Medical Sage

Concerned about his son’s serious illness, Chen Yaoyang’s heart was bursting with anxiety. He wished he could return at once, but with Chen Fei present, he could only bottle up his worries and quietly await the dawn.

Early the next morning, an excited Chen Yaoyang, sporting dark circles under his eyes from a sleepless night, had a private luxury yacht ready to return to Hong Kong. Seeing this, Chen Fei naturally didn’t have the heart to linger any longer. Around eight or nine in the morning, he boarded the yacht, prepared to set off for Hong Kong. However, the Great Elder of the Chen Family, Chen Yuan, did not accompany them. It seemed he had some personal matters to attend to and remained in Macau. Naturally, no one questioned his decision.

There was also a small interlude as Chen Fei, Chen Yaoyang, and the others prepared to leave Macau. The Hee Family Clan Leader, Hee Yuanpei, made another appearance, bringing with him a large piece of jadeite. It was, astonishingly, the very piece Chen Fei had won before.

As it turned out, when He Che had obtained the material from Hua Zhinan to curry favor with Junn Yuanyi, the latter hadn’t accepted it, discarding it like trash.

Having won nearly 400 million US dollars at the Nine Heavens of the Milky Way, both Chen Fei and Hua Zhinan remembered this incident but had an unspoken agreement not to bring it up, considering the matter settled. After all, the jadeite was worth twenty million at most, which paled in comparison to the nearly 400 million US dollars. To make a fuss over it would be rather petty and unnecessary.

However, while they felt this way, the Hee Family of Macau, who had been frightened out of their wits, certainly did not.

They had received news the previous night that a group of strange people had taken a bald young man to get his severed arm reattached. By viewing the hospital’s surveillance footage and photos secretly taken by professionals, they were horrified to discover that the bald young man with the severed arm was none other than Junn Yuanyi, the Young Master of the Holy Fire Sect, one of the second-tier Ancient Martial Arts sects.

This terrifying revelation naturally petrified the Hee Family of Macau, especially He Che.

After all, Junn Yuanyi was the renowned Young Master of the Holy Fire Sect, one of the eleven major second-tier sects in Huaxia’s ancient martial arts world. And that wasn’t even the scariest part. Behind Junn Yuanyi stood a grandfather who was a Half-Step Innate Powerhouse.

What did a Half-Step Innate Powerhouse represent? To put it simply, even a provincial-level special department like Flying Leopard, which operated across the Three Provinces of Lingnan, probably had no more than a handful of such experts—a ratio of tens of millions to one. In the entire domestic Circle of Ancient Martial Arts, they were undoubtedly at the grandmaster level, absolute overlords.

The thought that Chen Fei had dared to casually break the arm of a Half-Step Innate Powerhouse’s beloved and only grandson nearly paralyzed He Che with fear. He was almost frightened into doubting his own existence. Perhaps because of this, He Che suddenly remembered the matter of the jadeite.

Afterward, he scrambled to find it, frantically searching through the night until he located it in a corner of an open-air balcony at a top-tier tycoon club in Macau. Once Hee Yuanpei learned of this, he immediately decided to deliver it personally early in the morning as a sign of his sincerity.

Clearly, he was terrified. Otherwise, why would a man of his stature, the Patriarch of the Hee Family of Macau, go to such lengths?

Chen Fei was naturally happy to have the lost item returned and readily accepted it. However, since he was preparing to go to Hong Kong with Chen Yaoyang, it wasn’t convenient to carry the jadeite. Therefore, he simply asked Hee Yuanpei to deliver it to Slickhead.

Chen Fei was heading to Hong Kong, but Slickhead wanted to return to Northern Mountain as soon as possible to let his parents know he was safe. He had a flight that morning and was likely already on his way to the airport.

Hearing Chen Fei’s request, Hee Yuanpei heaved a sigh of relief and promptly took the ’hot potato’ to Hua Zhinan. At the same time, he had a clever idea. Within half an hour, he had sourced several jadeite raw stones of exceptional quality from the Hee Family’s assets, planning to offer them to Hua Zhinan as an apology… but we shall leave that for later.

「About an hour later, at one of Hong Kong’s top private yacht marinas, several high-class, luxury business vehicles were parked side by side.」

Standing beside these elite vehicles, and at key positions near the yacht’s entrance, were many stern-faced men in black suits with noticeable bulges under their clothes. In addition to them, a distinguished-looking man and woman stood protected by the crowd of suited men, waiting with eager anticipation.

This man and woman were none other than Chen Yaoyang’s wife, Dong Shuxian, and his son, Chen Hao.

It was clear that to this mother and son, Mr. Chen had already become a figure as revered as one of their own ancestors. The fact that he was willing to come to Hong Kong to treat her son, Chen Hao, was a momentous event for them both, one they dared not treat lightly.

