”Well, we don’t need any travel documents for Hong Kong and Macau. Just flashing our credentials will suffice,” the Flying Leopard member responded quickly.

”Your credentials? Mind if I take a look?” Chen Fei asked, raising an eyebrow.

”Not at all, of course not…” Upon hearing this, the Flying Leopard member’s face fell, and he pulled a black booklet from his coat. The credential looked quite ordinary; it contained only two or three pages with a few lines of small print. Only the Jujube Mud Seal stood out. On the front cover, the words ’National Security’ were modestly embossed.

”These aren’t named?” Chen Fei flipped through it for a moment but found no personal information. A strange glint appeared in his dark eyes as he spoke.

”Uh, well, it has a number…” The Flying Leopard member’s face twisted, clearly anticipating what Chen Fei would suggest next. He knew he’d be punished back at the base if he lost this thing. ”It has a number,” he repeated with a pained expression.

”A number? I doubt anyone would bother to check. I’ll borrow your ID for a couple of days. I’ll give it back when I return from Macau,” Chen Fei said, feigning nonchalance as he ’negotiated’.

”Well, Mr. Chen, I… Okay, go ahead and use it,” the Flying Leopard member replied, pausing reflexively but not daring to refuse. He conceded with a troubled look.

It seemed he’d thought it through. Even if he lost the credential, the reason would be ’extenuating.’ If he explained the situation, his superiors would probably turn a blind eye and let it slide. But if he dared to brazenly refuse Chen Fei right now... heavens knew what that baleful star would do to him. He seemed to be in a terrible mood! He definitely didn’t want to become another unlucky sod like Liu Chun! That would be a true injustice!

”Thanks,” Chen Fei said, his eyes crinkling in appreciation.

Three to four hours later, outside Macau International Airport, three black luxury MPVs were parked side by side. Each vehicle was worth millions.

Beside each of these multimillion-dollar MPVs stood two men in black suits. Their expressions were stern, their eyes sharp, and they exuded an imposing aura. Their leader was an authoritative man in his forties, dressed in a suit and tie.

This man was none other than Bi Jiewei, the general manager of Golden Crown, one of Macau’s six top casinos.

To have climbed to the position of general manager in a top Macau casino, Bi Jiewei was naturally no ordinary person. He was the spokesperson for the Macau branch of the Hong Kong Sun Yee On, which meant he was naturally backed by the Hong Kong Chen Family. On his own turf in Macau, no one dared to look down on him; he was considered a top-tier big shot.

Of course, even though Bi Jiewei had made quite a name for himself in Macau and could intimidate people from all walks of life, he was well aware of his own limitations.

He knew full well that he was, at best, a spokesperson. He might be able to intimidate the average person, but in the eyes of the truly powerful, he was nothing. Without the backing of New Mark and the Chen Family—one of Hong Kong’s Five Great Tycoon Families—he, Bi Jiewei, was less than dirt.

So, when he received a call a few hours ago from Chen Yaoyang himself—the acting patriarch of the Hong Kong Chen Family—he didn’t hesitate to drop everything, no matter how important, and rush to Macau International Airport with his entourage.

He had to be there to pick up two very important people.

Yes! VIPs! Real VIPs!

”Mr. Chen, welcome. It must have been a long journey. I am Bi Jiewei, the general manager of Macau’s Golden Crown. A pleasure to meet you.” As soon as Chen Fei walked out of the terminal, Bi Jiewei hurriedly greeted him, his attitude impeccably respectful. He had apparently received Chen Fei’s photo from Chen Yaoyang beforehand, which was how he recognized him instantly. He was, in fact, on high alert.

He couldn’t help it! Even his biggest backer, Chen Yaoyang, had made it crystal clear on the phone. This Mr. Chen was a true VIP. Bi Jiewei was not to show the slightest neglect or give any offense; otherwise, his own big boss would personally put a bullet in his head! With such a threat coming directly from the big boss, how could Bi Jiewei dare to be careless? A storm of terror raged in his heart! That was the acting patriarch of the Chen Family, one of Hong Kong’s Five Great Tycoon Families! Bi Jiewei’s body began to tremble uncontrollably. He simply couldn’t imagine the status of a young man whom even his great backer, Chen Yaoyang, had to treat with such reverence! Such a lofty height was something he didn’t even dare to dream of, let alone aspire to reach.

As for the men in black Bi Jiewei had brought, they were also somewhat stunned. Bi Jiewei was their big boss, the general manager of Golden Crown, one of Macau’s top six casinos. Yet here he was, showing the utmost respect to a young man. His tone was even humble, which dumbfounded his men who were used to his typically imposing demeanor. The sight made their scalps tingle.

