After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 142: Chapter 142: Are you asking me out?

The sharp chin, exquisite features, the man before her seemed like a character straight out of a comic book, brought to life. He wore a simple T-shirt and jeans, yet somehow pulled off the effect of high-fashion brand clothing—a complete enchantress. Underneath the slightly disheveled hair, the man’s captivating peach blossom eyes were smiling mischievously at her.

”Luo Xiaoqian, I want to talk to you,” he said.

Luo Xiaoqian felt that the man in front of her looked somewhat familiar, but for the moment, she couldn’t remember where she had seen him before.

As if seeing the confusion in her eyes, Jiao Yang smiled, then casually took out a pair of sunglasses from his pocket, and lazily put them on his nose. He extended a finger to gently hook down the glasses, his charming peach blossom eyes looking at her from behind the lenses with a suggestive smile.

”Need help?” he asked.

That tone, that posture...

Luo Xiaoqian suddenly remembered—this was the ”hoodlum” she had met in the stairwell before.

Her face immediately turned cold. ”Stay away from me!” she snapped.

Turning around, she strode away.

Jiao Yang didn’t chase after her. He simply took two steps back, leaned against the car, and asked casually as he watched her retreating figure, ”Don’t you want your photograph back?”

Photograph?

Luo Xiaoqian felt as if she had been frozen in place and stopped.

After getting the photo from Leng Zimo that day, she somehow lost track of it. She had searched the subway and the streets later but hadn’t found it. Could it have been dropped in the stairwell and picked up by him?

”My photo is with you?”

Turning back, she looked at him from a distance and asked.

Considering their first encounter, Luo Xiaoqian’s impression of Jiao Yang wasn’t good, and she remained very wary of him. Naturally, she wouldn’t just believe him because of a sentence.

”Your father is Military, how old were you at that time, eight, ten years old?” Jiao Yang asked with a smile.

Luo Xiaoqian marched over to him and reached out her hand. ”Give it back!”

He knew the contents of the photo, which meant the photo indeed was with him.

Jiao Yang patted the bright yellow Maybach beneath him. ”You should remember the car I was driving that day. It wasn’t this one. Moreover, I don’t have the habit of carrying other people’s photos around.”

”Business card!” Luo Xiaoqian still stretched her hand out.

Jiao Yang shook his head with a smile. ”Don’t have one!”

”Phone number!”

”My phone number isn’t something I just give out to anyone!”

Luo Xiaoqian pouted, ”158XXXXXXX, call me!”

”Are you asking me out?” he teased with a playful smile.

”What do you want, exactly?” Luo Xiaoqian finally lost her patience.

Her mood had been terrible that day, and if it weren’t for the photo, did he really think she was in the mood to deal with him?

Jiao Yang was still smiling. ”Like I said before, I want to talk to you!”

”Apart from the photo, there’s nothing to talk about!” Luo Xiaoqian said irritably.

”You think I’m flirting with you?” Jiao Yang asked, still smiling.

Luo Xiaoqian snorted coldly through her nose. ”Aren’t you?”

Watching her contempt-filled little face, Jiao Yang chuckled softly, ”I wasn’t before, but now, well, I could be!”

Was he finally showing his true colors?

Luo Xiaoqian made a face. ”Then I can tell you straight up, don’t waste your time!”

The growling of an engine drowned out her voice as a black Hummer charged forward like a wild beast and screeched to a stop not far away. The car had barely stopped when Leng Zimo rushed out from the driver’s seat, grabbed her arm, and pulled her behind him to shield her. His gaze towards Jiao Yang, who leaned on his car, was colder than ice.

”I’m warning you, stay away from her!” he said with an icy tone.

Jiao Yang didn’t seem the least bit intimidated by his demeanor, merely smiling as he looked at Luo Xiaoqian.

”Is he your boyfriend?” he asked.
