High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1133: Chapter 195 Courage

Hearing another voice, Jiang Yu belatedly realized that there was another witch standing in the office, and she was right behind her, slightly to the side.

Her face flushed red in an instant.

She was willing to bet that when she entered, she had clearly seen only Professor Yao in the office, and he was sitting behind his desk. That was why she had the courage to say so much.

Who knew someone in the Jiuyou Academy Dean’s Office would use some kind of concealment magic!

It wasn’t until Jiang Yu turned around and saw the identity of the speaker that she came to a realization—it was Su Shijun. Being the most popular witch in the wizard world, and a Big Wizard at that, she certainly could and had reason to do so.

But if she was hiding, why did she have to pop up after she finished talking?

Jiang Yu silently complained in her heart.

After teasing, Su Shijun looked at her with an expression that was half-smiling, not saying anything more.

”Tsk tsk, this kid, really impressive,” Old Yao stroked his chin, forgetting to bite on his pipe and just marveling, ”How come I never had such good luck back then...”

Neither of the witches paid any attention to him.

”Student Jiang Yu, right,” Su Shijun smiled for a while before finally bringing up a serious matter, ”If I remember correctly, there were a total of five hunters from the Absolution Hunting Team, a maid from Greenhill Mansion, and two animals at the scene... If you weren’t there, how could you possibly prove your testimony?”

Jiang Yu bit her lip.

”I am that little white cat!” she boldly lifted her head, ”A wizard’s testimony after using Transformation is recognized in the Wizard’s Codex... I am willing to testify.”

”Ho, this is you exposing yourself, the school didn’t ask you to do so,” Old Yao lifted his pipe, his expression becoming slightly more serious, ”Did you discuss this with your family?”

The form a wizard takes after using Transformation is very secretive information. Few wizards are willing to reveal this to others. Apart from those specializing in Transformation, most wizards use it to escape reality, to conceal their whereabouts, and for other matters inconvenient to make public.

Therefore, the Mage Alliance has very comprehensive protective clauses for users of Transformation, including additional supplements on top of those from institutions that teach Transformation, like First University. Among these, the most critical content is the protection of the wizards’ forms after Transformation.

There was no change in the expression on Jiang Yu’s face.

”I can take responsibility for my actions,” she stated.

This answer had a dual meaning, one emphasizing that she was an adult and could take responsibility for her actions, and the other subtly replying to the Professor that she had not discussed the matter of revealing her Transformation form with her family.

Old Yao’s face showed a hint of difficulty as he reinserted the pipe into his mouth and began to bite it dryly.

”Very well,” Su Shijun placed her hand on Jiang Yu’s shoulder, sensing that her body seemed to be trembling slightly and encouraged her, ”Practicing justice for the sake of just beliefs is a faith that only true Jiuyou students possess.”

Then she turned her head to look at Professor Yao.

”You’ve seen it too, I’m not the only one who disagrees with the school’s ruling,” Su Shijun looked into Professor Yao’s eyes, her demeanor was dignified, completely devoid of her earlier casualness, ”I know the school has always had the tradition of ’when public opinion is overwhelming, stay silent; when public opinion is seething, keep things under control,’ but your handling of this matter is not staying silent, but rather abetting tyranny, not keeping things under control, but adding fuel to the fire.”

”If you don’t revise the wording and content of that announcement, I worry that the students might cause an even bigger incident.”

Upon hearing what Su Shijun had said, Jiang Yu’s eyes lit up, only then realizing that the lady from the Upper House came for the same reason, which greatly excited her. But Old Yao’s next words immediately snuffed out that excitement and made her feel ashamed.

”You two don’t represent public opinion,” the Professor waved his hand dismissively, unbothered by Su Shijun’s dire warnings while a smile crept onto his face, ”The school naturally values the opinions of the general student body, but you two have a vested interest with the party involved and cannot fully represent this opinion...”

Having said this, and noticing the resurgence of dissatisfaction on the faces of the two witches, he hurriedly added, ”...Of course, this does not mean that we will ignore your opinions. If everyone really has concerns or suggestions, the school will still listen. After all, we pride ourselves on being a student-centered institution.”

”For safety’s sake, let the spell fly for a while longer.”

Professor Yao’s words seemed to carry a deeper meaning, causing Jiang Yu to furrow her brow with uncertainty in her heart.

Compared to her, Su Shijun appeared to have grasped more of the professor’s implied meaning.

”I saw the school’s announcement about confiscating his Charm Gun?” Su Shijun shifted to a more specific detail, ”I should be able to get that Charm Gun back though... It was a gift from me.”

Jiang Yu glanced at her furtively.

Professor Yao looked at her in surprise, then turned his gaze onto Jiang Yu.

”Are you planning to have Student Jiang Yu sign a Silence Contract?” Old Yao clearly did not understand why Su Shijun would bring this up in front of a third person; she didn’t seem that foolish.

Su Shijun looked mockingly at the Dean of Jiu You College.

”The girls nowadays are smarter than you think.” She pressed her hand on Jiang Yu’s shoulder, speaking in a relaxed tone, ”Student Jiang Yu has known about that matter for a while.”

Professor Yao sighed heavily, looking at the uneasy girl before him.

”Quite impressive,” he lamented, taking the pipe from his mouth and switching it to the other hand, then once again turned to Su Shijun with a teasing smirk on his face, ”Just that Zheng Qing has two Charm Guns, which one are you referring to?”

Su Shijun’s gaze narrowed dangerously.

”That big gun,” she whispered softly.

”The other Colt silver python was a gift from me,” Jiang Yu boldly muttered under her breath.

Professor Yao burst out laughing.

”As much as I would like to return the gifts to you, I regret to inform you that I don’t have either gun,” the Professor said, spreading his hands in a helpless gesture, ”The school has confiscated them both.”

”Aren’t you the one in charge of the school during this time?” Su Shijun thought he was fobbing her off and was a bit angry.

”No, no, no,” Old Yao waved his pipe emphatically, ”As you know, there are some things in the school that do not fall under my control, and I can’t control them even if I wanted to.”

”The relevant department?” Su Shijun asked softly.

”No,” Old Yao curled his lip, not attempting to fool the witch before him, ”It’s a cat... quite a troublesome cat. It’s not to be trifled with, nor can it be avoided. It’s taken both guns.”
