High School of Demon Hunting

Chapter 1130: Chapter 192 Conflict of Opinions

A student at the school nearly lost his life, which, both in the Mortal World and The Magical World, constitutes a serious safety accident.

Especially since this incident occurred between Jiuyou Academy and Alpha Academy, where relations have been continuously contentious of late, especially as the injured Alpha student held multiple titles such as Vice President of the Student Union, student leader, and Hunting Team Leader. All this escalated the severity of the incident several notches.

At the crack of dawn, paper cranes from various stakeholders, including Danghag, the Joint Meeting of First University’s Professors, The First University’s School Works Committee, the Student Union of the First University, the Dean’s Office of Alpha Academy, the Student Union of Alpha Academy, and the Club Union of Alpha Academy, swarmed into Old Yao’s office.

This was an extremely rare sight on the campus of the First University over the weekend.

The core issue discussed in all the paper crane messages was the same, how to deal with the parties involved. On this matter, the views of Alpha Academy and Jiuyou Academy were starkly opposed.

The paper cranes from Alpha mostly emphasized Zheng Qing’s violent actions, highlighting that his behavior violated the traditions of harmony and love of the First University and breached numerous regulations of the University, necessitating severe punishment. At the same time, these paper cranes turned a blind eye to Sepulano’s ’suspected’ rule violations, merely noting that the person in question was seriously injured in the hospital and that the school should take a humanitarian approach.

The paper cranes from Jiuyou Academy repeatedly emphasized the patrol team’s preemptive enforcement rights and that a wizard’s magic might occasionally become volatile in the face of danger, using these reasons to exculpate Zheng Qing; whereas Sepulano had clearly violated school discipline, and despite his current serious injury, he should bear the primary responsibility for this accident.

The other departments of the First University situated between Jiuyou and Alpha Academies, as well as external organizations like Danghag and Trisword, took a middle-of-the-road approach, giving both sides equal criticism.

Because related discussions and opinions needed to be archived, and only the paper conveyed by paper cranes possessed this ancient feature, large flocks of paper cranes became a beautiful sight at the Academy on April 12th.

Many students noticed this unusual scene, curious about what had happened.

Rumors abounded.

Some said demons had broken through a location in the Four Seasons Pavilion, and the Mage Alliance planned to call high-level wizards from the First University to join the battle; some said that a riot had occurred in the depths of Silent Forest, countless black magic creatures swarmed into the outer forest, scaring the horsemen senseless, although this claim was quickly and vehemently denied by the Horseman Tribe outside Alpha Fortress; others claimed the appearance of so many paper cranes indicated a major discovery by the school, pointing to a ten-year-old newspaper article as proof—back when a school hunting team had discovered a New World beyond the frontier, paper cranes had also filled the sky.

The parties who knew the truth about the incident were either unconscious in the school hospital, bound in their offices awaiting decisions, or turning in circles helplessly within the confines of their dormitories.

The chaos lasted all morning.

The discussions remained inconclusive.

Representatives from Alpha Academy and Jiuyou Academy finally decided to sit down together and resolve the matter face-to-face.

The meeting place was arranged in office 101, the largest office at Jiuyou Academy. The conference was presided over by a representative of the Joint Meeting of the First University’s Professors, with attendees including professors from Jiuyou and Alpha Academy, representatives of the School Works Committee, leaders from three student unions and three club unions, as well as guests from Danghag and Trisword.

Shortly after midday, figures began to congregate at the ’temporary reception point’ set up in the lobby of the office building on the first floor. This unique temporary anchor point allowed attendees with passports to use convenient magic to come and go.

As soon as the meeting began, it entered into a fierce confrontation.

The attitude of Alpha’s Student Union was clear, ”Student Mike Gold Cypress Plano may have breached school regulations, and while he’s still unconscious, that point is debatable. It is important to emphasize that Sepulano is the only victim of this incident and, according to relevant regulations, is eligible for mitigated processing. Therefore, we believe a written warning is sufficient.”

”As for Zheng Qing, we have noticed that this is not the first time he has appeared on the First University’s disciplinary punishment list. On the first day of enrollment, he fought in the streets, and on the recent Magic Prohibition Festival outing in the spring, he wandered off into Silent Forest without permission... His use of lethal magic during a patrol mission has crossed the boundary of misconduct and constitutes criminal behavior...”

”Whether it involves a crime is not yet clear, the Wizard’s Code needs more time and information to determine the status of unintentional outburst magic,” an elder wizard from Danghag interrupted Alpha’s statement.

”Zheng Qing was not out of control with his magic,” reminded an observer from Trisword, ”Our archives show a clear record that Zheng Qing used the same magic during a Silent River tour in mid-February. It can be determined that this is a controllable and extremely lethal magic.”

The head of Jiuyou Academy’s Club Union finally couldn’t help but ridicule, ”So what does history of school discipline breach have to do with today’s incident? Has our school fallen so low as to forbid those who have breached school rules from enforcing the law in good faith? Does the school have any regulations forbidding students from carrying charm guns or using Suppression Symbol fu bullets?”

”They don’t care about whether there’s a real connection, they are just against any student from Jiuyou Academy,” echoed the representative from Jiuyou Academy’s Student Union.

Sitting at the top left of the conference table, a professor from Alpha Fortress coughed softly, ”Order! Everyone is clear about today’s discussion agenda... It has nothing to do with the conflict between the educational philosophies of Jiuyou Academy and Alpha Academy. This is a meeting to test whether the school can treat all students equally and maintain basic fairness and justice.”

Another professor on the top right, visibly impatient, added, ”The incident happened at Jiuyou Academy, so naturally everything should be handled according to Jiuyou Academy’s rules! Why complicate such a simple matter?”

While talking, he looked at Professor Yao, who sat at the head of the table, with confusion. It was Old Yao’s ambivalent stance on the matter that led to the sharp conflict in handling the situation within the school.

Professor Yao sat with his arms crossed, biting on his pipe, leaning casually in his chair, watching the clamorous meeting with a smile, saying nothing. Clouds of pale white smoke enveloped his face, leaving only a pair of shiny black eyes visible.
