”Betting on Big or Small? Alright, go call Jack over,” Ke Xiangdong said, a faint smile playing at the corners of his mouth as he instructed one of his subordinates. As the saying goes, the simpler the form of gambling, the easier it is to lose, especially when betting against their casino. They made their living off this—how could they possibly be afraid?

”Yes, General Manager.” A staff member from the VIP room responded, bowing slightly as he backed out of the room.

A moment later, he returned with a Black man who looked to be in his thirties or forties. He wore a black jacket on top and extravagant hip-hop baggy pants below. His hair was styled in thick braids, and he carried a nonchalant, playful demeanor. Walking in, he laughed toward Ke Xiangdong, ”Hi, Mr. Ke, I heard you called for me? You know my appearance fee is pretty hefty, right?”

Clearly, this was a professional gambler, someone who enjoyed great fame even on an international level. He had a nickname, Jack the Magician, which implied that his hand speed had reached an otherworldly level. Any gambling tool could become enchanted in his hands as he performed astonishing magic tricks. For this reason, Jack was ranked seventh among the world’s greatest gamblers, and his appearance fee started at an eight-figure sum. Ordinary gamblers were like lambs to the slaughter before such a man.

As for why he was here, the reason was simple. Any casino in Macau, or indeed the world, would keep such people on hand for occasions when trouble might arise and the house was at risk of losing. That would be a devastating blow to any casino.

And devastation meant destruction. Thus, no casino dared to take these matters lightly and would always be fully prepared.

”Jack, this guest wants to bet on Big or Small. How about you play with him for a bit?” Ke Xiangdong, hearing Jack’s arrogant words, wasn’t offended and simply smiled.

”Oh, betting on Big or Small? That’s my favorite game; you’ve got good taste.” Jack’s gaze followed Ke Xiangdong’s toward Chen Fei. His voice was exaggerated, and a look of surprise and a sneer crossed his face as he noticed the chips piled in front of him.

Tens of millions, maybe even a hundred million!

So that’s why Mr. Ke summoned me, Jack now understood perfectly. A big whale has arrived, a big fat sheep!

A confident sneer spread across his face. Usually, when so-called high rollers and big whales came to their casino, they brought their own people, their own experts to gamble. But now, this twenty-something, yellow-skinned man is sitting at the gambling table by himself. Does he intend to play on his own?

Oh, dear God, I, Jack, don’t mean to bully anyone! But does this kid really know how to gamble? Hahaha! I really want to laugh out loud, hahaha…

With a mocking smile on his lips, the Black man, Jack, was already roaring with laughter inside. He said aloud, ”Oh, dear friend, what should I call you? I’m Jack. Hello. Shall we get started now?”

”Hello, Jack. I’m Chen Fei,” he replied with a smile. ”We can definitely start now, but first, you have to tell me the rules for this dice game. Is it just betting on Big or Small?”

”Oh, dear Mr. Chen, you’re so funny. What other rules could there be for Big or Small? If the three dice total more than 11, it’s Big. If it’s 10 or less, it’s Small. Triples beat everything! Of course, we can also choose to take turns as the banker, or I can just be the banker the whole time,” Jack said, nonchalantly pulling out the chair opposite Chen Fei and sitting down with a playful smirk.

Oh, God, he doesn’t even know the rules. Is this yellow-skinned idiot still dreaming?

”I see. Let’s take turns as the banker, then. You can start,” Chen Fei said, casually picking up a stack of chips worth two million.

”Oh, dear Mr. Chen, I, Jack, like straightforward people like you.” Jack’s eyes grew hot as he stared at the chips in Chen Fei’s hands. He then casually grabbed the bottle of whiskey already on the gambling table and guzzled it down like beer. Afterward, his dark, unattractive face twisted into a wolfish, playfully ferocious expression.

He had a habit of drinking when gambling for high stakes. It helped him feel the tension, winding his spirit tight with excitement. That was when he, Jack the Magician, was truly the seventh-ranked gambling king in the world.

CLACK, CLACK, CLACK…

As Jack chugged the whiskey, a fiery sensation built in his belly. A wide, arrogant grin spread across his face. ”Dear Mr. Chen, I’m starting.” As soon as he spoke, he snatched the dice cup from the table and began to shake it fiercely.

The entire process was fluid, as natural as eating or drinking. It brought a slight smile to the lips of Ke Xiangdong, who was standing quietly nearby.

Jack is serious from the get-go, he thought. He’s already in performance mode! We’re guaranteed to win!

BANG!

Moments later, Jack firmly slammed the dice cup down on the table. He took another gulp of whiskey, crossed his legs, and said nonchalantly, ”Dear Mr. Chen, please place your bet.”

