Medical Sage

”Third Brother, when you say Brother Hao, are you by any chance referring to Chen Hao?” the man known as Guang Bin asked with a look of surprise. If it really was that Chen Hao, the thought of Brother Hao gracing his birthday banquet filled even him, the young master of Global Entertainment, with excitement and trepidation.

After all, the Chen Family was one of Hong Kong’s Five Great Tycoon Families, placing them among the top magnates in Hong Kong and Macau. Although his own Global Entertainment Wuu Family was considered quite formidable in the eyes of ordinary people, a true giant in the entertainment circles of Hong Kong and Macau, they were still leagues below the Chen Family. They simply weren’t in the same class.

That was why he was so surprised, yet at the same time, filled with anticipation. If... if the great Chen Hao is really willing to grace my, Wuu Guangbin’s, birthday banquet and give me some face, what an incredible honor that would be! How much prestige it would bring!

At the very least, it would completely stun his group of sycophantic friends, and his own standing among them would skyrocket instantly! It wasn’t for any other reason than the guest’s identity.

The Young Master of the great Hong Kong Chen Family!

”Guang Bin, isn’t that obvious? In all of Hong Kong, who else besides Chen Hao, the Young Master of the Hong Kong Chen Family, is qualified to be called ’Brother Hao’ by Third Brother?” As Wuu Guangbin stood there in astonishment, another man in his early twenties beside him couldn’t help but speak, managing to both flatter Du Jincheng, the man with the gold chain, and emphasize Chen Hao’s elevated status.

It couldn’t be helped. Even though the family of the man now speaking was considered reputable and had some standing in Hong Kong, when all was said and done, they were at most on par with the Global Entertainment Wuu Family, perhaps even a little weaker. Naturally, they could never compare to the illustrious Chen Family.

If one were to rank their families, Chen Hao’s Chen Family would undoubtedly be S-rank, while Wuu Guangbin’s Global Entertainment Wuu Family would be an A at best. Only the man with the gold chain, Du Jincheng, might have a more formidable background, as his father was Cripple Rong, the leader of the Hong Kong New Yi’an!

”Qian Fang is right, it is indeed Young Master Chen, Chen Hao. I heard he recently returned from abroad. This is a good opportunity to invite him out to catch up and have some fun. What do you think, Guang Bin?” As expected, a smug look appeared on Du Jincheng’s face. It was as if being able to call Chen Hao ’Brother Hao’ was a simple and prideful matter.

But that was just how it was. After all, even the New Yi’an, the syndicate his father controlled and one of the top gangs in Hong Kong and Macau, had merely been propped up from behind the scenes by the Chen Family over the years. To put it bluntly, his father, Cripple Rong, was just a puppet—a subordinate installed and supported by the Chen Family!

As such, he understood just how terrifying they were behind the scenes, and his heart was filled with a deep sense of awe.

”Of course, of course! If Young Master Chen can attend my birthday banquet, it would be the greatest honor. I’d welcome him with open arms; I have no objections at all. Third Brother, I’ll have to trouble you with this…” Wuu Guangbin’s eyes lit up, his expression a mixture of anxiety and excitement.

He knew that if he could actually get Young Master Chen to grace his birthday banquet, it would be an occasion that would bring him immense prestige. There was no doubt about it!

”Heh, I can’t guarantee Chen Hao will come. It depends on your luck. I’ll go make a call first,” Du Jincheng said, smiling as he stood up.

「Meanwhile」

Chen Hao, having just left the hospital after a check-up, received a call from Du Jincheng. When he heard the reason for the call, he frowned slightly and paused. ”Global Entertainment’s Wuu Guangbin? A birthday banquet?”

”Yes, Brother Hao! I heard you’re back from abroad. It’s been so long since we’ve all seen each other. Since it’s Guang Bin’s birthday today, how about you come out and have some fun, catch up a little?” Du Jincheng’s voice on the other end of the line was filled with anticipation.

”I… I’ll call you tonight. We’ll talk then,” Chen Hao had initially wanted to refuse, but the words caught in his throat. He hesitated for a moment, a flicker in his eyes, before changing his tune.

”Xiaohao, what’s going on? What business dinner?” his father, Chen Yaoyang, who was nearby, had evidently overheard him muttering and asked with a frown.

”It’s like this. Uncle Rong’s son, Du Jincheng, just called. He said the young master of Global Entertainment, Wuu Guangbin, is having a birthday banquet tonight and asked if I was interested in going…” Chen Hao quickly explained.

”Nonsense! You haven’t even recovered yet. What birthday banquet are you going to?” Chen Yaoyang immediately cut him off, his tone laced with anger.

Dong Shuxian also nodded in agreement, advising him earnestly, ”Xiaohao, your father is right. You haven’t fully recovered yet. You should just stay home and rest for a while. Once you’re better, you can go out and have fun all you want. We definitely won’t stop you then.”

”Dad, Mom, you’ve misunderstood me. I don’t actually want to go, it’s just…” Chen Hao said quickly.

