After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2255: Chapter 2259: So Busy Yet Still Finds Time to Go Shopping

Leng Zirui took the empty cup from her hand. ”Go freshen up, there’s pajamas in the bag...”

Outside the door, a knock sounded, followed by Ah Ke’s voice. ”Mr. ROY, we should go.”

”Coming,” Leng Zirui replied loudly, raising his hand to pinch her face. ”Be good, I’ll be back soon.”

Xu Xia grabbed his hand, stood up, and approached to give him a kiss on the cheek. ”I’ll wait for you.”

”No need to wait for me, just sleep well, lock the door, that’s enough. That door... won’t stop me,” Leng Zirui pecked her cheek lightly. ”I’m leaving!”

Xu Xia walked him to the door, then chased to the window, pulled open the curtain, and watched their car drive away before retreating back to the room. She opened the paper bag he left on the floor, and indeed found neatly folded women’s clothes inside—there were pajamas, underwear, sportswear, even a pair of comfortable flat shoes and two pairs of cotton socks.

”This guy... so busy yet has the leisure to go shopping.”

Xu Xia pursed her lips, her tone seemingly indifferent, but her heart was filled with a feeling sweeter than ice cream.

...

...

In the car.

Leng Zirui glanced at his watch once more. ”Who’s the buyer?”

”Someone from France, everyone calls him ’Gentleman,’” Ah Ke replied.

Given the current situation, their weapons couldn’t have a legitimate source; they all came from sellers Ah Ke contacted.

”Gentleman?!” Leng Zirui raised an eyebrow, not having any information on that name.

”Yes, I’ve heard he’s Asian, seems quite young, but I’ve never met him myself. I only know one of his assistants,” Ah Ke said.

Leng Zirui slightly raised his brow. ”Is he reliable?”

”We did business before in the United States; very reliable,” Ah Ke answered.

Leng Zirui nodded and did not ask further.

The car drove all the way to the outskirts, passing through a sylvan path and arriving at a dilapidated water treatment plant nearby. Mount Tai stopped the car, and together with Ah Ke and two subordinates from the car behind, walked into the water treatment plant.

Leng Zirui also got out of the car but did not enter directly; instead, he casually walked into the woods beside the road, observing his surroundings.

In such a transaction, he didn’t need to appear, intentionally following along was just to guard against unexpected issues.

Not long after they left, two cars approached from the opposite direction. One of the cars stopped, someone got out, and then the other two cars continued to drive into the water treatment plant.

Leng Zirui watched the person who got out from afar; there were no street lights here, making it difficult to see the person’s face clearly, only vaguely discerning that they were tall.

Could it be that this person is ”Gentleman”?!

Interestingly enough, the person’s phone suddenly vibrated. He took it out of his pocket, glanced at it, and instead of hanging up, he answered the call and brought the phone to his face.

The phone’s light allowed Leng Zirui to see the man’s face clearly.

Dark eyes and hair, clearly an Asian face, probably about twenty-seven or twenty-eight years old, quite handsome and dashing.

”Xiao Bei, what’s up? Why call so late?” Mo Wen asked softly into the phone.

”Nothing, just checking if you’ve arrived safely,” Mo Bei asked on the other end.

Mo Wen laughed. ”I’ve already arrived. Now I’m standing on a street in Rome. Want to come and have fun for a few days?”

”Forget it, I’m really not in the mood for traveling right now. Since you’ve arrived safely, I’m relieved. There are plenty of beautiful women in Italy; enjoy yourself.”
