After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 31: Chapter 31 Not a Dead Body

Walking into the office, Leng Zimo carried her into the spacious hall, heading towards the inner resting room.

On one side of the bedroom was a floor-to-ceiling glass window, the curtains parted, with only a sheer layer of fabric that blocked sight but not sunlight.

Luo Xiaoqian’s eyes were wide open, looking not at him, but towards the direction of the floor-to-ceiling window.

The window was adorned with a shade of sheer curtain. At this moment, the sunlight was dazzling, and the sheer curtain could no longer block the sun’s rays. Once again, Lu Hao’s face appeared before her eyes, and she began to feel a slight ache in them.

Tears slid from her eyes, trickling down her cheeks and dampening her hair.

Seeing her tears only filled his face with anger.

”Don’t cry!”

She turned a deaf ear, as the tears silently fell, drop by drop.

Once, she had despised those kinds of people, but now, she herself had embarked on that path.

Truly, ironic!

”I said don’t cry!”

He growled as he bit her shoulder, roughly tearing open her clothes.

In his world, control was the foremost priority.

He liked to control everything.

If she disobeyed, of course she had to be punished.

......

......

Luo Xiaoqian was utterly exhausted, having woken up with a sore throat in the morning, which now seemed progressively worse.

Leng Zimo’s gaze fell on the dark red bite mark on her shoulder, his brow faintly furrowing.

He lifted his finger, carefully touching her wound.

”Does it hurt?”

She twisted her shoulder to dodge his hand, grabbing the blanket to wrap around her body, and with a suppressed groan of pain, she stood up. As soon as she got up, a wave of dizziness hit her.

Noticing something amiss, Leng Zimo rolled out of bed, grabbed her arm, and placed his hand on her forehead.

Her forehead was burning hot.

No wonder, he had felt her body was overly warm just before.

”Damn it, you have a fever! Why didn’t you say so earlier?” he grumbled discontentedly.

”And then what, you would have shown mercy and left me untouched?” Luo Xiaoqian tried to push his hand away, ”You’re the boss; since I’ve taken your money, I obviously have no right to resist.”

What was the point in pretending to show mercy now?

Seeing her pale face, anger surged in his heart once again.

Bracing herself against the floor, Luo Xiaoqian struggled to stand, only to fall to the ground again.

Leng Zimo tightened his arms and lifted her horizontally.

He placed her into the bathtub, carefully adjusting the water temperature, and turned on the faucet.

She just tilted her face away, not daring to look at him, although they had been intimate more than once. Still, she could not bring herself to look at him.

Gradually, the water rose, completely soaking her body.

Leng Zimo extended his hand.

Luo Xiaoqian curled up, hugging her arms around herself, ”I can manage on my own!”

The thought of a man helping her bathe was something she simply could not accept.

Glancing sideways at her flushed face, Leng Zimo did not insist.

He let her wash herself and turned to enter the adjacent shower, turning on the water.

Luo Xiaoqian sat in the bathtub, her face hanging down, not daring to lift it even a little, for fear of seeing him again, and hurriedly washed herself clean. Noticing the bathrobe hanging on the outside of the door, she hesitated and was afraid to stand up.
