I Am Your Natural Enemy

The next day, Wen Yan was still lying dead in Lord Zhu’s new home. Today, his symptoms had almost disappeared, but Lord Zhu still brought him a small pot filled with sweet soup.

Holding a small bowl, Wen Yan sipped the sweet soup along the edge. He had begun to find this thing quite delicious; that warm feeling in his stomach greatly alleviated the discomfort.

He asked Lord Zhu again today, twice Lord Zhu said, this is just ordinary sweet soup, something every common household has, it doesn’t need the finest white flour, nor does the sugar need to be refined sugar.

The simplest, most ordinary things are the best. It has been this way for hundreds of years. If a child at home was unwell, they would cook a bit of this, and it remains that way even today.

Easy to digest, hot food, with sugar.

Wen Yan didn’t ask further, he just went into the kitchen to learn a bit, and indeed it was the simplest thing, just like in his memory, something a ten-year-old child could make twenty years ago, with a difficulty level equivalent to scrambled eggs with tomatoes.

Of course, he knew that the most ordinary thing had the effect akin to a special remedy for his symptoms, which was obviously not normal.

He had asked twice wanting to ask about this, Lord Zhu didn’t say, but Wen Yan felt, it didn’t seem like he was being secretive, so there was only one possibility left.

Unable to say, or simply doesn’t know how to say.

Even though Lord Zhu didn’t say, Wen Yan could roughly guess that Lord Zhu knew how to treat his symptoms.

This would mean there’s a high chance of knowing what caused his symptoms in the first place.

Or perhaps, he had experienced something similar before.

Thinking of this, Wen Yan pondered about who exactly Lord Zhu was.

In his heart, there was a guess; his previous speculation was only one, that is, before his death, Lord Zhu was not granted the title of a prince, but he was a member of Old Zhu’s Family.

Back then, in later years of Old Zhu’s Family, just supporting the vast members of the royal family was already a great burden, who knows what kind of people belonged to Old Zhu’s Family.

But now, Wen Yan had a concept in his heart, a prince of Old Zhu’s Family, whose status didn’t seem to be low, yet there are no records of his deeds, and everyone seemingly has no impression.

Including those resurrected ancient ghosts, all had no impression.

There might be only one other explanation more fitting.

Related things have all been erased.

Just like the events Wen Yan experienced this time.

If that’s the case, then maybe indeed cannot be spoken of casually. If Lord Zhu really is a former participant and still the main character of the event, saying these things might actually bring about some impact, or attract attention.

Wen Yan lay on a recliner, with his eyes closed, reminiscing.

The first time Lord Zhu examined his body, at that time, his hand almost instinctively retracted, his shock was hard to completely conceal, he could hardly control his own emotions.

The two times he asked about the sweet soup, the first answer from Lord Zhu was very casual, the second time with the exact same answer, yet appeared exceptionally serious.

That expression absolutely was telling him something.

Just as he was pondering, his phone rang, and when he looked, it was a call from Feng Yao.

”What’s up?”

”You ran off too quickly yesterday, the colleagues over there contacted me, wanted me to help ask if you could provide some detailed information? After all, a report needs to be written, that ghost from yesterday was very peculiar and quite typical, definitely needing a major report to be written.”

”Don’t you all have records? What traits, what features, you have them all, what do you need to ask me for?”

”You solved the problem, in case we encounter something similar in the future...”

”Hold on.”

”What’s up?”

”Do you think the method I used to solve the problem is somewhat referential that I wouldn’t mention it?”

”...” Feng Yao was momentarily stunned, not knowing what to say.

Indeed, there are records. That ghost could pull out a person’s soul, that seems not just a simple power, but some sort of capability.

The current survivors are still in the hospital, actually didn’t suffer much harm, just that their soul was forced out, requiring time to recuperate.

According to the later statements of the survivors after waking up, that ghost possibly wasn’t doing it to harm people, most likely, the ghost just wanted a simple look.

The Scorching Sun Department investigated the prior victims, with the corpse-stained ghost, there’s nothing to say, clearly not a good person.

And the living victims, currently under investigation, there are already clues indicating that guy also had considerable issues.

But over there, the Scorching Sun Department’s willingness to further investigate didn’t seem too strong. After all, everyone knows, even if there is an issue, it’s just a low-level minion, showing up means an issue arose, and it wouldn’t implicate anyone.

Plus, they’re all colleagues. Considering multiple factors, the people from the Scorching Sun Department think that since the person is already dead, digging deeper isn’t quite appropriate.

Furthermore, as that Taoist priest said, it’s basically determined that the strange ghost was only trying to confirm something, not kill anyone.

And the one who went to solve the matter, Wen Yan, is a Soulless Human.

There’s indeed no referential value, purely overpowering through innate talent, others truly can’t learn it.

And with the useful information, the Scorching Sun Department indeed has everything. There’s no need for Wen Yan to supplement any details.

Feng Yao sighed.

”Alright, indeed that’s the case. Let’s leave it at that, bye.”

”Wait, have you had the feeling of wanting to puke in these past two days?”

”Uh...”

As soon as Wen Yan brought it up, Feng Yao’s expression turned somewhat uneasy again, the feeling suppressed by busy work resurfaced, and he felt a bit nauseous and wanting to throw up.
