After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 42: Chapter 42: Branded T-shirt

”You want compensation, really?” Shen Xinyi scoffed coldly. ”This CHANEL T-shirt was brought back from France by my father, just released. Today is the first time I’m wearing it, over a thousand Euros, which is more than ten thousand yuan when converted. I’ll give you a depreciated price, ten thousand yuan!”

”A lousy T-shirt for ten thousand yuan, are you robbing me!” Xu Xia cursed as she prepared to charge forward again.

”How could you people wearing street stall clothes understand what fashion means?” Shen Xinyi said contemptuously, glancing sideways at the two of them. ”So, Luo Xiaoqian, you said you’d pay, didn’t you? Can’t afford it, no problem, it’s just a lack of money, right? I don’t need the money. Just apologize to me in front of everyone, and we’ll call it even!”

She lifted her chin, like a proud peacock.

That attitude deeply wounded Luo Xiaoqian.

Money, it’s always about money!

”Who says I don’t have money!” Xu Xia grabbed her bag from the table in one swift motion. ”Ten thousand yuan, is it? Fine, you just wait, I’ll withdraw the money for you right now!”

”If you don’t have money, just say so, why the pretense!”

”Exactly, what’s so hard about making an apology? One simple ’I’m sorry’ for ten thousand yuan, that’s a bargain for you guys!”

On the side, the two flunkies of Shen Xinyi were adding fuel to the fire.

”Xiao Xia!” Luo Xiaoqian stopped her again and stepped in front of Shen Xinyi, ”Ten thousand yuan, right? I can pay, but on one condition, you take off that T-shirt right now!”

Pulling open her backpack, she reached in and pulled out a stack of banknotes still sealed in paper wrappers.

A thick stack of red banknotes, evidently just withdrawn from the bank.

”If that’s not enough, I have this too!” Luo Xiaoqian drew a glimmering gold card from her purse. ”A credit card with a limit of one million, I think you ladies should recognize it!”

The glistening card sparkled under the light, radiating dazzling brilliance.

It was a super VIP gold card credit card from a renowned bank, undoubtedly real.

Yesterday, when Leng Zimo gave her the medicine, he also returned her wallet and this credit card. This was all the money she had left in her card, meant to repay a debtor back home.

The debt from her mother’s medical bills wasn’t yet settled.

The ten thousand yuan was set aside for unexpected needs, but now that she had found a job, she just wanted to repay the money as soon as possible, so she had withdrawn it early that day.

The atmosphere at the scene suddenly shifted.

Shen Xinyi had no idea that Luo Xiaoqian actually had that much money and was momentarily stunned.

Xu Xia, looking at the money Luo Xiaoqian took out, was also surprised, her eyes wide open; after a moment, she smiled mischievously and evilly eyed Shen Xinyi, ”Go ahead, Miss Shen, strip!”

”I, Shen Xinyi, am not so poor as to need someone else to compensate for my clothes!” Shen Xinyi huffed indignantly and, with her two lackeys, strode away.

”What are you looking at, disperse!” Xu Xia chased away the onlookers and quickly cleared the table, then pulled Luo Xiaoqian out of the restaurant to a secluded corridor. She immediately cornered her against the wall. ”Luo Xiaoqian, you better come clean to me, who is it? A credit card with a limit of a million, you must have found yourself a tycoon, out with it!”

Luo Xiaoqian looked at the gold card in her hands, her expression turned somber, ”Xiao Xia, you’re right, these days, dreams, pride, none of it’s as good as having money!”

”I was joking with you!” Seeing the expression on her face, Xu Xia quickly let her go, ”That’s not what I meant, Xiao Qian...”
