After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 125: Chapter 125: If You Dare, Stand Out for Me

The two of them took their boxed lunches to the dressing room to eat, and Xu Xia noticed the box on her table, looking puzzled as she leaned in, ”Hey, what’s this?”

”Looks like someone’s express delivery,” Luo Xiaoqian glanced at the express slip on the box and, seeing her own name, also showed a surprised and suspicious expression, ”Luo Xiaoqian, it’s for me, but I don’t know who sent it!”

”Oh?” Xu Xia immediately set down her boxed lunch, curiously leaning in, ”I bet it’s from one of your admirers. Come on, let me help you see what kind of nice thing it is!”

She laughed as she opened the box lid and saw the dress inside; she was shocked at first, but then noticed the not-yet-dry juice on it. The joy on her face instantly turned to anger, and she yanked the dress out of the box, yelling loudly.

”Who did this? Come out and admit it, if you dare!”

The noise startled everyone in the room.

All eyes simultaneously shifted to the dress stained with juice, lacking in any aesthetic appeal, and they all looked back blankly.

Xu Xia surveyed everyone and her gaze stopped on Shen Xinyi, who was eating, ”Shen Xinyi, it was you, wasn’t it?”

Shen Xinyi stood up abruptly, ”Xu Xia, let me tell you, you can’t just throw around accusations. Which eye of yours saw me do it?”

”If not you, then who? Only you would do something so despicable!” Xu Xia threw the gift box down and rushed toward Shen Xinyi.

”Xiao Xia, calm down a bit!”

Luo Xiaoqian quickly got to her feet and hurried over to stop her. The competition was about to start, and there was no way she could let Xu Xia cause trouble at this time.

After all, no one saw what happened, and Shen Xinyi would definitely not admit to it based on mere conjecture.

Dragging Xu Xia back to her chair, Luo Xiaoqian glanced at the dress in the box and then handed the boxed lunch to Xu Xia, ”Eat, it’s almost as if I’m begging you. After the competition is over, can we talk about this, okay?”

Xu Xia glared resentfully at Shen Xinyi and took the lunch box, ”Karma will get the guilty, some people better beware, they might get knocks on their door in the night!”

”Crazy!” Shen Xinyi slammed her chopsticks down and walked out with her half-finished boxed lunch.

The others continued their meals, and Luo Xiaoqian’s gaze fell on the stained dress while picking up food with her chopsticks.

She had already looked at the delivery slip; it had no information about the sender.

The dress looked exquisitely made, but who could have sent it?!

A small incident did not affect the progress of the competition; time slowly ticked away as staff ran back and forth, bustling about... and every contestant, including Xu Xia and Luo Xiaoqian, couldn’t help but feel increasingly nervous.

”Xiao Qian, I’m so nervous, my hands are sweating!” Xu Xia said to Luo Xiaoqian, ”Are you nervous?”

”What do you think!” Luo Xiaoqian pursed her lips. Although it wasn’t her first time on stage, a stage like this was a first for her, and a competition at that—who wouldn’t be nervous?

”First group, get ready to go on stage!”

Ailin’s voice already carried over from not far away.

”I’m off!” Xu Xia hurried over.

”Good luck!” Luo Xiaoqian called after her.

Turning her head, Xu Xia threw her a V-sign and quickly made her way onto the stage.

The early performances ended swiftly, followed by a short warm-up track, after which the two presenters also climbed onto the stage.

”Next, we’ll move on to the official competition segment, but before that, I’m sure everyone wants to know who tonight’s judges are, right?!” the presenter Ouyang Qing asked with a smile.

”Yes!”
