After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 145: Chapter 145: Sorry

I’m sorry.

Her right hand was wrapped in thick gauze.

The image of the bloodstained blade flashed in front of his eyes, and Leng Zimo’s anger slowly subsided.

He let go of the steering wheel and turned to help her unbuckle her seat belt.

”Don’t touch me!” Luo Xiaoqian yelled, noticing his blood-covered left hand, she froze in place, ”Your hand...”

Leng Zimo turned his palm over, glanced at it, and saw a blurry smear of blood. He did not even realize when he had injured his hand. He just looked at it briefly, then reached over again to unbuckle her seat belt.

He drew his hand back, letting the seat belt retract back into its slot, then returned to his own seat.

”I’m sorry!”

Luo Xiaoqian had already grabbed the door handle, ready to open the car door. Hearing these three words, she suddenly stiffened.

He said, ”I’m sorry”?

Had she heard incorrectly? Could someone like him actually apologize?!

Turning her face, she looked at him with confusion.

He was compromising with her. For years, he had been the one in control of everything, but this time, he was respecting her wishes, even though he believed participating in the competition was the best choice for her.

But if she wanted to quit, then let it be her decision!

Leng Zimo was staring ahead, ”If you don’t like to continue with the contest, I can transfer you to Emperor View and start as a contracted singer. My promise still stands!”

Years of dominance had become instinct and habit, imprinted in his bones; he had never said ’sorry’ to anyone before.

Luo Xiaoqian didn’t understand—just how difficult it was for him to utter those three words!

To her, his compromise was just another means of imprisonment.

A single apology and she’s expected to forgive him?

What difference would it make to move to Emperor View? She would still be under his control.

To think she believed he was genuinely apologizing. As if someone like him would ever say sorry to her.

But it was just like taming a pet—punish it, then toss it a sweet date to console it afterward.

Turning around, Luo Xiaoqian reached for the car door again, trying to open it, but no matter how hard she tried, the door wouldn’t budge.

He had locked it!

He had apologized to her, and she still wanted to leave?!

Leng Zimo watched her actions and raised an eyebrow again, ”Don’t forget our agreement. Until you’ve won, you must fulfill the duty of a lover!”

Gripping the steering wheel, he started the car once more.

The black Hummer roared onto the fast lane, speeding back to World City without a word spoken between them, the car’s atmosphere stiff as if about to freeze.

Getting out of the car, entering the elevator, exiting the elevator.

Luo Xiaoqian lifted her left hand, typed the passcode, opened the door, and then, like a servant, picked up his slippers.

”Please change your shoes, then wait for me on the bed. I’ll go clean myself up now!”

Her face was devoid of anger, her voice so calm it lacked any trace of emotion, as if he was a complete stranger.

What did she take him for?

A john?!

And what did she consider herself?!

The anger Leng Zimo had been suppressing finally reached its breaking point. He grabbed her and lifted her up against the wall.

”Luo Xiaoqian, what exactly do you want?”

Indeed, he was wrong; he knew he had misunderstood her and knew she had been greatly wronged tonight.

He had been trying to make amends, even apologized to her. What more did she want from him?
