After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 27: Chapter 27: Pie in the Sky

Ailin placed the pen on the document, ”I’m very busy, so let’s keep this short. This is a five-year contract. During the contract period, we will provide you with various supports including training, single production... and so on. For the five-year term, the company will provide you with a living allowance of five thousand RMB per month, of course, this is just the basic living expenses, not including the commissions from various performances and the sales commission from your singles or CDs. If there are other income sources, like advertising revenue, you can also get a commission. Our general split is sixty-forty, sixty for you, forty for the company!”

Luo Xiaoqian’s eyes widened.

This was simply a pie falling from the sky!

She was worried about not having a job and soon not having enough to eat, and now such an income was being presented to her.

”You’re not willing?” Ailin looked at her face, her tone anxious, ”Or, have you already signed a contract with another company?”

”No, no!” Luo Xiaoqian hurriedly waved her hands, ”I just feel it’s all so sudden, so... I wanted to ask, does every contestant sign this contract?”

”Of course not!” Ailin took a sip of her coffee, ”We certainly don’t offer it to just anyone, but only to those who we think are qualified, like Miss Luo, for example!”

She glanced at her watch, ”So, Miss Luo, do you want to sign with us?”

”I...” Luo Xiaoqian pursed her lips, ”May I take a look at the contract?”

”Of course, but my time is limited, as you know. The company is taking this talent show very seriously, and there’s still a lot to do for the next rounds!”

”I’ll be quick!” Luo Xiaoqian flipped through the contract, frowning at the dense text. She was always poor at such matters, ”Five years, isn’t that a bit long?”

”To grow a newcomer into a star, how much manpower and resources need to be invested, I won’t elaborate on that. Would you want your singer, who you’ve invested money to cultivate, to just go to another company as soon as they get popular?” Ailin asked with a smile.

Luo Xiaoqian smiled awkwardly, ”Of course not, I...”

”I understand your concerns. I can assure you, we have enough strength to promote you. For you, this is an absolute opportunity, an opportunity not to be missed. I hope you think it over carefully.”

Thinking about next month’s meal money that she didn’t have and her debts, Luo Xiaoqian bit her lip and picked up the pen on the table.

Just as she was about to sign, she suddenly remembered something.

”Miss Ailin, I have one last question. Is this EM Group company a subsidiary of Emperor View Group?”

Ailin paused, then shook her head.

EM Group is an independent group company. Although the investor is the same, it is definitely not a subsidiary.

Only then did Luo Xiaoqian feel reassured and neatly signed her name at the bottom of the ”Party B” section.

Watching her sign in the several places that required her signature, Ailin finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Her boss had made it very clear when giving her the orders: if she couldn’t get Luo Xiaoqian to sign, she would be out of a job herself.

”Pleasure doing business, thank you!”

Ailin’s tone conveyed gratitude.

Luo Xiaoqian had no idea that by signing this contract, she had just saved Ailin’s job.

”It’s me who should be saying thank you!” Luo Xiaoqian passed the contract with both hands.

”This copy is yours! Tomorrow morning, please come to the company to report. The address is on the contract. Please make sure to keep the details of the contract confidential. I assume I don’t need to explain the reason?” Ailin said with a smile.
