After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 2286: Chapter 2290: Did You Find Anything

”Then, you must be Officer Qiao!” Xu Xia smiled as she shook hands with him.

Leng Zirui’s description of Qiao was simple yet very perceptive, and Xu Xia only had to see the black mole beneath his eyebrow to know he was indeed Qiao.

To say the least, this one did bear some resemblance to Obama.

”Miss Xu knows me?” Qiao was somewhat surprised.

”I heard Rui say you look like Obama,” Xu Xia replied with a smile.

Qiao also laughed, and Leng Zirui glanced at the busy staff in the distance, lightly patting Xu Xia’s hand, ”Wait for me in the car.”

Xu Xia understood they needed to discuss serious matters, and it was inconvenient for her to be present, so she waved goodbye to Qiao and turned to return to the car.

”Not lacking in charm,” Qiao laughed.

”Of course,” Leng Zirui wasn’t shy about the pride in his tone, and then he got serious again, ”Have you found anything?”

Qiao shook his head lightly, ”Nothing of any value has been found.”

Buzz!

Qiao’s phone vibrated in his pocket. He reached out and took it out, listened for a while, and immediately said, ”Okay, I’m coming over now.”

Hanging up the phone, Qiao casually pocketed the phone, ”Lei Wenting has been caught; he... didn’t resist.”

Leng Zirui listened, but there wasn’t much joy on his face, ”That Old Fox anticipated we wouldn’t catch Lei Qingqing.”

At present, catching Lei Wenting didn’t hold much significance.

This Old Fox is more cunning than Luo Ke, handling everything by letting Lei Qingqing take the lead. If they can’t find Lei Qingqing, there’s not enough evidence to prove Lei Wenting’s crimes. Because of Lei Wenting’s influence in Rome and throughout Italy, this matter is bound to attract media attention. Within 24 hours, if no evidence is found, they must release him.

Qiao shrugged, helpless as well. That’s how the law is; it relies on evidence.

As public officials, they inevitably must abide by these conditions.

”Boss!” A staff member with a badge hurriedly ran over with a phone, ”Luo Ke’s car has been found.”

”Where?” Leng Zirui eagerly asked.

The staff member glanced at Qiao, and Qiao gently tilted his head towards Leng Zirui, so the staff handed the phone to Leng Zirui.

Leng Zirui took the phone, asked a few simple questions, and the other party informed him of the specific location and situation.

”Okay, I’ll be right there.” Handing the phone back to the staff member, Leng Zirui extended his hand to Qiao, ”I’ll take care of Luo Ke’s matter. If there’s any progress, I’ll contact you immediately.”

”Good, we’ll keep in touch.” Qiao grasped his hand and handed him a credential, ”If you need help, feel free to reach out.”

Leng Zirui nodded, took the work card he handed over, turned around, and ran to the car, getting in and starting it.

”Where are we going?!” Xu Xia asked curiously.

”To find Luo Ke,” Leng Zirui said as he started the car.

The car headed straight for the suburbs, quickly reaching the location Leng Zirui had learned about on the phone earlier. Indeed, he could see from a distance that two police cars were parked by the roadside, and not far away was a black car, the one Luo Ke had escaped in earlier.

Leng Zirui instructed Xu Xia to stay in the car, while he jumped out to show his credentials to the opposite party and inquire about the situation.

”We only found the car, no sign of anyone. The locals have been visited, but no one noticed this car,” a police officer reported to Leng Zirui simply.
