, and even sleeping with them.

Thus, the job of a PR is certainly not as glamorous as it seems.

Although the benefits aren’t bad, life isn’t as shining as some imagine.

Some PRs are even workaholics, spending the day sleeping with multiple clients, and afterwards, these businessmen still might not sign any contracts with them. Such wily old foxes are numerous on the market.

It seems Zhao Xuemo had encountered just such a sly businessman today.
