After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1968: Chapter 1972: Rushing Toward You

Within the reef cluster near the shore, Leng Zimo turned the jet ski back from the reefs, stopping on the ocean surface.

”There are too many reefs, we have to swim over. Ah Sang, you come with me. You two take the jet skis to the reef island over there and hide them, waiting for news from me and Ah Sang.”

Considering the situation Leng Zirui informed him of earlier, after observing from a distance, Leng Zimo circled to the back of the island for landing. Because there are many hidden reefs at the back of the island, even jet skis have a hard time entering. To be safe, Leng Zimo temporarily decided to use the second plan—swimming directly over.

Handing the two jet skis to subordinates to drive them to a nearby large reef, Leng Zimo and Ah Sang took the equipment and weapons packed in waterproof bags, jumped into the water, and swam into the reef cluster.

When the two climbed onto the beach, two of their subordinates had already driven the jet skis to the largest reef and hidden them.

Glancing around to ensure no one was nearby, Leng Zimo, carrying a waterproof bag, rushed into the dense jungle with Ah Sang. After hiding their forms, the two quickly took out clothes, shoes, and other weapon equipment from the waterproof bags and suited up.

Switching on the earpiece, Leng Zimo raised his hand to clip the earpiece to his collar and wore it on his ear.

”This is Leng Zimo, can you hear me?!”

”Sir, we can hear you.” A subordinate’s voice from the reef quickly came through, ”Should we come over too?!”

”No, stay there for now. If needed, then come over.”

The situation was unclear, and more people would only increase the target, especially on such a deserted island. For a successful escape, transportation is extremely important.

After simple instructions to the two subordinates, Leng Zimo looked questioningly at Ah Sang beside him. His companion returned an OK gesture, indicating his earpiece was functioning.

Stowing away the diving suits and other items, the two each carried their waterproof bags, gripping their guns as they swiftly dashed into the jungle, hurrying towards the direction of the front island.

The island was fairly large, with small mountains and forests at the back island. The front island had flat terrain where Luo Ke’s villa and other equipped buildings were constructed.

The dense jungle had lush vegetation, and the ground was covered with entangling vines, severely hindering their speed.

Ah Sang mounted the gun, then pulled a knife from the bag, slicing through the obstructive vines.

”Let me!”

After sprinting forward for a while, Leng Zimo noticed Ah Sang’s pace slowing down significantly and immediately rushed forward, snatching the machete from him to lead the way himself.

Pressing onward for about half an hour, Leng Zimo’s arms notably began to ache, and the back of his black work clothes were drenched with sweat.

”Sir, should we take a break?!” Ah Sang suggested softly.

”Alright!”

Leng Zimo halted his knife-wielding hand and casually sat on a tree root.

What lay ahead after crossing the jungle was the key moment. To successfully rescue Xiao Qian, he had to maintain adequate physical strength.

Ah Sang sat down next to him, retrieved a small bottle of water from the backpack, and handed it to him.

Leng Zimo took the water, drank a sip, and looked ahead at the path. They had just climbed a small hill, but the road ahead was still vast jungle. Judging by the surroundings, it would likely take another two to three hours to reach the front island.

Leng Zimo frowned, lifting his wrist to glance at his watch. The time showed it was nearing two o’clock. He flipped open the watch cover, looking at the locator underneath.
