After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2296: Chapter 2300: Don’t Get Me Into Trouble

”You should know very well, I only need one person as a hostage.” Luo Ke curled his lips coldly, then shot a look at the bodyguard beside him. ”Go take a look.”

He had always been suspicious by nature, so of course he wouldn’t really believe what Leng Zirui said.

To ensure his own safety, he naturally had to leave this dangerous task to someone else.

The bodyguard was reluctant, but he didn’t dare disobey the order. Dragging his injured arm, he carefully walked toward Leng Zirui, step by step.

Supporting the gun with his uninjured arm, his gaze was locked on Leng Zirui, afraid Zirui would suddenly attack him.

Leng Zirui stood where he was with both hands raised. His eyes appeared to be fixed on the bodyguard and Luo Ke, but his real focus was the door behind them.

Big Bro, come on, hurry up!

Through the door behind them, Leng Zimo had already rushed into the weapons room.

Inside the weapons room, there was practically nothing left; all the racks were already empty.

Most of the weapons had been moved out earlier when Luo Ke was preparing to go up against Lei Qingqing. The remaining ones had just been divided up by the bodyguards, and the last few rifles had already been taken by Luo Ke and his men. He rummaged around for a long time, but couldn’t find a usable gun.

Worried about Leng Zirui, Leng Zimo didn’t dare waste too much time. Hearing the gunfire outside stop, anxiety spiked in his chest and he immediately sprinted toward the stairs.

Leng Zirui saw Leng Zimo’s figure appear at the edge of the doorway, and a flash of joy crossed his eyes. But when he saw Zimo’s empty hands, that joy turned to pure shock. Afraid Luo Ke would notice something, he forced himself not to show it.

Leng Zimo spread his hands toward him, indicating it wasn’t that he didn’t want to grab anything, but that there were no weapons left. Then he lifted a hand and pointed at Luo Ke.

The two brothers had always had tacit understanding. Leng Zirui knew Leng Zimo meant for him to hold Luo Ke’s attention so Zimo would have a chance to attack from behind.

Catching Leng Zimo’s signal, Leng Zirui immediately turned his face toward the empty patch of grass beside him, urgency written all over his expression.

”Bro, how are you... Bro, say something... Don’t screw me over... If you die, how am I supposed to explain it to Xiao Qian, Bro...” ℯℯ𝑙.

He deliberately shouted loudly, drawing the attention of the bodyguard and Luo Ke.

Luo Ke narrowed his eyes at Leng Zirui. Seeing how convincing the act was, the bodyguard became even more certain that Leng Zimo was really beside Zirui. He relaxed a little and strode over, looking toward Zirui’s side.

When he saw nothing but empty grass, the bodyguard’s face changed abruptly.

Seizing the chance, Leng Zirui suddenly lunged forward with both hands and grabbed for the bodyguard’s gun.

Seeing his movement, Luo Ke realized he’d been duped and immediately pulled the trigger.

But Leng Zirui had already thrown himself straight backward. With the hard yank, the bodyguard’s body lost control and pitched forward, just in time to serve as a shield against the bullets Luo Ke fired.

At the same time, Leng Zirui had already shoved the muzzle aside, and every bullet the bodyguard fired went wide.

Seeing things go south, Luo Ke tried to rush over, but Leng Zimo had already closed in behind him. Like a starving tiger, he pounced; Luo Ke heard the movement at his back and started to turn with his gun, but it was already too late. Just as he turned, Leng Zimo tackled him hard to the ground.

Luo Ke raised the gun, trying to fire. Leng Zimo swung his fist, smashing it viciously into Luo Ke’s left elbow joint.
