After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1962: Chapter 1966: There’s a Little Xiao Bao

A sudden power outage; such an incident has never occurred on the island.

Mr. Luo Ke looked at the dimming lights, only slightly furrowing his brow.

”Immediately find out the cause, there’s no need to activate the backup power for now.”

”Yes!”

The butler responded and quickly went out the door, instructing the specialized staff to investigate.

Because it’s a small island, the electricity is self-sufficient. Although there are backup power sources, considering the time needed for circuit repair and inspection, Mr. Luo Ke didn’t immediately order the activation of the backup power. After all, if the backup power is used up during the day and the normal circuit hasn’t been repaired, the whole island will experience a power outage at night.

The small interruption didn’t affect Mr. Luo Ke’s dining mood. He smiled while picking up his glass, ”Sissi, for your new life, shall we toast?!”

”Ah...” Luo Xiaoqian, who was lost in thought, came back to her senses and raised her hand to pick up the glass.

”Sissi, you mustn’t!” Seeing her bring the glass to her lips, Leng Zirui quickly spoke up.

Luo Xiaoqian’s lips had already touched the glass, and hearing his voice, she paused in surprise, ”Why?”

Leng Zirui glanced at Mr. Luo Ke’s face, ”Did Mr. Luo Ke not tell you, there’s a baby in your belly?”

A baby?!

Luo Xiaoqian put down the glass, raised her hand gently to touch her abdomen, her eyes landing on Mr. Luo Ke.

”Luo Ke, is it true?”

”Yes, that’s our child.” Mr. Luo Ke replied with a smile, ”Apologies, Sissi, I was so overjoyed that I forgot pregnant women shouldn’t drink alcohol. Let’s get the lady a glass of juice right away.”

Of course, he hadn’t forgotten, but in his heart, he hadn’t really considered this child, and naturally wouldn’t keep it in mind.

The servant promptly stepped forward, took away Luo Xiaoqian’s wine glass, and replaced it with a glass of juice.

Looking at the juice glass in front of her, Luo Xiaoqian’s eyes flashed with a hint of color.

Would a man who deeply loves his woman forget such an important thing?!

It seems Mr. Luo Ke doesn’t care much about me either!

”Sissi?” Mr. Luo Ke watched her stare dazedly at the fruit cup and once again lifted his glass, ”This time, can we toast?”

Luo Xiaoqian raised her glass and lightly clinked it with his, taking a small sip.

Beside them, Roselia also extended her glass to clink with Leng Zirui. Leng Zirui took a shallow sip of wine, his gaze once again sweeping over the watch on his wrist.

Five minutes have already passed, can Leng Zimo and the others land smoothly?!

At the table, Luo Xiaoqian took a sip of juice, then picked up her cutlery to start eating.

Still using delicate Italian utensils, on the plate was an exquisite foie gras dish. The plating was beautiful, but when she brought the foie gras to her lips, even before taking a bite, the aroma hit her and triggered a wave of nausea.

”You don’t like it?”

Mr. Luo Ke looked at her slightly knitted brow and asked with concern.

”No.”

Luo Xiaoqian hurriedly shook her head, putting the foie gras into her mouth and slowly chewing.

The taste of foie gras and sauce dissolved in her mouth, its rich texture tinged with the faint gaminess typical of liver. After only a couple of chews, she couldn’t control herself and stood up from the chair, hurriedly rushing out of the dining room.

”Sissi!” Mr. Luo Ke hurriedly got up to chase after her.

”Res...uh...restroom...” Luo Xiaoqian muttered, covering her mouth with her hand.

Mr. Luo Ke quickly guided her to the restroom. Upon entering, Luo Xiaoqian went straight to the trash can and vomited.
