DRIP, DRIP...

Yet, while the surviving Crimson Fang assassins and the S-Level Wind Element Ability User, Amotig, were all so shocked by Chen Fei’s fierce move they nearly wet themselves, Chen Fei himself couldn’t help but slightly squint. He glanced at the drops of blood slowly dripping from his fist, his eyes flashing with a cold glint.

”As expected of the legendary S-Level Magic. It’s certainly powerful,” he murmured before cracking a smile, a strong and ruthless look instantly filling his eyes. Suddenly, fine rings of crimson flame began to swirl around his body. His hands swiftly formed a Seal Gesture, and as his hand signs changed, a serpentine current of fire writhed and coiled into existence.

Clearly, these were the techniques of a Cultivator.

Chen Fei glanced at the scorching, searing serpent of flame and once again changed the Seal Gesture in his hands. Instantly, the serpentine current let out a roar, becoming incredibly lifelike. The scales enveloping it resembled Sword Qi, each one standing on end with a strikingly sharp glint.

”Damn it... You think I’ll give you a chance to make your move?” Upon seeing this, Amotig’s expression changed drastically. He quickly reached out and traced several Magic Marks in mid-air. He even bit his finger open, dripping his own blood onto the marks before launching them toward the core of the Giant of Wind.

”ROAR!”

An earth-shattering roar ripped through the air as a terrifying, all-consuming storm filled the sky. The giant’s massive body swept toward Chen Fei, its momentum unstoppable.

However, in that same instant, Amotig’s heart suddenly leaped into his throat. His clouded, sinister eyes couldn’t help but sweep across the area. Just as the Giant of Wind unleashed its destructive power to engulf everything, an undeniable edge of sharpness and searing heat began to build, brewing slowly like a volcano.

”Damn it, what is this?” As he felt that power, panic began to spread across Amotig’s old face, and he staggered backward in disbelief. Although he was injured, his senses and perception were still intact, allowing him to feel it with profound clarity. The energy lurking beneath the storm felt like a volcano on the verge of eruption, making his heart pound and his scalp tingle.

”Hm!?”

The next moment, he felt the sharp, searing aura abruptly change. Then, under the watch of his narrowing pupils, a sharp point inexplicably protruded from a spot on the massive body of the Giant of Wind he had summoned.

Immediately after, heedless of the look of horror on Amotig’s face, a scorching, razor-sharp crimson aura erupted from that point like a volcano. A huge hole was torn through the Giant of Wind’s elemental body, and in an instant, half of it dissolved away, revealing a Flame Snake to everyone’s sight.

”HISS! HISS!”

The Flame Snake, formed entirely of fire, let out an eardrum-shattering hiss. Its body began to grow larger and larger until it opened its maw and swallowed the remaining half of the Giant of Wind in a single gulp. In that instant, the surrounding air grew intensely hot, thick smoke rising from the ground. The Giant of Wind let out one final, dry roar.

Then, with a great RUMBLE, the massive elemental body collapsed. As the sound registered in Amotig’s old, pale eyes, he began to tremble uncontrollably, the skin on his face twitching in a frenzy.

”How is this possible...” Amotig’s eyes widened in horror as he muttered in disbelief. He couldn’t imagine that he had actually lost. Even after successfully summoning the S-Level Wind Element Magic—the Giant of Wind—it had been utterly useless.

The few remaining Crimson Fang assassins who witnessed this stood with their mouths agape, completely stunned. They never expected that the revered Magician Amotig’s most reliable S-Level Magic would be so utterly defeated.

What in the world is that?

As they lifted their heads toward the sky, where the serpentine creature now coiled in the Giant of Wind’s place, its eyes gleaming ominously, a chill shot up their spines. It wasn’t just because of those sinister eyes, but because of its terrifying power—it had devoured the Giant of Wind itself.

”HISS!”

But just then, to everyone’s horror, the Flame Snake coiled in the sky let out another hiss. Its massive body suddenly shrank, accelerated, and then shot forward at a terrifying speed, creating a piercing sonic boom as it aimed straight for Amotig!

”You—you, what do you want!?”

