After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 1963: Chapter 1967: The Taste of Alcohol

Luo Ke looked at her pale face, busy helping her pat her back, wipe her face, and hold the water, his eyebrows tightly knitted.

After a while, Luo Xiaoqian finally stopped vomiting, walked to the washroom and washed her face before straightening up.

Raising her face, she looked at Luo Ke who stood beside her, frowning with concern as he looked at her. Suddenly, she had a fleeting illusion that this scene seemed familiar.

Luo Ke handed over a tissue, ”Are you okay?”

Seeing him take the tissue, she cooperatively lifted her face, the action entirely out of habit.

In the past, whenever she was with Leng Zimo, he would always help her wipe her face.

Seeing her like this, Luo Ke was slightly taken aback, then realized, lifting his left hand to gently hold her chin, he tenderly used his right hand to wipe the water from her face.

This was the most intimate thing he had done with her since knowing her.

Luo Ke had never taken care of anyone, let alone wiped a woman’s face. In his world, he only knew the word ’be cared for,’ but now, while holding the chin of the girl in front of him and wiping her face, he felt no aversion, instead, there was an indescribable sense of joy in his heart.

The joy came not only from her willingness to be close, but also from some other emotions he hadn’t noticed.

Noticing his gaze full of indulgence, Luo Xiaoqian spoke softly, ”Luo Ke, did you once love someone very deeply?”

”Of course.” Luo Ke lowered the tissue, cupping her face with his hand, ”Sissi, no one loves you more than I do!”

Saying this, he lowered his face, slowly leaning in towards her lips.

Seeing his approaching face and those green eyes full of desire, Luo Xiaoqian hesitated in her heart. Instinct told her to evade, but reason told her she shouldn’t avoid it. Since he was the one she loved, and she was carrying his child, this intimacy should be natural.

His breath drew closer, mixed with a faint scent of alcohol. Feeling the alcohol, Luo Xiaoqian suddenly turned away, running to the trash bin and dry heaving again.

Originally believing he could share a tender moment, Luo Ke straightened up, displeased.

”Sorry...” Luo Xiaoqian held back her dry heaving as she looked at him, ”Luo Ke, I...I didn’t do it on purpose, it’s just the smell of alcohol, I...I...” she continued to retch.

Seeing her pale little face, with her weary appearance and apologetic expression, along with the obvious concern in her eyes, any trace of anger in Luo Ke’s heart instantly turned into heartache.

”No, Sissi, it’s okay.” Luo Ke came over again, gently patting her back.

After a while, Luo Xiaoqian’s stomach finally calmed, and Luo Ke, fearing he might cause her discomfort again, dared not approach her.

The two walked out of the washroom, and Leng Zirui and Roselia were already standing outside the door.

”I’m sorry,” Luo Xiaoqian spoke apologetically, ”I...I want to go upstairs to rest for a while.”

”I’ll take you upstairs,” Luo Ke said tenderly.

”Let Roselia do it,” Leng Zirui promptly said, ”I have something to talk to you about, Luo Ke.”

”I can go up by myself.” Luo Xiaoqian smiled at them, ”You guys talk.”

She turned around and went upstairs, with a servant immediately following her.

Watching her figure disappear at the end of the stairs, Leng Zirui finally breathed a sigh of relief.

The door hadn’t been closed just now, and he had seen their situation clearly.

Fortunately, Luo Xiaoqian had an aversion to the smell of alcohol; otherwise, his sister-in-law would have been kissed by that guy.
