After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 40: Chapter 40: If You Don’t Become Famous, It Would Be Against All Reason

”Yesterday afternoon, ’Huaxia Idol’ released its final promotional material. Out of fifty people, you took up a whole minute by yourself!” Xu Xia looked at her as if she were an alien visitor, ”Little Ancestor, don’t tell me you haven’t seen it?”

Yesterday afternoon?!

She had been so exhausted by someone’s torment that she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow, with no time to watch any promotional clips.

”Hold on!” Xu Xia fished out an iPad from her bag, pulled up the video, and handed it to her.

The promo immediately started playing, and after numerous scene changes, Luo Xiaoqian’s figure appeared on screen.

”Because I want to make money, I want to be famous, I need an opportunity!...”

Then, it showed her singing. Just as Xu Xia said, the clips of the other contestants flashed by, and even Shen Xinyi, who had the most screen time besides her, was only featured for half a minute. But she, she took up the entire final minute.

Not only the last in line, but her proportion was shockingly large.

”I tell you!” Xu Xia took back the computer, ”Now, all the major forums are going crazy, your name has already entered the top ten in the search rankings, Luo Xiaoqian, this time, if you don’t become a sensation, it would be an outrage!”

”Hmph, trying to stand out through stuff like this is just low!” Someone nearby immediately said loudly with a sneer.

Without turning her head, Luo Xiaoqian knew it was Shen Xinyi’s people.

Xu Xia curled her lip, ”You’re sophisticated, then you try making it into the top ten in the search rankings!”

In the Beijing Competition Area, among fifty contestants, Shen Xinyi was the one most favored by the media.

Not to mention looks and temperament, having received music and dance education since childhood, she had won music awards even during her childhood, so her talent was naturally very formidable. Luo Xiaoqian, on the other hand, was a complete dark horse, shocking everyone with her remarks during the selection process and now, with significant emphasis in the promotional clip, she easily caught everyone’s attention.

Curiosity is universal.

Even Shen Xinyi only got thirty-five seconds of screen time, whereas she got a full minute, and what’s more, she came right after Shen Xinyi, closing the show. Everyone was wondering who this girl was and just how capable she must be to get such a spotlight.

Her line, ”I want to make money, I want to be famous,” also caused quite a stir online.

Some supported her, calling her genuine and unpretentious.

Others accused her of being opportunistic, trying to stand out through sensational statements.

The fan forum that was created for her just yesterday had already exceeded a hundred thousand posts overnight, with two camps arguing heatedly online, completely overshadowing Shen Xinyi.

Even in the search rankings, Shen Xinyi was forcefully pushed out of the top ten by her.

With this backdrop, it was only natural that Shen Xinyi found her unbearable and targeted her whenever possible.

Unfortunately, all of this went completely over Luo Xiaoqian’s head, and if it hadn’t been for Xu Xia showing her the video, she would still be clueless.

”It seems the upper echelons at EM have started to take notice of you!” Xu Xia concluded while nibbling on a chicken leg.

She knew Luo Xiaoqian best and certainly understood that Luo had neither money nor influential backing; it was impossible that someone was hyping her up. The only possibility was that her talents had won the appreciation of EM’s higher-ups.

Imagining her best friend’s bright future, Xu Xia sincerely rejoiced for her.

”Here’s to the future diva, cheers!” She lifted her juice with a smile.

Across from her, Luo Xiaoqian tensed up at the mention of EM’s senior executives.

Dammit, how could she have forgotten about that phone call.