Although Chen Fei looks like a complete novice, I’m not taking any chances. Jack was cautious enough not to go easy on him, using a special technique for shaking the dice that was normally reserved for preventing top-tier experts from identifying the outcome by sound. He had even used this method to cheat that white-skinned pig who was currently ranked third in the world. I’m absolutely certain he can’t hear what this is. The outcome is already sealed!

”Time to bet? Big or Small… Let’s go with Big, I guess.” Chen Fei seemed to barely give it a thought. He muttered a few words before casually and stylishly sliding the entire tray of chips onto the ’Big’ area. On this round, he was betting a hundred million! One hundred million US dollars!

”Dear Mr. Chen, are you going all-in?” Seeing Chen Fei’s suave yet foolish move, a look of mockery and excitement instantly filled Jack’s narrow, ugly eyes.

I’m certain I rolled a triple of fives! And this yellow-skinned fool actually went all-in on ’Big’… Oh, God, what a delightful day to meet such a brainless idiot!

That’s over one hundred million Australian dollars! This is too easy! Hahaha!

”...Mr. Chen, would you like to reconsider?” When Chen Yaoyang saw the unabashed, mocking laughter in Jack’s ugly eyes, he couldn’t help but feel a jolt of anxiety. After hesitating for a moment, he leaned in to whisper to Chen Fei.

I’m no fool. I can see what that mockery in Jack’s eyes means. he thought. Although I’ve already accepted that Chen Fei could lose all three hundred million US dollars without issue, isn’t this too rash? Going all-in on the first round without a second thought?

”Hey, friend, please don’t do that, okay? Once a bet is placed, you can’t take it back!” Jack’s hearing was exceptionally sharp, and it seemed he had heard Chen Yaoyang. He immediately protested. He was on the verge of winning a hundred million; how could he let him take it back? Integrity was a must at the gambling table.

”Sir, a bet, once made, cannot be taken back. That has always been the rule. Please don’t make things difficult for us, thank you.” Seeing the situation, Ke Xiangdong, who had been quiet until now, promptly stepped forward. Compared to his earlier tension, he had relaxed considerably, and a disdainful sneer had already formed in his heart.

I initially thought that someone causing such a scene must be an expert among experts! But this kid is a screw-up from the very beginning, recklessly going all-in with one hundred million US dollars! He’s no different from a complete amateur. I was wasting my time being so nervous. I was really overthinking it.

At this thought, he couldn’t help but look at Chen Fei as if he were an imbecile. We at the Nine Heavens of the Milky Way certainly welcome a fat sheep like this, coming to just give away money! It would be perfect if he came every day to be our Good Fortune Boy! That would be the best, hahaha!

”Yaoi Yang, shut up!” Just then, the One-eyed Elder, who had been silent with his head down, suddenly snapped.

His gaze was frigid, clearly filled with dissatisfaction and disappointment.

Chen Yaoyang flinched, instantly understanding what the Great Elder meant. Breaking out in a cold sweat, he said, ”Great Elder, yes… Mr. Chen, I apologize. I was just overly nervous.”

My intentions were good, but who knows what Chen Fei will think, he thought frantically. To an outsider, my actions look like a complete lack of trust. If Chen Fei gets annoyed because of this, won’t all of our investments and everything we’ve done be for nothing?

”No worries,” Chen Fei said, not seeming bothered at all. He turned to Jack with a grin. ”Hey, Jack, hurry up and open it. I can’t wait.”

I really feel like I’m just bullying him. I’m almost embarrassed, he thought to himself. I wonder if the man will have a mental breakdown and start questioning his life when the dice cup is opened! Hahaha.

”Alright, Mr. Chen, here we go. I’m so sorry, but it’s a triple, three…” Jack slammed his whiskey down on the table and, with a mocking look, lifted the dice cup.

But before he could finish his excited, arrogant sentence, his voice was suddenly cut off, as if a hand had clamped around his throat. His face changed dramatically, his pupils constricted, and his forehead was instantly beaded with sweat. The cold sweat shimmered on his dark skin under the bright lights.

Because when he opened the dice cup, he saw not a triple of fives, but two fives and a six. The result was Big!

”What? Impossible!” Ke Xiangdong’s expression changed instantly. His assured, square face was now a mask of utter disbelief and horror.

I know exactly who Jack is! He’s the world’s seventh-ranked gambling king! Hailed as Jack the Magician, a terrifying figure in the international gambling scene. It’s absolutely impossible for him to make a mistake! The moment the bet was placed, he had that mocking smile. He was obviously certain that he hadn’t rolled ’Big.’ It had to be a triple, or maybe even ’Small’... But now, what the hell is this? Why do the dice add up to Big!? What does this mean? Does it mean we just lost one hundred million? And in US dollars?!?
