After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2273: Chapter 2277: No Answer on the Phone

”Sir.” A subordinate walked over, ”The phone on the island isn’t connecting.”

”What’s going on?” Luo Ke slightly furrowed his eyebrows.

Just now, before eating and sleeping, he routinely went to check on Luo Xiaoqian, only to find the screen completely black, as if all the surveillance equipment had failed. Luo Ke worried something was wrong on the island, so he immediately ordered his subordinate to call back to the island.

”Well...” The subordinate shrugged, ”The phone is not being answered.”

”What’s wrong?” Leng Zirui asked, feigning confusion.

”The island’s surveillance has completely failed. I’m worried that something might have gone wrong.” Luo Ke said with a frown.

”Your damn island had a power outage last time too. If you ask me, it’s probably the same problem as this castle, most likely another electrical fault.” Leng Zirui sneered, ”Once this matter is over, get a few engineers to thoroughly check the circuitry.”

Luo Ke wasn’t as relaxed as Leng Zirui appeared, and immediately took out his phone to personally call the island.

The call connected, but no one answered. Luo Ke’s brows furrowed even more tightly. He hung up the phone and stood up.

”Prepare the plane, return to the island immediately.”

”You can’t.” Leng Zirui immediately stopped him, ”Sir, we’ve prepared so long for this day. If you leave now, how will the plan proceed?”

”I believe in your ability.” Luo Ke said.

”But don’t forget, if they don’t see you, Lei’s duo won’t trust me. By then, everything will be in vain.” Leng Zirui said seriously.

Luo Ke pursed his lips. He understood Leng Zirui’s reasoning perfectly, but thinking about not knowing what had happened to Luo Xiaoqian, how could he not be worried?

”It’s just a woman, after all. How did you evaluate me before, sir?” Leng Zirui snorted dismissively, ”As long as you successfully complete today’s mission, the whole of Italy, even Europe, is yours. Do you really fear you can’t control one woman?”

Everything was ready, only the crucial eastern wind was missing. If Luo Ke slipped away now, Lei’s side would certainly be suspicious, and the whole plan could be exposed, making it difficult to find another chance.

This time, no matter what, he had to find a way to get Luo Ke to the cemetery.

”I don’t need you to tell me what to do.” Luo Ke growled unpleasantly.

”That’s right, because you’re the boss.” Leng Zirui’s face also turned stern, ”However, I don’t want the Mr. Luo Ke I always trusted to disappoint me, to disappoint all the brothers. This opportunity, if lost, will never come again, do you understand?”

”Sir!” The butler cautiously approached, ”How about I take a few people to the island to check the situation? Maybe it’s just a misunderstanding. I’ll contact you immediately if there’s any news.”

”Sir.” Ah Ke also stepped forward to persuade, ”Mr. ROY has put a lot of effort this time to fool that old fox Lei Wenting. You definitely can’t give up now.”

Luo Ke hesitated for a moment, the coldness on his face gradually softened.

”Butler, you immediately take people to the island to find out the truth. The rest, come with me to the cemetery.”

Only then did everyone start to move, getting into their respective cars. Leng Zirui sat in the car with Luo Ke, secretly breathing a sigh of relief.

”Don’t worry, I guess this is definitely just a minor accident. Sissi will be fine.”

Luo Ke remained silent with a stern face, and Leng Zirui, knowing he was in a bad mood, didn’t say anything more.