Seeing the monster that had destroyed his greatest asset—the Giant of Wind—now charging at him from the sky like a scorching beam of flame, Amotig’s face went deathly pale. Gripped by terror, he frantically cast the A-Level Defensive Magic, Wind God Guardian.

However, his actions were utterly futile.

SIZZLE!

The Flame Snake pierced through the air with a deafening sonic boom, its body suddenly wreathed in terrifying Sword Qi and scorching flames. These elements began to aggressively corrode the defensive wind elements protecting Amotig. The Flame Snake then opened its cavernous jaws, descending from above to swallow him whole.

”It should be over... huh!?” Witnessing this from atop a tall boulder nearby, Chen Fei whispered unconsciously, a small smile on his lips. He felt no pity for a killer whose hands were stained with an immeasurable amount of blood. The only reason he had dragged this out was to familiarize himself with the power inside his body. After all, it had been some time since the great battle at Tian Kui Peak, so he hadn’t had a proper fight and was still a bit rusty.

Yet, just as he spoke, the calm expression on his face suddenly changed. He couldn’t help but snap his head up, his gaze fixed on the peak of the mountain. There, a silver glint of cold light was rapidly approaching from the distance.

BANG!

In the same instant he noticed it, a black light with a metallic sheen appeared above the Flame Snake he had manifested, shooting down violently. The black light was too fast. It was so fast that even Chen Fei couldn’t react, which meant the Flame Snake he had summoned had no chance to dodge. In the next moment, as Chen Fei’s pupils constricted, the black light slammed heavily into the Flame Snake’s scorching, fiery head.

BOOM!

A deafening explosion thundered in everyone’s ears. All present stared, dumbfounded, as the Flame Snake, which had just been dominating the sky with a terrifying presence, was beheaded. Its massive body dissolved into a rain of fire that scattered downwards.

PFFT...

Everyone then heard a sound like someone spitting blood. They couldn’t help but look toward the face of the Easterner who was supposed to instill fear in them, only to find him slowly wiping his mouth, where the faint stain of blood remained.

”It’s... it’s the Master! He’s here!”

”Oh, God be praised! It really is the Master, Your Excellency Jack the Blade!”

The surviving Crimson Fang assassins, initially shocked by the scene, erupted into a frenzy of joyous relief. They could now see a gleaming silver blade embedded in the ground directly below where the beheaded Flame Snake had been. Only half the blade was visible, but it was impossible to miss.

”Oh, Your Excellency Jack the Blade! If you hadn’t appeared, you might never have seen me again.” Amotig finally let out a sigh of relief. He turned and addressed the mountain peak above, his face grim. ”I think you should make this foolish Easterner pay the price. Send him to meet God! He has already destroyed nearly half of Crimson Fang!” His words were drenched in thick killing intent.

The moment he finished speaking, everyone distinctly heard footsteps from the mountain peak. They were slow... steady... After what felt like an eternity, a figure finally came into view.

It was an old man wearing a brown vest and a cowboy hat. His face was rough, gaunt, and ancient. His entire body looked frail and small, standing only around five and a half feet tall. Yet, the moment that figure appeared, it exuded a terrifying pressure, like a blood-soaked blade—sharp and yet viscous, like fresh blood.

What a terrifying... fellow. Even Chen Fei couldn’t help but narrow his eyes, his gaze locking onto the newcomer. Though he had been mentally prepared, seeing the man in person still sent a chill through him, leaving him somewhat shaken. The murderous aura rolling off this man... was no joke.

”...Ahem, ahem ahem. Perhaps... I’ve arrived late?” the old man finally spoke, his voice trembling.

”Oh, Your Excellency Jack the Blade, you are not late,” Amotig said, his blood-streaked face twisting into a sinister expression. ”However, I think you should first slaughter him. Send him to meet God.”

”Slaughter him? Amotig, I’m afraid I must disappoint you,” the old man in the cowboy hat said, shaking his head slightly. ”I... cannot kill him.”

What!?

The words struck everyone like a bolt of lightning. Every single person’s expression changed in an instant, including Amotig’s. What had they just heard? Their organization’s greatest, most legendary King of Assassins—His Excellency Jack the Blade—claimed he couldn’t kill the Easterner? How was that possible? Was this some kind of joke? Everyone was stunned. Even Chen Fei’s expression turned strange.