”Golden Crown? Uh, did Mr. Chen Yaoyang send you?” Chen Fei looked at the man in the suit before him with some surprise. He frowned in thought before suddenly speaking.

”That’s right. Our Mr. Chen knew you were coming to Macau and immediately called me to pick you up, worried you weren’t familiar with the area,” Bi Jiewei replied, sweat beading on his forehead as he heard Chen Fei refer to his boss by his full name so casually. He gave an awkward yet respectful smile.

”Oh, that’s perfect. Since he sent you, you should know where my friend is being held, right? Which casino?” Chen Fei asked immediately.

”Mr. Chen, if I’m not mistaken, your friend should be detained at ’Nine Heavens of the Milky Way’. That casino is an enterprise of Macau’s Hex Family,” Bi Jiewei stated at once. He was, of course, aware of this, as Chen Yaoyang had tasked him with the initial investigation.

”Oh, Nine Heavens of the Milky Way? Good. Take me there directly,” Chen Fei said without a second thought.

”Right now?” Bi Jiewei asked, taken aback.

”What, is there a problem?” Chen Fei asked, naturally puzzled.

”No, no, no problem at all. However, Mr. Chen, our Mr. Chen Yaoyang is also on his way. He’s on a helicopter right now. You see…” Bi Jiewei explained hastily, afraid of angering Chen Fei.

”He’s coming too?” Chen Fei frowned and fell silent for a long moment. ”Alright then. How long will it take? Where do we wait?”

”Since it’s a helicopter, it won’t take long. As for where to land… Mr. Chen, perhaps you could get in the car first. I’ll take you there,” Bi Jiewei said, finally letting out a breath of relief.

”Mm, alright.”

Chen Fei got into one of the luxury MPVs, and the vehicles slowly drove away from the airport.

About half an hour later, the vehicle pulled into a seaside villa. Chen Yaoyang had already arrived. Beside him stood a one-eyed elder in his seventies or eighties. He was grinning faintly, but his deeply sunken eye socket was enough to make one’s skin crawl and send a chill down their spine.

Seeing this, a tactful Bi Jiewei withdrew with his men.

”Mr. Chen, this is the Great Elder of our Chen Family. Great Elder, this is Mr. Chen,” Chen Yaoyang said, making the introductions after Bi Jiewei’s group had left.

”Hello.”

The One-eyed Elder’s murky eye had been studying Chen Fei quietly. Upon hearing Chen Yaoyang’s words, his heavily wrinkled old face broke into a smile. He extended a trembling hand and said, ”I have long heard of a young man who is like a dragon among men, truly extraordinary, who even defeated that old monster from the Ma Family with ease! Seeing you today, it’s clear the rumors are true!”

Chen Fei said nothing, because he was stunned to see a ball of fire faintly materialize in the withered palm the elder extended toward him.

An Ability User? Chen Fei mused, but he shook the offered hand without any concern. An instant later, there was a muffled thud and an incredulous grunt. The flame floating in the One-eyed Elder’s palm was extinguished instantly, and the backlash caused his face to flush an unnatural, visible red.

”Great Elder, you…” Chen Yaoyang exclaimed in surprise, not having processed what just happened.

”It’s nothing.” The One-eyed Elder waved his hand, signaling that he was fine. He then gazed at Chen Fei, his murky eye filled with genuine admiration. ”Worthy of being called Mr. Chen. The younger generation is to be feared! Truly to be feared!”

He himself was an A-Level Ability User, comparable to a first-class master of Ancient Martial Arts, and he hadn’t held back much in his probing just now. Yet, Chen Fei had easily bested him, and in such a terrifying manner! He had been defeated squarely and directly! So now he finally understood why that old monster from the Ma Family had been thrashed by a ’mere’ youth. It wasn’t because the old monster was too weak, but because Chen Fei was too strong.

With that thought, he went straight to the point. ”Mr. Chen, we came this time to see if you need any help. The Hex Family may be the top dog here in Macau, but this time, they have shown our Chen Family too little respect. Naturally, we need to have a word with them.”

”That’s right,” Chen Yaoyang chimed in. ”Mr. Chen, please don’t hesitate to give us any orders. The Chen Family stands entirely with you this time.”

He could now clearly see the immense shift in the Great Elder’s attitude toward Chen Fei, from initial skepticism to extreme approval. This change was a great relief to him.

He couldn’t help it! To get the Great Elder to come out of seclusion and provide support, he had gritted his teeth, withstood immense pressure from within the family, and even used the precious one-time directive power granted to him as the acting patriarch! If he had made the wrong choice, his tenure as acting patriarch would likely have come to an end. But thankfully…
