After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1981: Chapter 1985: Leng Zirui Is Here

Luo Xiaoqian still hadn’t figured out what he was trying to do when Leng Zimo had already lifted one of her feet into his hands and slipped off her high heel.

”You... what are you doing?”

Luo Xiaoqian was startled and instinctively tried to pull back the foot Leng Zimo was holding.

”Shh!” Leng Zimo raised a finger to his lips, signaling her to keep quiet. His eyes, laced with a smile, lifted to her. ”Don’t be scared, I just want to help you change into a more comfortable pair of shoes.”

”I...” Luo Xiaoqian’s pretty little face flushed red as she whispered, ”I can do it myself.”

”It’s fine.” Leng Zimo said with a smile, cupping her small foot. ”I’ve done this for you more times than I can count.”

His palm held her delicate foot with just the right amount of pressure. Luo Xiaoqian’s face grew even redder, and her heart started pounding faster and faster.

A man was actually half-kneeling on the ground to put her shoes on?!

To the current her, this kind of thing was practically unimaginable.

Lowering his face, Leng Zimo expertly pulled the cotton sock onto her small foot, then took the shoe and put it on for her. As he tied the laces, he didn’t forget to explain, ”I need to tie them a bit tighter so they’ll stay on better when you walk.”

She was used to leaving her laces a little loose because it felt more comfortable when walking. But they were about to escape from here; he had to make sure her shoes fit perfectly.

”Like this, is it uncomfortable?” Adjusting the tightness of the laces, Leng Zimo looked up at her, asking with concern.

Luo Xiaoqian shook her head lightly, so he lowered his face again and helped her change into the other shoe.

Watching him carefully tuck in the extra length of the shoelaces, looking as if he were afraid she might step on them while walking, Luo Xiaoqian’s confusion only grew stronger.

Who on earth was this man, and why was he so good to her?!

”Who exactly are you?!”

When Leng Zimo finished putting on her shoes and lifted his face, Luo Xiaoqian asked again.

Leng Zimo didn’t answer. He simply straightened his back and slowly leaned his face toward hers, his dark eyes gazing deeply at her.

”You really don’t remember?”

Their eyes met, so close they were almost touching.

Luo Xiaoqian’s breath hitched, and her heart skipped a beat.

Downstairs.

Leng Zirui strode in from outside the door, the shirt on his body already soaked through with sweat, with obvious bloodstains on it as well.

In the living room, Luo Ke was giving instructions to the Butler. Hearing his footsteps, Luo Ke turned in surprise, frowned when he saw how disheveled he looked.

”What happened?”

”The people who came ashore escaped. Roselia is chasing them. I came back to get weapons.” Leng Zirui panted heavily. ”The... the other side is really tough, seems like they’re very good at field... combat!”

Luo Ke frowned at that. ”Could it be... Leng Zirui came?”

Luo Ke was very familiar with the Leng Family brothers. It was because of Leng Zirui that he’d suffered huge losses before, one after another losing two capable subordinates, Tang Ming and Allen. The moment he thought the intruder might be Leng Zirui, hatred already had him grinding his teeth.

Seeing Luo Ke misunderstanding that he himself had come, Leng Zirui immediately chimed in, ”I didn’t see too clearly, but judging from his moves, he should have received very professional training.”

”Notify everyone. Aside from those staying behind at the villa to protect Madam, everyone else bring weapons and come with me to the back mountain.” Luo Ke narrowed his pair of dark green eyes, the ice in them unmistakable. ”This time, I’m going to kill him with my own hands.”
