After rejecting my celebrity husband

Chapter 25: Chapter 25 Resignation

”No way around it, since you, as the eldest son, have run off, the old man insists that I get married every day for the sake of continuing the Leng Family line,” Leng Zirui leaned in, nudging his arm. ”I thought the girl just now wasn’t bad, how about you introduce me?”

”She’s mine!” Leng Zimo said dominantly.

”Deal!” Leng Zirui chuckled sinisterly, showing him the voice recorder pen in his hand. ”Now, I can report back to the old man!”

He pressed the voice recorder pen and immediately their conversation played back.

...

”I thought the girl just now wasn’t bad, how about you introduce me?”

”She’s mine!”

...

Leng Zimo frowned in displeasure, ”You’re sick!”

”Can’t help it!” Leng Zirui shrugged his shoulders. ”The old man said either I get married, or I find a way to make you get married. Otherwise, he’ll call me back home. For the sake of my wonderful life, you as my big brother should just sacrifice a little. After all, you guys in the entertainment industry don’t care about a little scandal, let alone, this scandal is just a limited spread!”

Tucking the voice recorder pen away, he once again picked up his wine glass. ”Seriously though, big brother, who is that girl? When did you meet her? She seems to have quite the temper. Do you need me to teach you a few tricks...”

”If you don’t stop talking nonsense, I’ll have you called back here tomorrow!” Leng Zimo threatened coolly.

”Alright!” Leng Zirui raised his hands in surrender. ”I didn’t say anything. Come on, it’s not often that we brothers get together, let’s drink!”

......

......

Luo Xiaoqian dashed from the stairs to the floor below, just in time to meet Xu Xia who was catching up.

”Xiao Qian, are you okay?”

Xu Xia steadied her arm, looking her over from head to toe.

”I’m fine, go help me quietly take my clothes and stuff out; I’ll wait for you in the alley next door!” Luo Xiaoqian said in a frightened tone, immediately running barefoot down the stairs.

Xu Xia figured she had escaped from Lin Shaocong and didn’t think too much of it; she directly went back to the bar and approached Zhao Feifei.

”Manager Zhao!”

”You’re just in time!” Liu Feifei put the phone down. ”Take your things and Luo Xiaoqian’s and get out immediately. From this moment, I don’t want to see either of you ever again!”

Xu Xia was stunned, then extended her palm, ”What about my salary?”

”Salary?” Liu Feifei’s chin lifted with disdain. ”Look at what you’ve done to this place. It’s generous enough that I’m not asking you to compensate for my losses, and you still want a salary?”

”Liu Feifei, let me tell you, don’t fall into my hands in the future!” Pointing at her face, Xu Xia cursed angrily, then dashed backstage to grab her and Luo Xiaoqian’s belongings, hurrying downstairs.

In the alley not far from Golden Palace, sure enough, Luo Xiaoqian was there, hugging her arms waiting for her.

As the two of them changed clothes in a nearby public restroom, Xu Xia told her about being fired.

Hearing they wouldn’t get their salary, Luo Xiaoqian also felt a tightness in her heart, having hoped to endure a few more days to get paid. Now it seemed that what to eat next month had become a big problem.

”I’m sorry, Xiao Xia, it’s me who has dragged you down again!” She said with an apologetic face to Xu Xia.

”Nonsense, what’s this talk of dragging down? Didn’t you stand up for me last time? We’re sisters!” Xu Xia glanced at her nonchalantly. ”What’s there to fear? If one place doesn’t suit the lord, there’s always another. We’ve both already passed the auditions. If we even win a place, we’ll be signed singers straight away. Then, if she begs us to come, we won’t give her the time of day!”
