After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1985: Chapter 1989: Would He Help Her Put On Her Shoes?

”For safety’s sake, you’d better switch to another room.” Luo Ke raised his hand and smoothed out a strand of her messy hair, ”Don’t worry, everything will be resolved soon.”

”But it’s quite good here, I don’t want to switch...” Luo Xiaoqian frowned slightly.

She still had many questions she wanted to ask that man, if she changed rooms, could he still find her?

”Sissi, be good, don’t be stubborn, I’ll help you switch to a more comfortable room.” Luo Ke stood up, ”Take Madam to the master bedroom on the third floor.”

”Yes!” The butler answered immediately from outside the door.

”Alright, you go to the third floor to rest first, I’ll be back soon.” Luo Ke gently stroked her hair, turned, and was about to leave.

”Luo Ke...” Luo Xiaoqian anxiously spoke up, ”Could you... could you help me bring my slippers over?!”

Luo Ke lowered his face, only to see the half-high-heel slippers that Luo Xiaoqian had previously worn were not far from him, seemingly tossed aside when she took them off, thus not beside the bed.

He did not bend down to pick up the shoes but immediately ordered, ”Bring Madam her slippers.”

”Yes!” A subordinate immediately agreed, then walked over and took the half-high-heel slippers that Leng Zimo had casually placed aside, putting them beside Luo Xiaoqian’s feet.

”Don’t worry, I’ll be back soon.” Smiling at Luo Xiaoqian, Luo Ke turned to head outside, ”Take good care of Madam.”

”Yes!” Two subordinates answered simultaneously.

Luo Xiaoqian watched him walk out the door and then looked at the pair of slippers placed by her bedside, thinking of the way the man had half-kneeled in front of her to help her with her shoes. She was just slightly dazed.

A man who wouldn’t even pick up her shoes, would he really help her put them on?!

The answer was definitely no.

Unconsciously, the scale in Luo Xiaoqian’s heart had tilted once again toward Leng Zimo ever so slightly.

Luo Ke didn’t know, but due to such a small detail, he had once again lost to Leng Zimo.

”Madam, please follow me upstairs.” The butler came in, courteously inviting her.

”You all wait outside, I need to change clothes.” Luo Xiaoqian said.

”Yes!”

The butler and the two subordinates left the room together, and Luo Xiaoqian let out a sigh of relief, only then did she get out of bed, casually picking up the coat on the bed to drape over her, before stepping out the door again.

”Madam, please!” The butler politely bent forward to lead the way.

Following her upstairs, Luo Xiaoqian was still thinking about what had just happened.

”Does it... often happen that thieves appear here?”

”Certainly not, the security system on this island is very good, this time it’s... a special situation.” The butler carefully chose his words, ”Madam need not worry, once the power is restored, the thief will soon be caught.”

Upon hearing this, Luo Xiaoqian just frowned, that thief... will he be caught?!

Very soon the four of them arrived upstairs, and the butler opened a double European-style mahogany door, which slowly swung open, revealing a luxurious hall before Luo Xiaoqian.

The high dome was entirely made of stained glass mosaics, with tall columns on either wing, facing a whole wall of floor-to-ceiling windows, adorned with luxurious gold drapes, ornately carved gold candelabras placed on tables covered in handmade embroidery, European-style rugs... everything in sight exuded a sense of opulence.

”The room on the left is the gentleman’s bedroom, Madam will temporarily stay in the room on the right, alright?” The butler courteously led Luo Xiaoqian into the bedroom on the right.
