After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 107: Chapter 107 The Whole City is Lonely

Luo Xiaoqian slid out of bed from under the covers, aware that Leng Zimo wouldn’t avert his gaze. She bent to pick up the paper bag by the bed and walked into the restroom. Everything was brand new from the inside out, and the size was still a perfect fit. This man seemed to know her body even better than she did.

After changing her clothes, she came out and carefully placed her old clothes from beside her pillow into the paper bag.

The torn T-shirt, the bloodstained jeans... all were beside the pillow, but her undergarment was nowhere to be found.

”Under the pillow!”

Leng Zimo spoke up just in time.

She flipped over the pillow and, sure enough, saw some blood stains on her white bra.

Casually tossing it into the bag, she suddenly realized something and her face flushed with heat once more.

She had initially thought it was the nurse who had helped her change clothes, but now it was clear that it must have been him. Otherwise, how would he know where her undergarment was?!

At that moment, Leng Zimo’s hand was already reaching out for the clothes bag in her hand.

”I can handle it myse...”

Before she could finish the word ”self,” his fingers had already grasped the handle of the bag.

With one hand scraped, and the other still aching from being pressed by the nurse as a prop for several minutes, Luo Xiaoqian released her fingers, allowing him to take the bag away.

Leng Zimo turned and walked out of the ward. She dared not lag behind and hurried after him, following closely.

In the corridor, it was ominously silent, with only a buzzing sound from the lights overhead.

As they passed the nurse’s station, Luo Xiaoqian glanced sideways at the clock on the wall, which read 3:09.

A shock went through Luo Xiaoqian.

She had thought she had only been unconscious for a while, not realizing it had been so long.

It was already dark outside, certainly not the afternoon, which meant it was the early morning. She remembered it was only about eight or nine when she had gone home. In those hours, he... had he been watching over her till now?!

A wave of emotion naturally rose in her heart.

Entering the elevator, she hesitated several times, about to thank him, but Leng Zimo, noticing the abrasion on her forehead, raised his eyebrows and spoke before she could.

”Do I need to remind you once again not to keep testing my limits?”

The touch of emotion in her heart shattered instantly at his words. Luo Xiaoqian pursed her lips, ”Even if I’ve sold myself to you, I’m still a person. You can’t restrict my personal freedom!”

”Once you’ve beaten me, then we can talk about freedom,” Leng Zimo responded in a deep voice as he strode out of the opening elevator doors.

She followed him out of the elevator, and the night breeze struck her face. Having been cocooned in warm blankets for a while, she involuntarily shivered.

Leng Zimo, busy placing things into the trunk of the car, glanced at her thinly-clad figure.

This Ailin was becoming less and less competent!

He tossed his suit jacket onto her, issuing a cold command.

”Put it on!”

Luo Xiaoqian wasn’t in the mood to argue and immediately draped the jacket over herself, taking a seat in the passenger’s side.

The clothing carried a faint scent of chocolate along with his warmth.

Leng Zimo started the car, his gaze naturally sweeping over her as he spoke again with displeasure.

”Buckle up!”

What was going on with her, having to be told the same thing over and over again!

Luo Xiaoqian fastened her seatbelt, and he immediately pressed the accelerator, the car roaring as it shot out of the parking lot.

It was late into the night, and the roads were nearly empty. Luo Xiaoqian was seeing the nighttime scenery of Beijing for the first time like this.

In her memory, Beijing was always crowded and chaotic, bustling with people. But now it was entirely different.

The deep night of the city was just as lonely!
