After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 138: Chapter 138 He is Him, I am Me

”She’s lucky today is my shift, otherwise, that finger might truly have never played the piano again!” Opening the nearby medical kit, Shen Yizhou reached in for a syringe, inserted it into Luo Xiaoqian’s palm, and pushed the medicine into her skin. He set down the syringe and then brought a roll of gauze to her mouth, ”The anesthetic will take a bit of time to work. For your future piano playing, we need to move quickly; I’m going to clean your wound now. Endure the pain a bit, Tong Ya, support her!”

Tong Ya did as told, steadying Luo Xiaoqian’s arm. Luo Xiaoqian bit down on the gauze as Shen Yizhou poured disinfectant onto her finger.

The injury on the finger was deep, close to the bone and tendons, and the disinfectant burned intensely, naturally causing excruciating pain. Luo Xiaoqian bit hard on the gauze in her mouth and instantly broke out in a cold sweat.

After carefully cleaning the wound, Shen Yizhou began to stitch it up. Fortunately, the anesthetic was gradually taking effect, her whole hand felt swollen and numb, and the pain was no longer perceivable.

Having finished the stitches and deftly bandaged the wound, Shen Yizhou sat down on a chair opposite her, swiftly wrote a prescription, and handed it to Tong Ya, ”Go get a bottle of anti-inflammatory medication from the pharmacy!”

Tong Ya took the note and walked out. Shen Yizhou then looked back at Luo Xiaoqian and let out a light laugh.

”Ha, I can imagine that guy Leng Zimo must be nearly going mad with rage right now. Shall we call him and check?”

Luo Xiaoqian hung her head and remained silent.

Seeing the expression on her face, Shen Yizhou put away his smile and spoke seriously, ”Actually, you shouldn’t feel bad. You don’t understand him; that’s just his lousy temper. You’ll get to know it over time. Don’t think he’s cold as an icy rock, actually, he is typically a mix of half sea, half flame!”

Luo Xiaoqian stood up, ”Doctor Shen, may I leave now?”

Everyone seems to speak for him, Leng Zimo this, Leng Zimo that, now she didn’t want to hear that name at all.

He had a temper, didn’t she have one, too?

Without evidence, how dare he falsely accuse her!

”Of course, you may!” Shen Yizhou shrugged, his usual smile returning as he opened a drawer and handed her a bottle of anti-inflammatory medication, ”Take the medication for at least a week, come back in three days for a dressing change, and remember, your finger must not touch water if you want to play the piano in the future!”

”Thank you!” Luo Xiaoqian took the medication, ”I’ll pay you for the medical fees when I come to change the dressing!”

Shen Yizhou waved it off, smiling, ”No need, Zimo and I...”

”He is him, I am me!” Luo Xiaoqian interrupted him.

Shen Yizhou laughed, ”Alright, alright, he is him, you are you, then consider it as me, your fan, covering the medical expenses for you, okay?”

”I will pay you back!” Turning around, Luo Xiaoqian pulled open the door and walked out.

Not wanting to encounter Tong Ya, she didn’t take the elevator.

Standing at the door, watching her disappear into the stairwell, Shen Yizhou just shook his head, ”Birds of a feather flock together, she’s got the same lousy temper as him!”

”Where is she?” Tong Ya returned with the medication to find Luo Xiaoqian gone, looking around in confusion.

”She’s gone!” said Shen Yizhou.

”How could you let her go?” Tong Ya roared.

”Hey, hey, hey, be reasonable, will you? She left on her own accord, it wasn’t me who let her go!” Shen Yizhou rolled her eyes at her, ”She’s in a bad mood right now and needs some quiet time alone, don’t go adding to the chaos. And to think you’re a woman, not understanding this little bit?”