”Just what?”

”I was just thinking that when Brother Fei wakes up, maybe he’d be interested in going for some fun? After all, the person celebrating their birthday tonight is the young master of Global Entertainment. He’ll probably invite a lot of familiar faces from TV. I mean, Brother Fei is about my age. Wouldn’t he be interested?” Chen Hao explained.

To be perfectly honest, his first instinct upon receiving the call was to refuse. The only reason he had hesitated and offered a non-committal answer was entirely because of Chen Fei.

He’s a young man around my age, after all. He might not like a noisy birthday party, but the glamorous and beautiful female celebrities who are always on TV... surely he’d be interested in them, right? That was why he decided to consider it. I’ll ask Chen Fei for his opinion later tonight before deciding.

”This…” Hearing his son’s reasoning, Chen Yaoyang was stunned into silence.

He was no fool; he understood the hidden meaning in his son’s words perfectly well.

Though he was forty now, he had also lived through a wild and carefree youth. How could he not understand what was going through his son’s mind?

You know, faced with all those young, gorgeous, and alluring female celebrities, Chen Fei might actually be interested! After all, the temptation is undeniable!

”Alright, alright. Let’s head back first and discuss it later,” Dong Shuxian, who had also caught her son’s subtext, said, unable to stop herself from glaring at both her husband and her son.

「At the same time」

In a room within the luxurious Chen Family villa in Shallow Water Bay, Chen Fei’s eyes stirred as he slowly woke up.

Considering he had only been asleep for two or three hours at most, his previously pale complexion and utter exhaustion had vanished completely, replaced by a look of vigor and vitality.

Finally, there’s some movement. It seems it won’t be long before I successfully break through to the Qi Refining Fourth Layer! I’m really looking forward to it. Chen Fei’s Divine Sense spread out like a vast net. Feeling the changes within his body, he couldn’t help but smile, his eyes narrowing.

After all, I’ve been stuck at the peak of the Qi Refining Third Layer for several months. Now that there are finally signs of a breakthrough, how could I not be thrilled? The Qi Refining Fourth Layer is a qualitative leap from the third layer, marking the transition from the early stage to the Mid Stage Qi Refining! The improvement in strength goes without saying. The Qi Refining Fourth Layer is equivalent to the level of a nascent Innate Ancient Martial Artist. In the current Huaxia Circle of Ancient Martial Arts, one could walk around completely unrivaled. And that’s not even the most terrifying or appealing part. The truly frightening and attractive aspect is that once my Cultivation Level reaches the Qi Refining Fourth Layer—the Mid Stage Qi Refining—I can truly begin to cultivate Immortal Techniques and refine Immortal Weapons! What does that even mean? Just think about it! The spells from mythology that allow one to fly through the skies and move the earth, to slay gods and immortals, and those divine armaments and Immortal Treasures controlled by one’s mind and Divine Sense… perhaps, right here on Earth, they could be brought into existence, one by one, through my own hands!

At this thought, an excited smile touched Chen Fei’s lips, and an indescribable motivation surged through him. Then, without him even realizing it, the ”Scripture of Meditation” within him began to circulate on its own, enveloping his body in a milky-white glow.

”Come on, let’s do this! The wonderful Qi Refining Fourth Layer is waiting for me!” Chen Fei mumbled to himself, trying to be cute. He could truly feel his Cultivation Realm teetering on the edge of a breakthrough. It was only a matter of a day or two at most, and naturally, he was on cloud nine and unbelievably excited.

This time I came to Hong Kong not just to treat Chen Hao’s illness; deep down, I had other goals in mind! I still remember that night, how I only managed to escape in such a pathetic state...

As night fell, Chen Fei felt his stomach rumbling with hunger and stepped out of his room. Before he reached the main hall, he saw Chen Yaoyang, who had been waiting for him. Chen Yaoyang immediately came forward to greet him. ”Mr. Chen, you’re awake? Good evening.”

”Good evening,” Chen Fei nodded with a smile. ”Uncle Yaoyang, is there anything to eat? I’m starving!”

”Yes, yes! I’ll inform the kitchen to prepare something right away. Mr. Chen, please wait just a moment,” Chen Yaoyang replied without hesitation and hurried off to personally instruct the kitchen staff.

A short while later, Chen Hao also appeared in the hall. He looked at Chen Fei with respect and awe, saying gratefully, ”Brother Fei, thank you so much.”

”No need for thanks,” Chen Fei said with a noncommittal smile. ”After we eat, I’ll write you a prescription. Take the medicine as prescribed for about two months, and the tumor in your brain should disappear. You’ll be completely fine then.”

He certainly didn’t feel like it was a loss to come all the way to Hong Kong to treat someone. As the saying goes, one good turn deserves another, right? And look, the bottleneck in my cultivation has completely loosened because of this. At most, I’ll be able to break through to the Qi Refining Fourth Layer in a day or two. This is absolutely fantastic news! He was so overjoyed he could barely contain himself, thinking that this trip was absolutely worth it.
