”Mr. Chen? What a pleasure to meet you.” However, as soon as Hu Yinglan heard Chen Fei’s name, a flash of extreme surprise crossed her mature, beautiful eyes as she extended her hand.

She wasn’t just being polite. As the recognized number-one actress at Huashu Media, she was well aware of why the company so greatly valued the young woman by her side. She knew exactly why Gu Feishuang had become the newcomer they were pouring all their efforts into cultivating. It was all because of one name, one young man: Chen Fei!

So, the name she had heard most often lately, the one that frequently occupied her thoughts, was naturally Chen Fei.

He was such a major figure that even the boss of Huashu Media had to show him the utmost respect. If I could connect with someone like him... she thought, her heart beginning to race, Even with my current status in the entertainment industry, I would undoubtedly benefit tremendously.

”I’ve long heard that our little Fei Shuang has a wonderful older brother—handsome, dashing, and extraordinary. If I’m not mistaken, the one she’s always thinking about must be you, Young Master Chen,” she teased, her mature eyes crinkling with a playful smile.

As an experienced woman, she knew exactly what Gu Feishuang’s lovesick behavior signified. That constant daydreaming and adorable mumbling to herself when she has a free moment... It’s obvious she’s fallen for someone. Hu Yinglan, who had been filming with Gu Feishuang recently, had taken note of it all.

She knew her ’little sister’ definitely had feelings for that Chen Fei—Brother Fei, as she called him—but all Hu Yinglan could do was feel a private twinge of jealousy.

After all, he’s a man of tremendous influence, someone who can make even the big boss of Huashu Media give him face. With his backing, Gu Feishuang’s future career is sure to be smooth sailing, free from many of the usual troubles and pitfalls. That’s exactly what everyone in our circle dreams of.

In fact, even though I’m over thirty, I’m still in my prime, at my most beautiful and goddess-like. My sultry figure, the alluring curves of my bust barely contained by this deep V-neck blue evening dress, my long, shapely legs... these are all qualities a true man of taste would pursue! And if Mr. Chen were to take an interest in me, I certainly wouldn’t mind sharing a pleasant evening with him. Unfortunately, he didn’t seem to have any such intentions, leaving her with a pang of regret.

Gu Feishuang’s face flushed bright red as she shyly protested, looking embarrassed. ”No, I don’t! Sister Yinglan, you’re always teasing me. You’re so annoying.”

In truth, she did harbor such feelings, and they had only grown stronger over time. Yet, she wasn’t ready to show them in front of Chen Fei. After all, he wasn’t just anyone; the sheer shock and pressure he represented made her hesitate. It wasn’t that she didn’t like him, but that she didn’t dare.

”Sister Yinglan is just joking.” Chen Fei gave a slightly awkward laugh and quickly turned to wave at Chen Hao, who was standing a short distance away. ”Chen Hao, what are you doing so far away? Come over here!” He was practically begging for a rescue.

He had, in fact, sensed Gu Feishuang’s affection for him, and he didn’t seem to have any resistance to it. For instance, even with her arm linked so intimately with his right now, he felt no awkwardness at all. On the contrary, it felt quite natural, which was proof enough. The problem was, in matters like these, Chen Fei—our dear Young Master Chen—seemed to be innately obtuse. To put it another way, he was as clueless as a block of wood, which was a real issue.

Seeing this, a flicker of disappointment crossed Gu Feishuang’s bright eyes, but she quickly concealed it. She turned and greeted the approaching Chen Hao warmly. ”Hello, I’m Gu Feishuang. You must be a friend of Brother Fei’s, too.”

”Hello, hello! My name is Chen Hao. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Miss Gu,” Chen Hao responded, growing flustered as Gu Feishuang enthusiastically extended her hand.

He timidly shook her outstretched hand for a brief moment before snatching his back as if struck by lightning. He looked like an innocent schoolboy terrified she might eat him, a reaction that stunned both Gu Feishuang and Hu Yinglan.

”Mr. Chen, your friend is truly...” Hu Yinglan trailed off, at a loss for words to describe Chen Hao’s awkward state, and couldn’t help but chuckle. Honestly, in this day and age, finding such an ’innocent’ young man was truly rare, wasn’t it? Heh. It’s actually quite adorable.

”What are you doing?” Chen Fei couldn’t help but laugh. ”HAHAHA. You’re the Young Master of the Hong Kong Chen Family, for crying out loud! Acting so bashful is just ridiculous! HAHA.”

