Medical Sage

Sixth Lord Hee felt his body begin to tremble uncontrollably, his forehead instantly slick with large beads of cold sweat. He stood there, face ashen and expression dumbfounded, unable to articulate the storm of feelings raging within him. All he knew was that sweat was dripping down and soaking his collar, his limbs felt like ice, and a bone-deep chill was creeping up his spine.

After all, an existence on the level of the Great Elder of the Chen Family was simply terrifying! Even the current head of their Hex Family of Macau paled in comparison; they weren’t even in the same league. But now... who is that young man? How can he make an old monster like the Great Elder of the Chen Family bow his head and stand behind him like a loyal servant?

”Something huge has happened...” Sixth Lord Hee murmured to himself, a wave of unimaginable shock and fear washing over him. GULP. He swallowed hard, his body once again shuddering uncontrollably.

But he quickly gave himself a mental shake, realizing this was no time to be dazed. Gathering his courage, he clenched his jaw and walked directly past the others in the VIP room, stopping before the One-eyed Elder. He bent at the waist, his voice filled with profound reverence. ”Greetings... Sir.” He didn’t know how the man should be addressed, so he chose the most respectful term he could think of, bowing at a steep seventy-five-degree angle until his forehead nearly touched the tips of his own large leather boots.

HISS!

Witnessing this, Ke Xiangdong and the others went pale. They all sucked in a sharp breath, their faces a mask of shock and fear. That was Sixth Lord Hee of the Hex Family of Macau! He was an undeniable magnate in Macau’s elite circles, an absolute titan! Yet now, he was acting with such deference toward the unassuming, servant-like old man standing behind Chen Fei. It felt like a dream.

A hush fell over the top-floor VIP room of the Nine Heavens of the Milky Way, broken only by the sound of ragged, heavy breathing. Ke Xiangdong, Scarface, and others who knew Sixth Lord Hee’s status were completely petrified, their bodies trembling uncontrollably. They couldn’t fathom it. An individual who commanded such extreme respect and awe from even the mighty Sixth Lord Hee had been standing behind Chen Fei like a servant the entire time, not even taking a seat. What does that imply? The mere thought was enough to shatter their minds.

”Do you know me?” the One-eyed Elder asked, lifting his head with mild surprise. His cloudy eye swept over Sixth Lord Hee’s face. Finding it unfamiliar, he lost interest, his eyelid drooping as he lowered his head and resumed his silence, just like a true servant of Chen Fei’s.

Seeing this, the faces of the onlookers, especially Ke Xiangdong and his men, became even more ghastly, their knuckles turning white from clenching their fists. When he’d seen Sixth Lord Hee approach the One-eyed Elder with such terrifying subservience, he was already scared witless. But now, to see that the elder either didn’t recognize Sixth Lord Hee or simply didn’t care... his heart pounded in his chest. He was truly, utterly terrified. That was Sixth Lord Hee of the Hex Family of Macau, a top-tier powerhouse who could dominate the city’s elite circles! For such a man to so humbly offer a warm cheek only to have it met with a cold shoulder was simply unbelievable. Surely, with his status, there was no need to be so debased, right?

”This junior was fortunate enough to see you once, several years ago. But... but what brings you here today?” Sixth Lord Hee stammered, his fear growing as he stared at the elder’s face, his teeth chattering.

He couldn’t help it. While he, Sixth Lord Hee, was a big shot in Macau and even across Hong Kong and Macau, in front of a living fossil like the Great Elder of the Chen Family, he was less than nothing. Even his late father’s generation would have been considered small fry, completely insignificant! He was truly terrified, feeling a pressure unlike any he had ever known in his life. At the same time, why are the Great Elder of the Chen Family and the acting clan head here? And who is that smiling young man?

”Oh, you’re the son of... what was his name... Hee Jinhui?” the One-eyed Elder said after a moment of silence, suddenly recalling something. Despite his age, his memory was excellent. He vaguely remembered there was a promising young man in the Hee Family named Hee Jinhui, but it was a shame fate had been cruel, and he’d died young of some terminal illness.

”Yes, yes! Hee Jinhui was my father, and Hee Qiuming is my grandfather,” Sixth Lord Hee said quickly, forcing a smile upon hearing his father mentioned. His posture was utterly deferential.

