Chapter 123: Chapter 123 Performance Costume

After changing into her dance outfit, Luo Xiaoqian returned to the mirror to wait for makeup when Xu Xia came over, ”Xiao Qian, what are you going to wear when you sing?”

Luo Xiaoqian turned, a look of complete confusion in her eyes, ”Don’t we have performance costumes?”

”But you have to prepare your own outfit for singing, right?” Xu Xia rolled her eyes, ”Don’t tell me you didn’t prepare at all!”

Luo Xiaoqian’s face filled with helplessness; she really had forgotten about it.

”You, I don’t even know what to say to you!” Xu Xia was even more helpless, ”Never mind, after the rehearsal ends, we’ll rush out and buy a set!”

With the situation as it was, there were no other options, Luo Xiaoqian nodded her head, ”Alright then!”

Half an hour passed quickly, and everyone’s preparations were also complete.

”Wow, it’s Han Jun and Ouyang Qing!”

Not far away, someone exclaimed in surprise.

Xu Xia and Luo Xiaoqian turned their heads and sure enough, they saw a man and a woman passing by the entrance, the well-known entertainment hosts, Han Jun and Ouyang Qing. These two were top-tier hosts with sky-high appearance fees—ordinary people couldn’t afford them even at exorbitant prices.

”Leng Zimo really is something, even getting those two over here!” Xu Xia exclaimed with awe.

The music started, and the two hosts walked onto the stage together.

The dress rehearsal officially began.

Xu Xia’s dance was scheduled for the opening, and she immediately dashed onto the stage with several partners to perform.

After so many days of rehearsals, the entire rehearsal went very smoothly. After Shen Xinyi came off the stage, Luo Xiaoqian followed her right up.

In the stands, Leng Zimo, who had come specially to watch the rehearsal, frowned deeply at the sight of her casual outfit.

”What’s going on?”

Sitting beside him, Ailin was also surprised. This time, it was only the semi-finals, and the company wouldn’t provide them with costumes for singing; they had to prepare those themselves. Luo Xiaoqian’s outfit was clearly not a performance costume.

”This girl, she couldn’t have forgotten to prepare a performance costume, could she?”

”Idiot!” Leng Zimo muttered under his breath, annoyed.

Underneath the lights, Luo Xiaoqian had no idea what was happening in the audience; she just sat down on the chair and began to perform with single-minded focus.

At the backstage entrance, Shen Xinyi, who had just come off the stage, watched her fingers leap and move across the piano keys, her gaze locked onto one particular key, a cold gleam flashing in her eyes.

”Luo Xiaoqian, you won’t win!”

As Luo Xiaoqian played the last note, Leng Zimo stood up and strode out of the venue.

On stage, Luo Xiaoqian bowed deeply.

The spotlight dimmed, and the house lights came on.

”Very good!” Ailin stood up and clapped from beneath the stage, ”Great job everyone, the staff can take an hour’s break now to get ready for tonight’s performance. The contestants can rest!”

”Miss Ailin!” Luo Xiaoqian hurried down the stage, ”Can I go out with Xu Xia to buy a dress...” she said, embarrassedly lowering her face, ”I was so focused on preparing for the performance, I forgot to prepare a performance outfit!”

”You!” Ailin laughed and then handed her the car keys, ”Well, take my car then. Remember to come back early to get ready!”

”No need, no need, we’ll just take a taxi, thank you!” Luo Xiaoqian was busy declining and after saying thanks, she ran backstage to find Xu Xia.

The two girls grabbed their bags and hurried out of the studio toward the nearest mall, while the other students continued practicing their singing or chatted and rested in small groups.
