After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 10: Chapter 10 What Taobao Offers

Ignoring the driver’s disdainful look, she trembled as she dialed Xu Xia’s number, ”Hurry and save the day, I forgot my wallet!”

Xu Xia arrived just in time to save the day, paying the taxi fare for her and not forgetting to give the still cursing taxi driver the middle finger. Her eyes, made up with smoky makeup, suddenly goggled upon seeing Luo Xiaoqian.

”Luo Xiaoqian, look at you hobnobbing with the rich now?” She reached out and pinched the hem of her blouse, ”My goodness, this is Versace’s latest season shirt, and these pants, damn, even the glasses are...”

Versace?!

Luo Xiaoqian looked down at the shirt and jeans she was wearing, thinking they were just ordinary clothes.

Rich people really are generous!

”They’re all fakes, got them from Taobao!” She blurted out casually.

”No way, Huaxia really lives up to its name as the number one hub of knock-offs. Look at this embroidery, it’s just like the real thing!” Xu Xia exclaimed in awe, ”Later, send me the link; I want to buy a set too!”

Luo Xiaoqian nonchalantly agreed as Xu Xia’s gaze fell on her neck, and her eyes narrowed with innuendo, ”Even got that from Taobao, huh? Sister, I really don’t believe that rose on your neck is from Taobao too?”

A rose on the neck?

”What are you talking about?” Luo Xiaoqian asked, perplexed.

Xu Xia reached into her bag, pulled out a compact mirror, and handed it to her, ”Take a look for yourself!”

Taking the compact mirror, she looked at her own neck. In the small reflection, her slender, fair neck was visible, and several bright red love bites peeked out from under her collar.

Luo Xiaoqian’s face instantly flushed with heat as she hurriedly fastened the top button of her shirt.

Next to her, Xu Xia just burst out laughing.

”That’s right, I’ve been telling you, Luo Xiaoqian, the best way to get over a breakup is to find a new man. Spill the beans, who’s this impressive guy who’s pulled you out of misery?”

Pulled out of misery?

Luo Xiaoqian grimaced.

If she could do it all over again, Luo Xiaoqian would have preferred never having gone to the Empire Building, never having been bamboozled by Zhang Hua into trying to create some scandal for headlines.

If that had been the case, she wouldn’t have met that man, nor would she have drunkenly consumed that spiked bottle of fancy mineral water, and she certainly wouldn’t have offered up her virginity to him...

”We’re running out of time!” Xu Xia glanced at her watch, grabbed her arm, ”Hurry, let’s get going!”

Only then did Luo Xiaoqian remember the real reason for her visit, and she rushed with Xu Xia into the hotel lobby.

”Xu Xia, quick!” Inside the lobby, a young man who was rather thin and wearing a name badge shouted when he saw Xu Xia, ”Over here, this way!”

”She hasn’t put on her makeup yet!” Xu Xia said, pulling Luo Xiaoqian along and introducing her to the young man, ”This is my junior sister Luo Xiaoqian, my boyfriend, Chen Chao!”

”Nice to meet you!” Luo Xiaoqian greeted politely.

Chen Chao glanced at Luo Xiaoqian’s face, ”Not everyone is like you, no need for makeup to play a panda. Xiao Qian, just tidy up your hair a bit and get ready, it’s almost your turn!”

”You’re the one who looks like a panda!” Xu Xia retorted with a laugh, reaching into her bag and passing the makeup kit to Luo Xiaoqian.

”Number 12!” Someone was already calling out nearby.

”Over here!” Handing the makeup kit to Luo Xiaoqian, Xu Xia hurried off towards the casting office.

”You get ready too; I’ve got things to do,” said Chen Chao with a smile before turning and walking away.