To this moment, he still couldn’t fathom why a person of such exalted status would condescend to cause trouble in a ’third-tier’ place like a casino. Because of this, he was terrified to his core, trembling from head to toe. The existence of an ancestral figure like the Great Elder was too unique; his every word and action were laden with extraordinary meaning... As this thought crossed Sixth Lord Hee’s mind, his pupils contracted. A chill shot up his spine. Don’t tell me... they intend to go to... to war with our Hex Family of Macau!?

”Hee Qiuming? Hmph!” Just then, the One-eyed Elder let out a cold snort, making the already petrified Sixth Lord Hee tremble violently.

”S-senior, what is this all about...?” he stammered, forcing himself to ask despite his terror.

If his suspicions were correct, if the top-tier Chen Family of Hong Kong wanted to start a war with their Hex Family of Macau—so much so that their most powerful ancestor, the Great Elder, had come in person—he couldn’t imagine what a terrifying event this would be! He feared that even if the Clan Leader of their Hee Family were here, he wouldn’t be able to remain calm!

”Excuse me, uncle, but don’t you think it’s rather rude to interrupt our game like this?” Chen Fei suddenly asked with a faint smile.

”You...” Sixth Lord Hee began, stunned. He couldn’t process that some young man would dare speak so impudently in front of the Great Elder of the Chen Family. A flash of annoyance crossed his eyes as he tried to explain, ”Sir, I am the general manager of this casino...”

”So what if you’re the general manager? If you don’t have any business, could you please get out? You’re ruining our game,” Chen Fei interrupted flatly, curling his lip. Although he didn’t know the man’s identity, seeing him so terrified of the One-eyed Elder suggested he wasn’t anyone too important. Losing interest, Chen Fei decided to continue his act, clearly ’disdaining’ the man’s insufficient status.

He couldn’t help it. Someone from this man’s family had set up his best friend. He was still furious, and he had no intention of backing down until he had flipped the whole place upside down and dragged every last one of their demons and monsters out into the open.

”You...” Sixth Lord Hee’s expression turned ugly. It had been a long time since any young man had dared to challenge him so publicly.

”Sixth Master, what are you still standing here for? Hurry up and leave. Don’t disturb Mr. Chen’s good mood,” Chen Yaoyang, who had been standing silently behind Chen Fei, suddenly said. He looked at Sixth Lord Hee, his gaze conveying a special meaning.

As contemporaries, he knew the man, and their relationship wasn’t poor like his was with He Che. Naturally, he didn’t want to see him stumble blindly into offending Chen Fei. If that happened, the consequences would be far greater than just the issue with He Che!

At Chen Yaoyang’s words, Sixth Lord Hee shuddered violently. His gaze shifted incredulously to Chen Yaoyang, then he stole a glance at the Great Elder’s expression. All the blood drained from his face. When he looked back at Chen Fei, his eyes were filled with nothing but awe and terror! As the man once lauded as the most outstanding of the Hee Family’s previous generation, Sixth Lord Hee was no fool; he was very clever. By now, even an idiot would have understood. In this trio, the young Chen Fei was the one whose words carried the most weight—even with the Great Elder of the Chen Family present.

A faint smile touched Chen Fei’s lips. The One-eyed Elder’s eyes flashed as he saw this. Seemingly understanding Chen Fei’s intent, he suddenly looked up and said, ”Chen Yaoyang, lead him out.”

”Yes, Great Elder,” Chen Yaoyang responded at once. ”Let’s go. We’ll step outside.”

At this, Sixth Lord Hee gave a start and dared not show the slightest hint of grievance. Seeing Chen Yaoyang coming to escort him out, he immediately bowed deeply to the One-eyed Elder and Chen Fei. ”Then... I will take my leave,” he said, his voice trembling with respect. ”Elder, and Mr. Chen, my apologies for the disturbance.”

After speaking, he couldn’t help but cast a terrified glance at Chen Fei. Who in the world is this young man? he wondered frantically. To command such respect from the Great Elder of the Chen Family, to have him follow his every word... That was a terrifyingly powerful senior on par with his own Hee Family’s Clan Leader, and yet...

Seeing this, Ke Xiangdong, Scarface, and the others couldn’t help but let out a sharp HISS. They all sucked in a breath of cold air, staring at Chen Fei as if they were seeing a ghost, their faces masks of pure horror. Even Sixth Lord Hee had been scared away. What were they, a bunch of small fry, supposed to do now?

Chen Fei, however, just beamed at them, having already made the choice for them. ”Come on, come on,” he chirped. ”Let’s keep it going, let’s keep it going!”