Even though Chen Hao was a critically ill cancer patient, he had been so excited after hearing from his parents that Mr. Chen was coming to treat him that he’d barely slept a wink. He got up before dawn and accompanied his mother to the private yacht marina to welcome him personally.

Amid their anxious and tense wait, around 9:30 a.m., Chen Fei and Chen Yaoyang arrived at the marina and emerged from the passageway.

”Mr. Chen, thank you for coming so early. We appreciate you making the trip,” Dong Shuxian immediately greeted him, her expression tense.

She couldn’t help it. Although her status might seem impressive to the secular eye—with a husband who was the acting head of one of Hong Kong’s Five Great Tycoon Families and a brother who was the party secretary of a provincial capital—she knew all of this meant nothing before Chen Fei. Not to mention, she had previously been blind to his kind intentions and ignored his warning, which made her even more terrified that Chen Fei, holding a grudge against her, would refuse to help her son.

”Hello, Mr. Chen,” Chen Hao said, feeling an extreme nervousness, just like the first time he had met the Great Elder of the Chen Family. The shock and awe from that day were deeply etched in his heart, impossible to forget.

At this thought, he couldn’t help but grit his teeth in regret. He bowed deeply to Chen Fei and said, ”Mr. Chen, I was blind and didn’t recognize your greatness before. I spouted such nonsense, failing to appreciate you. I was wrong! Please, I beg your magnanimity; forgive this junior for his disrespect!”

”I…”

Chen Fei was speechless, not knowing whether to laugh or cry.

Come on, let’s be reasonable. If I really held a grudge about that, why would I have come all the way to Hong Kong today? Use your head.

”That’s right, Mr. Chen, that incident was my fault. If you’re still angry, you can hit or scold me, but please, can you save my son? He’s my only child, and he’s usually very obedient, not like those unruly playboys…” Dong Shuxian added, appearing frightened and uneasy. Her eyes turned red as she lost control and began to sob quietly.

”You’re Chen Hao, right? And Ms. Dong, if I were really angry about that incident, I wouldn’t have come to Hong Kong today with Uncle Yaoyang. And don’t worry. Tumors may be troublesome, but I have my ways. Relax,” Chen Fei said, unable to resist comforting them.

He could certainly understand a mother’s feelings—selfless, sincere, and deeply moving, just like how his own mother had struggled to raise him all by herself. He cherished those memories.

”Really? That’s wonderful! Thank you, Mr. Chen, thank you so much!” Dong Shuxian exclaimed, weeping with joy.

”Alright, alright, what’s all this crying about? Mr. Chen, how about we go get something to eat? You should rest first,” Chen Yaoyang interjected.

He was rational and clear-headed. He understood that Chen Fei was a man of his word, so if he said he could and would treat the illness, then there was no need to worry. They just needed to do their best to fulfill their duties as hosts of the Chen Family. The rest was out of their hands.

”Eat and rest? Let’s skip that. It’s too early. How about this? Find me a quiet place, and I’ll take care of Chen Hao’s illness first,” Chen Fei immediately replied, shaking his head. He figured it was best to give them some peace of mind right away.

”Start the treatment now? Should we go to the hospital?” Dong Shuxian immediately asked.

”The hospital? Let’s go somewhere else. I need a quieter place,” Chen Fei replied, shaking his head.

Chen Yaoyang immediately said, ”Then let’s go to our house. It’s definitely quiet there.” He understood that Chen Fei didn’t want to be disturbed.

”Okay, let’s go to our house then,” Dong Shuxian readily agreed. Beside them, Chen Hao’s expression was one of extreme excitement.

A moment later, escorted by the men in black suits, the group arrived at the marina’s parking lot. Chen Yaoyang walked to the front without hesitation, opened the rear door of a top-tier luxury vehicle for Chen Fei, and gestured for him to get in, acting like a valet.

Seeing this, the bodyguards and drivers of the Hong Kong Chen Family standing behind them were so shocked their eyes nearly popped out of their sockets, their faces frozen in disbelief. That was the acting head of their Hong Kong Chen Family, now acting like a valet for someone?

However, Dong Shuxian and Chen Hao were already mentally prepared for such a scene.

Soon after, a convoy of luxury cars drove out of the private yacht marina’s parking lot, heading toward a top-tier mansion in Hong Kong’s Shallow Water Bay.

「At the same time, deep within Hong Kong’s Shallow Water Bay, on the top floor of a Black Market Ancient Castle shrouded in roses and thorns, news of Chen Fei’s arrival in Hong Kong had been compiled into a report.」

It was placed before a hunched, gray-robed old man leaning on a crooked walking stick.
