After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 135: Chapter 135: The Ultimate Showdown

”Nothing can stop your yearning for freedom, the unfettered life you aspire to lead, with a heart free from worries.

Through the dark times, you may have felt lost, only realizing when you bow your head the road that lies at your feet,

The free world within your heart, so clear and distant, blooms with the everlasting Blue Lotus...”

Indeed, she had said it: she wanted to be famous, she wanted to make money, so what? When it came to music, she truly cared and was dedicated.

Luo Xiaoqian stood under the lights, staring bravely in the direction of the audience below the stage, even though she couldn’t see anything, she knew they could see her, they could hear her.

With this song, she wanted to tell them that Luo Xiaoqian aimed to win by her own strength, and she wouldn’t resort to any kind of boring tricks.

Her emotions fully infused into her singing.

Her voice was like a lament, not angry or roaring, but rather, she sang with a calm and strong voice.

Her left hand on the strings, her right hand holding a pick, the pinky finger still in pain, blood seeped through the bandage, turning the white bandage a bright red, like a small red lotus blooming on her fingers.

Despite the audience’s skepticism caused by Leng Zimo’s earlier questioning, when she stood there and sang in that way, the audience naturally understood her emotions.

Strumming the last few notes, she stepped back and bowed in thanks.

”Thank you!”

No matter if your response to me is doubt or mockery, support or encouragement, I thank you all for letting me understand the world’s warmth and cold.

Without explanation or tears, she simply sang her song; everything she wanted to say was all there in her singing.

Below the stage, amidst the audience, a sudden round of applause resounded; upon hearing the clapping, people snapped back to reality, and a wave of applause followed.

Han Jun walked onto the stage, and Ouyang Qing also led Shen Xinyi to the center of the stage.

”Excellent!” Han Jun surveyed the crowd, ”Now, we enter the most thrilling part of this competition, who will become the champion of the Beijing Competition Area of ’Huaxia Idol’ and advance directly to the national finals, will be decided by you. Now, all the audience members present, please take up the keypad in front of you and select the one you most support—if you support the clear and graceful Luo Xiaoqian of Blue Lotus, press the number 1; if you prefer the deeply affectionate Shen Xinyi, press the number 2, voting starts now!”

The big screen split in two, showing images of Luo Xiaoqian and Shen Xinyi, with large red numbers scrolling rapidly beneath them.

Leng Zimo’s brow furrowed tightly as he watched the numbers scroll across the screen, his heart inexplicably tensing up.

Under the photos of both, numbers rose rapidly.

Both possessing incredible strength, the amount of support they received was equally considerable, and despite the small incident just before, many still supported Luo Xiaoqian.

”The scores are very close, now Xiao Qian has 708, no, 712, and Xinyi has 723, not too different, and the numbers keep changing!”

”Yes, I find myself getting nervous too, let’s see who will be today’s champion!”

”Luo Xiaoqian, 872 votes!”

”Shen Xinyi, 884 votes!”

...

The numbers on the screen were still changing. The hosts’ commentary intensified the atmosphere in the broadcast studio, and Shen Xinyi’s hands instinctively clenched.

Shen Xinyi had thought that Luo Xiaoqian would lose her fans’ support because of this incident, but the result was quite beyond her expectations.