But Chen Fei had no idea. The only reason Chen Hao, the dignified Young Master of the Hong Kong Chen Family, was acting so timidly was because of him! If Gu Feishuang hadn’t appeared to be Chen Fei’s incredibly close female companion, would he have been so nervous? Would he have been so cautious, afraid that a simple handshake might displease the great Young Master Chen? To put it bluntly, this was all Chen Fei’s fault! With his status as the Young Master of the Hong Kong Chen Family, what kind of beauty wouldn’t throw herself at him? Women would be willing to strip naked like little lambs just for the slightest chance to be associated with him. So how could he possibly be that ’innocent’? Why would he be nervous about a simple handshake with a woman? Come on, there was a reason for it, alright? It all depended on who he was dealing with!

At the same time, the entrance of the clubhouse suddenly grew lively. The banquet guests discovered that the night’s main host, Wuu Guangbin, the young master of Hong Kong Global Entertainment, was striding into the venue dressed in a strikingly handsome suit. Flanking him were Qian Jin, the only son of the president of Changhai Pharmaceutical Group, and Du Jincheng, the eldest son of Cripple Rong, the leader of Hong Kong’s New Yi’an.

But that wasn’t the most astonishing part. What was truly astounding was that these three men, despite their own high status, were gathered deferentially behind a proud-looking young man in his twenties.

This young man was about one point seven meters tall and slightly overweight, but his taste in clothing and the quality of his attire were exceptionally gentlemanly and high-end. His suit was a special edition designed by a famous Spanish fashion Grandmaster, completely unavailable on the open market.

As for his eyes, though they appeared ordinary at first glance, they concealed a mysterious, alluring charm. Many women in the room who met his gaze found themselves slowly becoming intoxicated and bewitched, a testament to the power of his stare.

Those from the upper circles of Hong Kong and Macau who recognized the slightly plump young man’s face couldn’t help but exclaim in shock, ”Second Young Master Ma?”

With their status and position, they knew ’clearly’ that in Hong Kong, apart from the official government powers, most other circles were under the dominion of the Five Great Noble Families.

And this slightly overweight young man was none other than Ma Tiansheng, the Second Young Master of the Ma Family, which ranked third among Hong Kong’s Five Great Tycoon Families! For someone of his stature to attend a banquet of ’this level’ was utterly shocking and completely unexpected.

Even the host of tonight’s banquet, Wuu Guangbin himself, hadn’t anticipated this. Just a moment ago, my brothers and I were planning to go and greet Young Master Chen when Ma Tiansheng, Second Young Master Ma, suddenly called, saying he wanted to come to my business dinner! The news was a pleasant surprise, but it also filled me with apprehension. The man’s reputation isn’t exactly stellar. For him to show up so suddenly is most likely a bad omen.

And indeed, events unfolded just as he had feared.

It turned out that Second Young Master Ma had taken a liking to the recently famous starlet, Gu Feishuang. Since she also happened to be invited tonight, he decided to drop by to ’test the waters,’ hoping something ’pleasant’ might occur.

His intentions put Wuu Guangbin in a difficult position. After all, while my Global Entertainment is powerful, Huashu Media is no pushover. And now, Second Young Master Ma wants to make a move on their newly promoted starlet, using my birthday banquet as the venue. This is no small problem. On top of that, there’s another very important matter, known to everyone in the upper echelons of Hong Kong and Macau: the Chen Family and the Ma Family do not get along. We had already invited Brother Hao, but now Ma Tiansheng suddenly appears... I just hope that when Brother Hao gets here, he doesn’t see him and get the wrong idea! Sigh, this is a real mess. A total mess.

Meanwhile, Chen Hao, who was wearing a hat, also noticed the newcomer’s identity. ”Ma Tiansheng?” he said, surprised.

”You know him?” Chen Fei asked curiously. His last name is Ma?

”Yeah, Brother Fei. His name is Ma Tiansheng. He’s the second grandson of the Ma family’s current Clan Leader,” Chen Hao replied with a nod and a touch of disdain. ”He’s a bit of a good-for-nothing, known for being lazy and unaccomplished.”

Just then, Ma Tiansheng’s proud gaze swept across the room, but it suddenly stopped, blazing with interest, on Chen Fei’s group. A hungry look appeared on his face as he made his way over, heading straight for Gu Feishuang.

”My dear beautiful lady, may I have the honor of this dance?” he asked Gu Feishuang, his voice dripping with masculine charm as he feigned the manners of a gentleman.

At the same time, his eyes shot a look of undisguised disgust at Chen Fei, the man Gu Feishuang was holding onto so intimately. He’d seen her in person at a party a few months ago and had wanted this rising little starlet for himself ever since. At the time, he had other, ’more important matters’ to attend to, so he had temporarily put the thought aside. But now, this starlet, a woman he, Ma Tiansheng, had already claimed in his mind, was clinging to another man right in front of him. How could he possibly be happy about that?
