After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2251: Chapter 2255: I’m Not Allowed to Move

”Of course.” Leng Zimo withdrew his hand. ”Go ahead, have the maid bring some wine for everyone to drink.”

Luo Xiaoqian followed suit, stepped outside, and instructed the maid to bring the wine while helping to set the table.

In the kitchen, Leng Zimo first prepared some cold dishes and various accompaniments for the wine, then brought them to the table.

When Luo Xiaoqian sat down in the main seat, the bodyguards had already arrived one after another.

This time, Adam was also among them; he had finished his day shift and was now at rest.

Seeing the wine brought by the maid, the bodyguards were visibly excited. The wine stored on the island was of considerable age and quality, though usually they could only enjoy ordinary drinks due to Luo Ke’s pressure, not daring to indulge excessively.

Today, the lady had actually brought out all this fine wine, and these men were already struggling to hold back.

”Ma’am?” Adam, being more familiar with Luo Ke, felt something was amiss, ”This wine...”

”What?” Luo Xiaoqian raised her face, ”Am I not allowed to touch this wine?”

”Ah... I didn’t mean that, I meant...”

Luo Xiaoqian took the wine bottle from the maid’s hand and filled up Adam’s glass.

”I know, everyone works hard on the island. This time, I’m offering drinks on behalf of the gentleman, hoping that everyone will continue to assist him in his work.” Passing the bottle to the maid, Luo Xiaoqian raised her own juice glass. ”The first toast is from me to all of you.”

”Thank you, ma’am!”

...

Everyone raised their glasses, and Adam, unable to say more, had to lift his glass as well.

After everyone finished the first glass of wine, Leng Zimo brought over the last two plates, greeted Adam proactively.

Luo Xiaoqian took advantage of the situation, gesturing for Leng Zimo to sit and join in.

”Yes, you should also sit down and join us.”

Adam recalled his lunchtime conversation with the two, quickly moved the bodyguard seated next to him further away, and pulled Leng Zimo to the empty seat by his side. The maid then brought a set of tableware for Leng Zimo.

”This gentleman will become one of us in the future.” Adam patted Leng Zimo’s shoulder, ”You all need to take good care of him.”

Everyone had a good impression of Leng Zimo. Hearing that he would join them, they smiled and agreed.

Leng Zimo then took the initiative to toast everyone.

A round of drinks later, everyone had drunk quite a bit. Leng Zimo poured Adam two more glasses, everyone showing signs of intoxication. Seeing the time was about right, he let them continue while he went into the kitchen to cook dumplings.

A moment later, the dumplings were brought to the table.

He first served a plate to Luo Xiaoqian, whose dumplings were orange heart-shaped ones, while everyone else’s dumplings were randomly scooped, varying in color and shape. Even when sober, such minor details would likely go unnoticed by them, let alone now when they were a bit drunk.

”Everyone, taste these Chinese dumplings and compare them to our Italian-style ones to see which is tastier,” Leng Zimo said with a smile.

The group had eaten heartily at lunch, and upon seeing the dumplings, they immediately started digging in unreservedly. To mask the medicinal taste in the filling, Leng Zimo added plenty of spices, making the flavor heavy and particularly delicious. Everyone praised the dish lavishly, unknowingly finishing the dumplings on their own plates cleanly.
